There's been a bit of speculation going on within the last two or so weeks about the health and status of the PCW. Today, I am here to put those thoughts to rest.
So with that written, it brings me a great deal of discomfort to announce that Pure Class Wrestling will close down permanently as of today. There won't ever be another attempt on my end to revive the PCW. Hell, with the closure of this run, I may very well bow out of all things efed (with exceptions of forums I may partake in, in the future).
When I announced my intention to reopen the PCW, there was a handful of people who were interested in returning. That handful of people returning turned into a dozen of so altogether who were interested in being a part of the PCW. I was enthusiastic about the project, and I was led to believe others were as well. After the first show, I was more than pleased. I was so pleased that, despite me having a full-time college schedule to deal with, I was going to offer full-blown results on a weekly basis. Then week two comes and to say that activity was underwhelming would be an understatement. I tried to bide time and hoped it was just a fluke week. Then week three came, and all suspicions I had before, became true- the PCW was not the place to be anymore. So with all of that, I had to come to a decision: continue to wait it out, hoping for the best or close up shop and end the death quickly.
I chose the latter, because I really couldn't keep the fed going with four, five, or six bodies. It's not fair to me and it's not fair to the small handful of people who were staying active in the PCW. Fortunately, for all those who wish to stay active (and who aren't already a member), I have a place to redirect all. Figuring for the worst (but hoping for the best) I made arrangements with Evolution Pro Wrestling that, in the result of PCW closing shop (for good), that I'll "sell" the PCW to the EPW, and Gary and his crew will get the roster members who are left. Gary assured me that some PCW history will be kept intact, but really, all that was really needed was a good place where my guys could go. EPW is that place.
I plead for all those who are interested, go join up with EPW. They'll pick up where I left off. As for results this week, I'm sure most people can figure out the winners and losers. I'll let you fill in the blanks of how.
This may or may not be my last post, so in case it is, I want to thank all the people who made the PCW one of the best efeds I've ever been apart in:
Jacob- Peggy, you were there since Day One. And although you had your stints of inactivity and letdowns, you were always a positive member of the community. Whether it was someone needing advice or feedback on an rp, me needing help with the results, or just randomness provided, you were always there. Thank you, for everything you did.
Andrew- Drew, to say you didn't disappoint me these last few weeks would be a huge lie. You let me down big time, and I'm not going to put all this on your shoulders, but had you been around, that would have been two more bodies...I may very well have kept the PCW up and struggling until something more concrete arrived. Despite recently, however, you were always there for the PCW. You were probably our first true Main Eventer, always willing to give feedback on results and roleplays and the like, and are probably second all-time in putting in work and time into the PCW. You're someone I've known since you were about 13, and it truly was a pleasure watching and helping you mature over the years as a writer.
Tom- Oh, Tom. Oh the joy you bring. You're a funny character, because, as much as I always hated how you had an excuse for everything, as much as I hated your basketcase of an ex girlfriend, and as much as you hated my continuous ragging on you, you are probably the second longest tenured PCW rper. You stuck around during bad times and for that, I'm truly thankful for. I still consider you a friend, although, ha, I don't know if the feeling is mutual. Either way, it was a pleasure having you in the PCW, especially when you were, well, active.
Alex- Al, it was truly a pleasure watching you evolve as a writer. For a long time, and perhaps even still, you were the yardstick of what a great writer should be. Every week, you put in 110%, and even then, when help was needed with results or when I needed someone to take over the fed for a few weeks, you were always there. You are a great example of a true blue, hardnosed, loyal, dedicated handler. The PCW was lucky to have landed you.
Roy- Speaking of the PCW getting lucky, Heavy Metal is probably one of the greatest non-heavily recruited rper the PCW has ever had. It was a true positive experience having you here in the PCW, and it saddens me you weren't around during our heyday, because you would have been a very needed, welcomed addition to the roster. I hope you stick it out with EPW and have the experience there, that you should have had here. Thanks for your time.
Rick- NCM, for a few months there, you were on the PCW shitlist. You ditched us to dedicate your time with another fed, and a good portion of us didn't like that. But thinking about it now, it's not that serious, and once putting that behind me, it was great chatting with you and having you back in the PCW. Besides that, you were THE most consistent roleplayer during your mainstay in the PCW, and you've improved greatly over the years. We were glad to have you.
Nate- There's not much I can say about, Nate, but I'll try. I LOVED reading the Grimm stories (notice how I didn't write rps). Nate was perhaps the greatest pure writer we've ever had in the PCW, and perhaps the greatest pure writer I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with personally. Nate was always considerate, never taking leaves unless he needed to, was easy going, and just a joy of what a great handler should be. Nate, I will forever be a fan of your writing. Thanks for allowing PCW to be the host for some of your awesome work.
Shannon- Last thank you, but definitely not least, I want to thank you Shannon. It's funny how I met you in an online, Yahoo, wrestling chatroom, and a few months later, you're friends and roommates, and you're rping in the PCW. Shannon, more than anything, I thank the PCW, for had it not been for that, I wouldn't have met a true friend in you. You were the biggest PCW villain, perhaps of all time, and with you around, ratings were always on the incline. Because, as we all know, Prophet = Ratingz. Shannon, behind Drew and Alex, you probably put in the most work with the PCW behind the scenes, and, most of the time, was reliable. It was great having you here.
All the names mentioned above, can officially call themselves the first and last PCW Hall of Fame class. There are others out there that I'd like to thank (Brittany, Barb, Joe, Justin, Jase, Johnny, among others), but overall, I want to thank every single handler who ever posted an rp, or helped behind the scenes. The PCW was THE place to be a few back, and all those who contributed should be proud. Thanks for the memories. Thanks for the fun.
Forever Grateful,
Luis Malave
PS
Make sure you all check out the EPW. I guarantee a good time.

I'll still obviously be available online, so it's not like I died or anything. Holla at a playa.
