Fishing for compliments?
Begging the question?
Maybe.
I've seen several comments of late about some of the matches being shorter, and I thought in the interest of transparency I'd chime in before we get this ball rolling.
Given the current level of regular match writers we have, we're still using the summarized results that PCW has seen under I think every other HoCD/DWO/Magic Star Flying Emperor of Pretendy Fun Tyme Wrestling™. Sometimes match lengths creep back up because, well, we like you lot and we're here for our own enjoyment as well. We get the ideas, we write them down, and yeah, sometimes we go over the word count. Currently I ask the mules to try to shoot for an 800 minimum, with "minimum" meaning less "please do at least this" and more "no, really, so long as you hit this you're golden, anything else is bonus".
So you guys are definitely right - they're on the short side for what PCW often enjoys by way of match length, but at this point it's a matter of having the match writers every show to produce results.
But really - what did everyone think?

So freaking awesome!!!! It was as always well worth the wait and I was suprised be the twists and turns and the shocking suprise of the return of a former PCW superstar (I won't say who it will spoil it) The matches were excellent as usual and I have to say I was shocked by the outcome of one or two of them. The TIT is shaping up nicely and should be very competitive this year. NCM was warned no to stick his nose in and he paid the price. I don't know who this mystery woman is or what her connection to Nathan Saniti is but it will make for a very intresting time I'm sure! PCW has seen the Darkness rising... What's next? Wouldn't you like to know......

I'll give more thorough feedback on Monday, but I did notice there was no mention of Razor Blade coming to the ring for the opening match.

Thanks for that, I'll look back through and see what I missed. Actually it was there, it just didn't say his name or really look like an entrance. Direct copy/paste from his profile as per the instructions given to the creative team. TL;DR - If someone wants a more noticeable entrance, they need to write it or ask for help with it. xD

Ace and Jerry have some pretty good banter throughout this entire broadcast.
The first match was a good solid tag team battle, and gave some of these new signees a little more experience in the PCW ring.
Next up is one of three matches we already know the outcome to thanks to a no-show, but as usual the mules didn’t let anyone get squashed. Jury moves on in the tournament!
Looks like we’re going to find out what’s going on with this hooded stranger…after all, no good deed goes unpunished.
Gordon and Creed had an excellent IIT debut in their match. Both had strong RPs this cycle, and I hope they both stick around for a long time. They can go far here. Also…re: The Shaw Brothers – are they watching just because they want to scope out two new wrestlers, or are they interested in one in particular? Hmmm.
We knew Dan would come out with a Fierce victory in this match, which is a shame since we all know that Showtime could have gone deep into the tournament. But such is life. Good match writing here, what with Showtime’s strategy and Dan’s recovery and the like.
Q and Kelli Starr are friends, but this is professional wrestling so sometimes you have to beat your friends down.
The parity of the Saniti / Grimm match was a given, and it was written as such, so good work there. I’m still curious as to what the deal is with creepy Snow White. I mean, clearly she’s got something to do with Saniti…but what?
Not sure if the Alexa Black attack on NCM was already in the works, but it certainly served as a way out of Rick’s no-show. And now they’ve got further RP fodder to work with.
Aaaaand I would have thought Justin Kaard would have given NCM a hand in that beatdown after the match, but I guess that’s between the two of them now.
Hey, it’s Rick Majors! Probably not the reintroduction he was hoping for, but it’s Rick Majors, none the less!
I for one have no issue with the match length. I’d just as soon not read through pages of material, anyway, and until I start writing them myself (which ain’t gonna happen) I see no reason to grumble.
Onward and upward!
