OOC: A quick CD piece. I have something in mind for the show, so I decided to post this here instead of Around the Arena.

"What are you doing, sweetheart?"
Lucy has entered the room Seromine occupies as she asks. Where they are isn't for anyone but them to know. He's seated on the floor with his legs under a small white table. On this small white table is a piece of black construction paper. On this piece of black construction paper is a gold stick-figure rendition of Gerard Angelo.
There are white arrows pointing to his left knee. They double as pain indicators by being drawn wiggly. In bold lettering is the word OWIE!! Some of his head has been shaded in red to further highlight what he's feeling. Off to the side is the outline of a title belt in grey. A frown (two lines and a sad expression) is drawn where the faceplate would be.
At the top of the folded piece of paper is a bold header: GET WELL SOON, GERARD! A few of the aqua letters are turned backward and some appear crooked, but they're all there! Yay! Seromine breaks from what he's doing to hold the card up for Lucy to see. She reads the words silently and smiles at the little picture drawn.
"Oh, darling --- you make me so proud! But you've always made me feel special since the time you were born. My precious Jason. The greatest love of my life!"
"Aw. I love you to the moon and back, mommy!"
Seromine is handed his card. Lucy flattens her dress under her legs and then sits next to him.
"You always told me to never be mean to anyone. Do you think he'll like it?"
"Never be mean to anyone that didn't deserve it!" She innocently corrects. Seromine responds with "oh, yeah!" He then repeats what he said in a complete version.
"I'm sure he will! In fact, he'll probably be more grateful than Mr. Phinehas was."
Seromine pauses what he's scribbling. "Mommy. That's the mean man that hurt me. He hurt Gerard! He hurts everybody!"
He frowns. "Why does he do that?" Lucy cups his head with gentle care, bringing him closer to her.
"There are people like that in the world, unfortunately. People who shouldn't be, but are, because removing them the proper way is considered a crime. And we aren't those types, are we?"
Seromine shakes his head. Lucy continues stroking his hair. "Besides, there's lots of good people in the world --- life will weed out the bad!"
He feels relaxed by her comforting words. "Yeah! Life will...HARVEST them!"
Lucy laughs. "How about after you finish with your card, we go out for some ice cream? We can drop that off in the mail on the way. Would you like that?"
Seromine looks at her with an excited grin. "Double scoops?"
She rests her forehead against his. "Double scoops!"
"It's a date."
Her lips press against where her head had just been. Finding continued motivation, Seromine returns to drawing under the watchful eye of his mother. A mother who joins in on the activity.
