How is it affecting you guys? The shipyard I work at is trying to stop a complete shutdown but is letting anyone take unpaid time off without repercussions. I had a cough at work and they sent me home until I get a doctors note.

My show last Saturday held on but with a 200 attendance cap (which we were close to meeting) but that was before the 50 capacity cap. Unknown knows if that'll still be here a month from now for the next show.
Otherwise I've been told by my mom to shave my bear even though that whole "CDC says to shave your beard" thing was bullshit.
The store is out of ground beef so we'll have to use Omaha Steaks' burgers and ground them up as our meat (because it's easier and better anyway).
I'm still working like nothing's wrong so...
Oh, and Regal decided to close all their theaters so the Steven Universe: The Movie was cancelled for next Monday which dampened me.

I was working part time as loss prevention at Fred Meyer (local grocery that got bought out by Kroger) and the job was already totally not what I signed up for; checking people's receipts and confiscating food from would be shoplifters was not what I had in mind when I told them I was looking for part time hours that would work with my school schedule.
Then my college campus closed, and we've cut "school" back to 1 hour Zoom meetings a day until the finals in 2 weeks.
Washington State, and specifically around King County was where the first cases in the US showed up weeks ago so we've been tracking this and... this shit is kind of like a really mundane, annoying dystopia.
People panic, were still attempting to crowd into my store all weekend, there were multiple incidents of fighting over shelf items, we had to hire extra armed security guards, but the the most part it's just been old Boomers coming up to me and bitching that we have no carts for them to use because it's so busy and that we have no shipments of toilet paper.
As busy as it was, though, that also meant that shoplifting was going up, putting more strain on a job I already didn't really wanna do. I applied to work produce, loss prevention was just a third-choice "eh sure this is open too I'll add it to the list" for me.
Otherwise, all bars and restaurants are closing for two weeks, my family are mostly out of work or "work from home", and everyone is pissed that coffee shops are closed except for drive thrus.
So, yeah, a really annoying dystopia.

They actually let you stop people to check receipts there? In Maine a store can not legally stop you unless they have proof. Greeters can ask for the receipt but you can just ignore them and they can't do anything about it.

We are coached on how to do it, we can't stop people, but we can stand at the door and check receipts and we can call the loss prevention head and he can follow them, ask them to open their bag if they're suspicious or escort them out of the store. What I dont like is that he can get like... unnecessarily rough escorting people out the store, and claim that they were being aggressive. Dude is a fuckin cop through and through. And sure, maybe that's a plus in some situations working loss prevention, but I've been witness (pre-Corona) to this dude putting a homeless person stealing food from the deli in an armbar and walking them from the store because they were being "aggressive". It's definitely hard for everybody involved.

I work for the state and my division is supposedly going to start working from home next week. However, the IT department is scrambling to get everyone access to all the pertinent databases for that to happen, because, you know, this came out of nowhere (**rolls eyes**). Regardless, I have hoarded my sick time over the years so I'm staying home the rest of this week...meaning I will have to write my RP at home instead of the office, which will be a first.
Our Irish dance studio closed last week, so we've been doing virtual classes over Zoom. It's not ideal but we're making it work. I suspect my band will play together over Zoom or a similar platform in a few days.

My work just closed our office down today, and we are on "remote work only" indefinitely as they assess the situation day-to-day. I work from home from time to time, but for extended periods, I'm not a big fan. I was already stuck at home sick last week, so being stuck at home now while back at work is going to drive me up the wall.

I suspect my band will play together over Zoom or a similar platform in a few days. A lot of local bands around here had to cancel their shows. All of them, really. But they are also doing live streams of every show they were supposed to do for free to make it up to their fans. I think it's pretty cool.
Also, I'm noticing a lot of community coming together during this. The schools are offering free lunch to anyone who can come and get it (so much for avoiding human contact but still pretty nice.) A couple landlords are waiving rent until the end of April because a lot of families can't work because of a work or school shutdown. I can't remember what comedian said it, but the saying goes if you look out your window and not at your TV, the world is a lot less broken than you think it is.

Yeah, I watched the Dropkick Murphys play their annual St. Patrick's Day show last night to an empty theater, and I've got some other live streaming performance announcements saved so I can watch.
It would be great if everyone's neighborly attitudes last once this all passes. I sure hope they do.
Other than the effects of the virus itself, my big concern is that a lot of the cool little restaurants and shops that have had to close might not make it. If we do in fact get this stimulus money that they're discussing, we've already decided we're going to sit on it until places open back up and then hit as many of them as we can.

Weather was nice the last couple days, so was able to have windows open here at home. It's back down into the 30's again today, so back to that cabin fever feeling.

To answer Nate, I'm doing ok. My county was put under a shelter-in-place order 3 days ago and our Governor put the state under one yesterday.

I've been sick for the last couple of days. It's not gotten bad enough for me to go to the local hospital to get checked out, but I might have to risk it if these symptoms persist.
