Alright. So you guys know the drill with me and feedback. I’ll try not to get long winded, no promises blah blah blah? Yeah. I won’t be saying that here, lol. What I will say though is a big thank you to the entire staff for putting together the results. Each cycle they work to put together something amazing for us all to read, and that alone warrants my appreciation. It’s not an easy thing to manage and especially when life happens. So, thank you guys. It’s something that I genuinely look forward to reading once posted.
And now, the show!
A triple threat match opens the show. This exchange immediately made me laugh.
Jerry Andrews: Here comes Razor!
Ace Anderson: The crowd goes mild!
Jerry Andrews: That was mean, Ace.
This was a short, yet action packed match. The offense kept coming without much of a pause in-between, I thought everyone looked good and it was a nice win for the PCW veteran, Crazy Boy! I wonder if this is the start of a mini-feud between him and newcomer, Alex Hayes? Given they have sen each other twice now with CB getting the win each time. Regardless, I liked this one.
PART 1 of Jury’s segment was entertaining. Hilarious to see him in such a romantic environment given his leanings towards the Underground and who he is outside of the ring. Different is the word I’m looking for. But it was enough to grab my attention and wonder what would happen next (I wasn’t disappointed).
The fatal four way for the Underground title was the match I earmarked as the one I was really looking forward to, and was not let down. I’m a fan of everybody involved here and this was a really good match. As expected, Brenna and Dontevius formed a sort of alliance against the charter members of The Darkness. It wasn’t long before it became two separate one-on-ones that spilled in and out of the ring. I really like the contrasts between everyone here.
“Born of Myth All Day” ...if only the tag division were still around
The in stereo moves were nice, always dig that sort of visual. Jerry Andrews, “Oh god darn it...not this way Ellis!” was amusing. Let’s face it. We all love to wreck the announce table from time to time. PCW has a surplus of them, so I say, wreck away!
Back on point.
You almost get the sense that Brenna-Jenks are destined for a one-on-one showdown with the way they beat on one another, and also the post-match (which I’ll get to shortly). This little added description of Brenna being able to add strength to match Jenks, “the extra 16 lbs of momentum behind Gordon’s strikes pays dividends” was a nice description. And then in the next paragraph, “Even as Jenks has the benefit of her partner, she doesn’t relent in her fight. She attacks with venomous rights and lefts, not caring what part of Brenna Gordon she hits” continues to hint at a future match between the two.
Alexa. A voice of reason?? Who knew?? lol.
The pairing of Brenna/Dontevius worked like a well oiled machine against the dangerous opposition and in the end, it was Brenna retaining her title after pinning Baby Jenks.
Who was not about to go quietly, as she offered this barb straight to the face of Brenna: “YOU’RE ON THE LIST NOW, BITCH!”
Love it. Love this match. And say kudos to all four involved.
PART 2 of Jury’s quest for Jenks followed this. I was amused by his questioning random staff about her whereabouts and laughed at the description of Shady Gary. St. Jury found who he was looking for and even had enough balls to address her by her first name. Which left us with the cliffhanger, “You.”
My segment followed. Nothing to say other than I hadn’t planned it out, and decided to write one on the fly with about...2-3 hours before the cut off. Justin and myself go back quite aways in fedding, so I wanted to highlight that IC.
Kaard vs Andy D vs Saniti. On paper that reads like a main event tilt, between three extremely talented writers and former champions (well, one current in Andy). So it was another I was looking forward to. It started with a BANG! (sorry DDP) as they wasted no time in going at one another. The speed of Andy/Kaard kept Saniti off balance. That was until an IMPRESSIVE shooting star DDT from the Mystical Madman.
A shooting star ddt? Damn. Whoever imagined that picked a good one. Andy breaks up the pin with a moonsault! (nice spot there). Jerry wisely pointed out the near fall situation and how fast paced the action was amongst all three.
“My eyes don’t have DVR to rewind, Jerry.” LOL that about describes the speed I’m talking about.
“Once Andy reaches his feet, Saniti hooks his arms from behind and lifts Andy D and smiles. That very smile then has a meeting with a knee from the apparent masochist Justin Kaard...” hahahaha! Well. That’s one way of wiping the smile off someone’s face. A few moments later, the current International Champion would score the victory after hitting a DOUBLE Dragon Bite to both opponents (“so brutal and cool, it far surpassed any video game that may have just come to mind.”)
I love DD! Nice reference from whoever wrote this. Solid match, great action and a big win for Andy D.
A video package showing Rick Majors being held captive by The Darkness followed a break. A really nice continuation of the ongoing rivalry. Majors refused to apologize and would pay for it physically. The way it was written makes me think of Alexa’s latest RP’s with the Columbians. Those kinds of torture tactics. Anyway…
My match vs Justin Michaels is up. First, to whoever wrote this, I love how you captured my character. It’s the little things, from the solo and group crucifix poses to the taunts and rule breaking etc. All of those are nicely put on display in capturing the fact Seromine is a cult leader.
So the match itself was really good. I liked how loud the crowd was getting as it lent to a big fight feel. If not mistaken this is the first time me and Justin have ever faced off one-on-one, and given our lengthy histories, the crowd was full tilt for what they were about to see. That and the fact a shot at the International title was up for grabs. I won’t get too long winded about this as I’m directly involved, but Seromine sucking in his OWN blood and misting Justin with it to stop him on the top rope was great. It was a neat visual and it led to him hitting Ashes to Ashes for the 1, 2, 3.
While I was VERY surprised to be in a contender’s match, I was excited about facing my long time friend and am happy he returned. I’m sure we’ll see one another again, but for now...Andy D is in my crosshairs. That should be another fun one, as he has been highly successful during his time here
And now the main event. The former Black Hand (two of them I should say) members in Michael Wryght and Grimm against...one hell of a STRANGE tandem in Murdoc and Dan Fierce.
Let that sink in. Murdoc. Dan Fierce. Talk about stark opposites. Opponents last week and partners for this showdown.
I like how it was Grimm and Fierce starting things as it offers a small preview to the future match between them (safe to assume Fierce will be cashing in for a shot at Grimm’s title). Fierce blowing a kiss to the non-amused Grimm was hilarious.
As was slapping him on the backside as he sidestepped the Hangtown Horror, working in some little nuances there to try and get Grimm off his game. A third try would not be as successful, as Grimm was having NONE of it.
In fact, it only led to the champ pummeling the future challenger.
The early portion of this was pure classic heel tag teaming. As a fan of old school wrestling, it was something I enjoyed reading. And then it happened.
Showtime was the legal man when Fierce tags in MURDOC. The demon who is out for The President’s head!
(**you’ll have to forgive my briefness. Hard to focus when there is loud fucking noise going on upstairs**)
So Murdoc whips Wryght, and then has his attention pulled over to Grimm (think I need some popcorn for the nose to nose showdown between them). The headbutt exchange was nicely done, with the man-monster getting the better of the World champion. Wryght would use a chop block to bring Murdoc down, before he and Grimm turned to “making a wish” with Murdoc’s legs (ouch!).
As Grimm hit the ropes, Fierce unceremoniously greeted the back of his head with a boot (“See? I can cheat too, bitch!”)
A flash of light would change the direction as Murdoc lit up Showtime (once tagged back in), and evidenced by “a patch of shiny, red, burned skin that wasn’t on the President’s once flawless face before.”)
Things broke down some in the chaos, and Murdoc would end up dropping Wryght with OBLIVION for the pinfall.
One of the more unique visuals was the tandem fire and glitter which generated an explosion, nearly catching Wryght and Grimm. This was a damn good match, and the odd couple pairing of Murdoc/Fierce worked really well together. Who knew? Lol.
The show concludes with PART 3 of Jury’s segment.
And his night concluded with a severely beaten St. Jury getting put into an ambulance and on his way to the nearest hospital. I loved the segment, Jesse. The conclusion was great.
