Yeah, the nonsense that is going to happen everywhere when this is all over, and everyone is getting out of their houses and stuff, I'm probably going to isolate myself for an additional week, just to avoid the horde. But it definitely doesn't feel like it's still March at this point. Working from home, and fluctuating weather and all preventing me from even going outside comfortably around here, I'm definitely going to go kind of nuts. Plus, sitting at my computer for 8-12 hours a day for work, it's making me not want to sit here and play video games, which is going to drive me even more crazy... since I basically just meander around the house in the evenings waiting to get tired to go to bed, just to start it all over again. Oh, and my hands are so dry from obsessively washing them.

So because we're a lighting distributor and technically work with construction, we're still open albeit with our limited hours.

Maine is now under, or will soon be, shelter at home laws. We can only travel to essential places for gas, food, etc. Unfortunately for me, I'm still out of work but can hopefully return soon. Bath Irons Works is a Navy contractor and is deemed as an essential business for the country's defense. We are stocked up on food for the family and tomorrow I'll be good on both beer and smokes for a while. I really hope these precautions are just that; and we can return to our normal lives as soon as possible.
In the meantime, don't touch my chicken noodle soup or else.

So my wife's company, Salon Centric, just shut its doors in Maine indefinitely. No word on a return to work date. That could be a very big problem, because she makes 2/3rds of our houses income. I'm not going to lie to you guys, I'm starting to get a little scared now.

Kentucky started battening down the hatches last week, and has been making it easier to file for unemployment faster than usual, among other options that have been put in place to aid those whose employment has been affected by this thing. Hopefully Maine (and all the rest) are doing all they can, too.

Washington is under shelter laws except for essential employees. Luckily, I guess, my job is staying open, but the company has also cut the hours and people coming in so it's spread thin. LP division is, for the moment, still operating normally, but I gotta say that even though the hordes of people are slowing to a trickle, it is bringing out the real crazies. And the people who are obviously sick, which is a big fuckin concern for me because my job doesn't allow me any PPE (can't wear masks or safety glasses) other than the flimsy gloves they provide us.
What feels bad is... one of my nieces has a heart condition. If she gets exposed to this shit, it could get her bad. So every time I come to work now I'm so worried that this is gonna be the time I get infected, may already have been infected by one of the still dozens of people coming in at a time, or the homeless people coming in coughing.
Also the 3 adults in the house that worked to keep this ship afloat is down one source of income and that leaves me as just 1/3 so no pressure.

Stay-at-Home orders starting to go into effect for surrounding counties around where I live (the county that I used to live in before buying a house a couple years ago, and the one I work in), is starting to "shut down." But it's not going to be much different than it already was, it's just more official now.

So here's something I know will probably be a 50/50 reaction from people here, as it has been in my personal life. But I am absolutely honest to get sick of people bitching about social distancing on social media. I get it. We have been warned to not be within 6 feet of people. At the same time we're legally allowed to have social gatherings of 10 or less people. First off, that's a hard one to even type because legally we should be able to do what we want. Secondly, if you're at a party and you're six feet away from people then your party fucking sucks and you should stay home. At any given point if you're at a gathering, you're within six feet of someone.
ALSO, for fucks sake, if you want to stay six feet away from people, then you can't go out at all. No grocery shopping for cat food and beer. No being in a parking lot walking to the store. You sure as hell can't buy anything at all inside any fucking store because that means you're too close to someone.
I'm getting really angry because all over my facebook everyone is literally insulting people who have a few friends who they've been around, and only around them, since this shit started. But they still think it's different to carry about their regular lives except when they need to buy something. This whole virus is turning into a fear mongering extravaganza with absolutely no logic to it. Don't see a friend, but please go see Carl at register seven to buy a hundred packs of toilet paper.

At the grocery store I go to, they've taped off six feet at the checkouts and aisles now.

Maine goes under shelter in place quarantine effective Thursday. I'm going to go fucking insane. I guess the plus side is I can still work so I'll get some social interaction.

Three days into our stay in place order and there are still cars driving everywhere. It's really weird...like, things are just going on as normal besides the grocery stores only allowing 100 people inside at a time.

Yeah it seems like there was less people out right BEFORE they announced a stay-at-home order.
