This will be short. I think.
I really enjoyed the opening segment. It plants the seeds of a potential Ford v Shane match, while also including the fact Grimm is owed a rematch. Some of Whitey's dialogue gave me laughs, which is ALWAYS appreciated. I felt the characters interacted well. Nice opening.
The only match I can comment on is the Underground. First, a huge congrats to Gabriel. I'm happy for Rick getting his first ever title (still a shocking fact). The match itself was another brutal one for the division that makes its bones on it. The writer did a good job keeping the action up with each getting their moment to shine. Multi person matches can be tricky to write. So kudos there.
The injury angle to write Alex Tamora out was smart. It also leaves the door open to a comeback feud with Alexa, when/if the handler makes it back (life doesn't always cooperate). It also gives Alexa another moment to boast about. And for NCM, I can relate to what's going on with Rick. That said, NCM still rocks and had a solid outing.
Ok...my seg is what it is. I have been finding it hard to get a creative footing since June, both because what I had planned wasn't going to work and more recently, having way too much stress going on in my own life. So yeah. I'll likely tweak a couple of other things and hope for the best.
The second Whitey Ford segment was funny as hell. Is that sort of comedy new to the character? Or has it always been a staple? Either way, appreciate the laughs. It was an honor to face you, good sir.
While I didn't write my lines for the contract signing, I approved what Dan provided. I enjoyed the segment as a whole and am looking forward to seeing if Gabriel becomes a double champion at RTG.
Onward to the Iceys and #EmilioEstevez!

Whitey Ford started off as a comedy super face, but I had just turned him heel in AWA and had success. When I came to pcw I kept the super heel for most of my tenure here, up until now. I'm glad you liked it, I weren't sure if people could ever get behind whitey being funny again.

Yes I'm a dick for not leaving feedback! I have no internet until Friday and typing on my phone pisses me off.

Late or not, and I don’t know what exactly constitutes “late” beyond self-imposed deadlines, this was another fine production. And I know we all appreciate the work of the “unsung heroes in the back.” Not only do they churn out quality results card after card, they make everyone look good regardless of performance in any particular cycle. Speaking of which, there were a few unfortunate no-shows for 215 – and we’ve seen at least a couple of those bow out of competition for now – but again, nobody got squashed. And even though we knew the outcome of those respective matches going in, they were still fun reads.
Hopefully these upcoming Icey Awards will give (some of) us the needed rest to come back in fighting shape, and ready to work with whatever size roster we have on any given day.
