Pure Class Wrestling Presents: Trauma 269
Friday April 10th, 2020
Jerry Andrews: Welcome everyone to Trauma for what is set to be an incredible evening! I'm Jerry Andrews and, of course, I'm joined by Ace Anderson as always. Ace, it's Icemann Invitational Tournament time!
Ace Anderson: Damn right it is! And I'm so excited! Let's take a look at those brackets again!
Jerry Andrews: Those are going to be some incredible matches and some personal, PERSONAL battles. And now to the ring for our first one!
Sasha Greene: This is a first round match in the Icemann Invitational Tournament and is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first. From Hangtown, Kentucky. Weighing 217 lbs, he...is...GRIMM!
Thump. Clap. Thump. Clap. An incessant electric tremolo. The deep end of a piano. The ebb and flow of a dissonant wail builds to a wall of noise as Zeal and Ardor’s “You Ain’t Coming Back (Instrumental)" breaks forth upon the masses, heralding the arrival of Grimm.
A lone silhouette steps out onto the entry way, and as it begins the long walk to the ring, candle wax drips onto the parchment. The lights fall into a pestilential throbbing, in and out of time with the discordance raging from the speakers. The Hangtown Horror remains deadset on the ring, steadfast in his approach. He climbs onto the apron and slides between the ropes. Hopping upon a turnbuckle, he casts his gaze out over the crowd with his arms at his side, eyes shifting to take in the sea of faces spread out before him. Grimm then drops down. And waits.
Sasha Greene: And his opponent...from Los Angeles, California. Weighing 200 lbs, ALEXA BLACK!
The crowd looks to the entrance way as Blood On My Hands roars out and they know who is coming out from backstage and they start booing loudly almost drowning out the music.
Alexa Black steps through the curtain, her face covered by a black mask with two Japanese Kanji in white. Death on the left and Pain on the right
Her head is covered by a hooded zip up jacket over a plain black t shirt and black tights with black wrestling boots with a red spider on the side of each boot. Her hands are covered by black gloves and around her neck a red back spider pendant.
She walks slowly down the ramp as the booing intensifies as the PCW faithful don't hold back their hatred of this evil woman
Alexa looks around at the PCW faithful who pack the stands and simply glares malevolently back at them as they jeer and boo.
She continues to walk down to the ring as the crowd grows louder and louder so even the announcers can't get a word in over the booing.
Alexa reaches the ring, climbs up on the ring apron and enters the ring.
The music fades out as Alexa stays in the ring and removes her mask, her cold eyes silently staring at her next victim.
Icemann Invitational Tournament First Round Match
Grimm vs Alexa Black
Referee: Eric Russo
DING!
DING!
DING!
Jerry Andrews: Alexa Black is back in PCW and, she may have an unfavorable draw, but Alexa fears nobody.
Ace Anderson: The same can be said of Grimm.
Alexa finds her inner state of violence as she begins to tense up. Grimm is unwavering in the tactic, his cold eyes finding their way to her black heart. She makes a dash for the Crimson Demon, but he's out of danger before harm is delivered. In the midst of getting behind her, Alexa is able to spin around into a sudden German suplex. As Grimm rolls back onto his knees, Alexa pounces with a violent boot. Grimm manages to capture her foot and in the process, twist her ankle into a takedown.
Alexa spins onto her back. With her free foot available, Grimm takes a kick to the face. He promptly absorbs it and delivers a stiff forearm to Alexa's face. All that does is make her laugh with an invitation to do it again. Then again. And again. Alexa laughs in Grimm's face as she takes him by the GingerBeard of DOOM! She pummels Grimm with all the fury reserved for David Hunter.
Grimm is unceremoniously dumped in a corner. As Alexa walks in, she's struck with a palm thrust to the midsection. It gets brushed off. The headbutt, however, does not. The opening allows Grimm to compress Alexa's spine with a header into the middle turnbuckle. Grimm rakes her back, then ducks under a wild back fist. A fireman's carry surprises Alexa. She blocks a running knee, but falls victim to a mule kick, putting her through the ropes.
Jerry Andrews: Scores may not be getting settled, but the anger they have for certain individuals isn't being kept in.
Grimm breaks an attempted chokeslam, but falls victim to it from the other hand. Alexa drops to the floor, takes Grimm sideways, and sends him into the crowd like he was a human frisbee. The remorseless Alexa Black wastes little time collecting him in the faithful. She cares nothing about their well being or lawsuits, so they either part or will become departed. Alexa is blasted with a savate kick, one that almost sees her trip over fallen fans. She promptly shakes it off and comes charging like a mad bull.
Grimm's leap frog is caught in mid-air. Powerbomb! Alexa lifts him up and gives him a running variety back over the rail. Action returns to the ring with Alexa still in control. Military press spinebuster! Alexa continues to target the back as she rag dolls Grimm off his feet with a mauling bear hug. He hits a series of bell claps to free himself, before Alexa catches a headbutt just above her left eye. Grimm pops his spine with loud cracking audibly heard as he does.
A flying shoulder block only puts Alexa on skates. A running back elbow makes her tipsy, but a flying lariat...is countered into a spinning sidewalk slam! Grimm is lifted into a torture rack, but he's able to drop out and get Alexa with a brainbuster! Grimm rolls over and hooks a leg.
1!
Alexa kicks out before it goes any further. Grimm takes her to a turnbuckle smash. Alexa shakes it off and proceeds to slam her own head over and over to show it does nothing to her. Grimm blocks having his own head slammed. An elbow is jammed into her ribs. She doesn't shake off a smash to the top of the post. Grimm goes for a reverse DDT, but Alexa turns around and runs Grimm to the far corner. A HARD whip back across collapses Grimm face first.
Jerry Andrews: She got all of that dropkick!
Ace Anderson: And maybe Grimm's teeth. I can already hear the stereotypical backwoods jokes now.
Alexa dishes out a particularly nasty Garvin stomp. The punctuation is on Grimm's back. Alexa fish hooks him while keeping pressure on his spine. He refuses to tap out, this despite being pulled awkwardly. Alexa grows bored and chooses to deliver an exploder suplex because she can. A jumping headbutt follows. Grimm throws a knife edge chop. Then a second. A third is caught, but Alexa is gasping for air with a karate chop to the throat.
Grimm knees her between the shoulders. Alexa falls right over the middle rope, opening the door for Grimm to reach in and begin choking her to death! Her head is craned down at an inhuman angle as he dishes his own brand of methodical violence, five count be damned! Alexa tumbles onto her back. Grimm puts the side of his boot into her throat as he continues to cut off her air supply. A slingshot under the bottom rope comes before another pin.
1!
2!
She powers out of that. Alexa is backed in a corner with a heavy shoulder strike to the midsection seconds after. Grimm suddenly has his arms bridged and knees driven to his chest. Alexa spins out of the corner with a butterfly suplex! She turns the hips and gives Grimm a double underhook suplex. Irish whip to the corner. Spear! Grimm is fired into the opposite corner. Avalanche! Grimm collapses to his hands and knees.
Jerry Andrews: The Concussion Special!
Ace Anderson: Welcome back, Alexa! That was just nasty.
Alexa antagonizes the faithful with terrifying aplomb as they boo her straight back to hell. A place that Satan is temporarily ruling while she's away. Grimm is untwisted out of his heap. Knee trembler is countered by a chop block! Alexa clutches her left knee in immediate pain, a rare sign that she can even feel any. Grimm puts himself back together with his eyes turning a deep, dark shade of blue. A sinister expression masks an otherwise cold gaze.
Alexa props herself up on her right leg and is immediately rammed backwards to the buckles. Grimm takes two handfuls of her hair, using it to bring her into Dead Reckoning. Alexa slumps, but remains partially upright thanks to her arms hanging over the top ropes. Grimm pulls her into a knee and follows with a pumphandle slam. He decides to go up top. Missile dropkick is swatted away! Running super kick is deflected into Foddershock!
Alexa gets Grimm in a Kimura lock! Grimm looks for the ropes, but Alexa drags them out to no man's land. Alexa savagely applies pressure. Grimm's arm is in the air. There's no sign of quitting, but the hand is wavering. Hangtown Death Grip!! Alexa's hold weakens, but she still has the submission locked. Grimm is able to shift his body weight...
1!
2!
3!
Alexa hold is just about loosened when the referee calls for the bell and gets them apart.
Sasha Greene: Here is your winner, Grimm!
The Hangtown Horror keeps his trapped arm close to his body and refuses to have his hand raised from his healthy side. He carefully gets out of the ring, leaving Eric Russo to get brutalized by an angry Alexa Black. The Toxic Shock is applied with no remorse as officials race in to save their colleague.
Jerry Andrews: Let him go already!
Ace Anderson: Go lend a hand, Jerry!
Alexa eventually relents and sends help scattering after she gets up. Even front row fans create distance from her as she walks up the ramp.
Sasha Greene: The following contest is a first round match in the Icemann Invitational Tournament and is scheduled for one fall!
The opening notes of "The Catalyst" by Linkin Park begins to play. A video game drop down menu opens and the cursor hovers over the options, "LOAD GAME, SAVE GAME" before coming to the first option, "START GAME" and highlighting it. Kyle Shane steps slowly out onto the stage, wearing a high waisted blue leather jacket with armored shoulder pads, lined scallops that meet in a spider insignia on the back, a high snapped up collar, and yellow lining on the inside reminiscent of Zane the Operative from Borderlands 3. The distinctive duo of Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda rises in tempo as it begins the call-and response:
"God bless us everyone,
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought, it can't be outdone,
It can't out matched, it can't be outrun,
NO!
And when I close my eyes tonight,
To symphonies of blinding light,
Like memories in cold decay,
Transmissions echoing away,
Far from the world of you and I,
Where oceans bleed into the sky..."
There are some that react negatively, annoyed by the flippy, arrogant, self-absorbed so-called Catalyst, but the vast majority of the fans in the aisle, having seen what he can do, rise to their feet in appreciation. Some on the sides of the aisles even make a fanning bow motion as Kyle walks by. Kyle stops halfway down the aisle, snapping the collar of the Zane cosplay jacket upright. He climbs onto the apron. Kyle balances one knee on the ropes, hanging on to the top for a moment, an infuriating smirk breaking across his face. As the song begins slowing down into Chester's solo, Kyle fluidly slips between the ropes, spins towards the entrance ramp and extends his arm fully out, his first finger and thumb pointed out in a pantomime of a cocked pistol, before he mouths the word "Bang" and lets the hammer down. Then he turns, removes the leather jacket and begins stretching for the match.
Sasha Greene: Introducing first, from Boston, Massachusetts: KYLE SHANE!
The lights in the arena all go out. A few seconds of pause hushes the arena before "The Night" by Aurelio Voltaire starts blaring on the PA speakers. As the guitar continues to play, a spotlight shines David Hunter as he steps out onto the stage. His arms are spread out, his chest exposed. When the guitar and violins start mixing towards the lyrics' beginning, the lights ebb in and out to the rhythm. Once the soothing sounds of Voltaire's voice begins to be heard, David looks up, a smirk adorning his face.
When the lights return to arena, David walks towards the ring, glancing at a lot of the fans as he passes by. A few want high-fives or just to touch him, but David stays just out of reach, taunting them along the way with fake tears or just avoiding their hands.
As he approaches ringside, he starts to head towards the steps, before taking a u-turn and jumping onto the apron. He climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stands tall, one foot on the top rope, another on the middle. He points towards the hard camera, giving it a wink and another smirk before resetting and hopping into the ring. He begins doing some quick warm-up stretches.
Sasha Greene: And his opponent, from Tampa, Florida: DAVID HUNTER!!!
Icemann Invitational Tournament First Round Match
David Hunter vs Kyle Shane
Referee: Tyrone Little Jr.
DING!DING!
DING!
David Hunter and Kyle Shane meet up in the center of the ring. The tension can be felt between the two of them.
Jerry Andrews: It feels like the ring is going to explode here, folks! This whole building is filled with tension.
Ace Anderson: David Hunter was responsible for Kyle Shane leaving PCW many months ago. And now he's back. There is nothing but hatred between these two men. It feels like they're going to rip each other apart.
Jerry Andrews: I have no doubt that they will!
The bell rings. Hunter pushes Shane backwards, into the corner. Kyle steps out. Hunter smiles and slaps him across the face. The crowd oooooohs.
Jerry Andrews: Oh man!
Ace Anderson: David Hunter isn't afraid of Kyle Shane! He's going to stop this comeback before it even gets started!
Hunter smiles. Suddenly Kyle leaps at him, taking his legs out from under him and tackling him down to the mat. Shane starts unloading on his opponent with closed fists, causing the referee to step in and break things up. Kyle Shane reluctantly stands up, and Hunter gets to his feet slowly. David Hunter walks into the corner to compose himself. Shane rushes at him hitting him with a series of strikes that backs him nto the corner. Shane then pulls Hunter out, sets him up, and delivers a strong Obsidian Block! Shane then pulls Hunter to his feet. He grabs him and hits Hunter with a double arm DDT! Shane then drops an elbow on Hunter.
Jerry Andrews: Shane really taking it to Hunter early on here!
Ace Anderson: David Hunter had to know that Kyle Shane was going to come back hot and motivated! He just needs to weather the storm. Kyle Shane may get tired out if this goes a long time. There could be some ring rust here.
Shane then pulls Hunter up to his feet once again. He Irish whips Hunter into the corner. Shane then walks towards Hunter. Suddenly, Hunter leaps out of the corner with a clothesline! Shane is still on his feet! Hunter runs off of the ropes. He returns with another clothesline! Shane staggers but he is still not down!
Jerry Andrews: Shane still on his feet! How is he doing this!?
Hunter bounces off of the ropes again. He then charges at Shane and he hits him with a shoulder tackle to the chest! Shane falls to the mat!
Ace Anderson: Now he’s down!
Hunter quickly drops an elbow onto Shane’s lower back! Hunter then stands up and he drops another elbow in the same spot!
Jerry Andrews: Hunter going after Shane’s back!
Ace Anderson: Smart move by Hunter! Kyle Shane is a weakened man and David Hunter is exploiting his injury!!
Hunter drives his knee into Shane's spine. And again. He then pulls Shane by the legs towards into the center of the ring. Hunter then grabs Shane’s leg and he locks him into Boston crab!
Jerry Andrews: Shane locked into a Boston crab right in the center of the ring!
Ace Anderson: Exactly what I was talking about! This is brilliant! Think of the pressure on Kyle Shane's lower back right now
The referee checks Shane, but he is not willing to submit. He is trying to pull himself across the ring, trying to get to the ropes. Hunter is trying to pulls back on the hold, trying to stop Shane from reaching the ropes.
Jerry Andrews: Shane trying to get to the ropes!
Shane is just inches from the ropes now. Hunter tries to stop him from reaching them, but Shane finally does! The referee starts the count and Hunter breaks the hold! Hunter stands up now. He pulls Shane to his feet and he hits him with a Russian leg sweep, sending Shane back down to the mat. David Hunter now locks him into a camel clutch!
Ace Anderson: Another brilliant move! David Hunter is reaching outside of his usual moveset and really punishing Kyle Shane's back tonight!
Kyle Shane struggles in the move, screaming out in pain, but not submitting. He finally manages to get his arms up and pry Hunter's fingers lose for long enough to break the hold. David Hunter immediately stands up and stomps away on Shane's spine. Hunter now climbs up to the second rope in the corner. He then leaps off of the ropes, dropping an elbow directly onto Shane’s back!
Jerry Andrews: I have to say, David Hunter’s game plan seems to be working perfectly here!
Ace Anderson: Of course it is!
Hunter climbs back up to the top rope this time! He then leaps off of the ropes again! This time Shane manages to turn and lift his leg up and he kicks Hunter right in the face!
Jerry Andrews: Out of nowhere Shane comes up with a big boot to the face!
Ace Anderson: But Shane can barely move! Look! David Hunter is already getting to his feet!
Shane clutches his back in pain. Hunter uses the ropes to get back up to his feet. He sees Shane grabbing his back and Hunter once again goes after it, stomping away. He now pulls the battered Kyle Shane up and hits him with a German suplex! He pulls him up again, but Shane surprises him with a strong elbow to the face. David Hunter is staggered. Shane stumbles backward, using the ropes to keep himself up. Hunter charges at Shane, but Shane mows him down with a vicious clothesline! However Shane then falls to the mat, clutching his back once more.
Jerry Andrews: Kyle Shane is in bad shape here!
Ace Anderson: What a shame.
Shane slowly stands up. Hunter is on his feet as well. Shane slowly walks towards Hunter before Hunter can attack. Shane grabs Hunter’s head and he DDTs him down to the mat! Shane stands up slowly, using the ropes once again. Shane then pulls Hunter halfway up and he hits him with a pulling piledriver. Shane now goes for a cover:
1……
2……
Jerry Andrews: Kickout by Hunter!
Ace Anderson: But that move had to hurt Shane's back!
Shane then pulls Hunter back up to his feet. Suddenly Hunter swings and manages to hit Shane with a shot to the spine!
Jerry Andrews: Just like that Hunter is back in charge! Kyle Shane is down again and he looks hurt!
Ace Anderson: These guys are taking out all the stops in this match!
Hunter stops to catch his breath. He then pulls Shane back up to his feet. Kyle Shane shoves him, sending him out of the ring and through the ropes to the outside!
Jerry Andrews: Hunter on the outside now! Wow!
Ace Anderson: Kyle Shane has bought himself some time now, with Hunter on the outside, but it looks like it will only be a matter of time. Shane can barely stand!
Shane slowly gets back up to his feet. He slowly slides out of the ring, to where David Hunter is using the ring apron to pull himself back to his feet. Shane stands behind Hunter and he clotheslines him in the back! Hunter is crushed between Shane’s arm and the apron!
Jerry Andrews: There was NO give there! Hunter just crashed into the side of the ring!
Shane now grabs Hunter and he throws him back into the ring. Shane follows. Shane pulls Hunter up and he sets him up for a suplex, but he can't lift his opponent. His back is too weak. Hunter fights back, hitting Shane with several strong strikes that send him back into the corner. He grabs Shane and Irish whips him HARD across the ring. Shane hits spine-first and falls to the mat!
Jerry Andrews: Kyle Shane looks to be in too much pain to even perform a move!
David Hunter pulls Kyle up, but Shane quickly rolls him up!
1……
2……
Jerry Andrews: Kickout by Hunter!
Ace Anderson: Kyle Shane almost stole one there!
Shane struggles back up to his feet, using the ropes. Hunter is up now as well. Suddenly Shane runs at him and hits a running Sling blade neckbreaker!
Jerry Andrews: Goddess White Sword!!!
Shane crawls toward his opponent and drapes his arm over him:
1...
2....
Ace Anderson: David Hunter kicks out!
Shane slowly stands up and he lifts him up for a vertical suplex! He stumbles backwards, however, leaning on the ropes as he lifts Hunter into the air Shane then falls backwards, over the ropes, to the outside, taking David Hunter with him! Both men are out now!
Ace Anderson: OH MY GOD!
Jerry Andrews: Both men just flipped over the ropes to the outside! They landed really awkwardly! There could be some serious injuries here!
Ace Anderson: Again, Shane’s back was too weak to finish the move!
The referee has started to count. He’s at 5! David Hunter is on his feet first. He grabs the weakened Shane and he slowly drags him to his feet. The referee’s count is at 8. Hunter throws Shane into the ring and he follows. Hunter pulls Shane up to his feet.
Ace Anderson: David Hunter may be hurt from that fall, but he smells blood. He wants to end this right now, just look at his eyes.
He pulls his opponent out and suddenly Shane grabs him! He hits another Obsidian Block!
Jerry Andrews: Out of nowhere!
Ace Anderson: But can Shane make the cover!?
David Hunter is down on the mat. Shane slowly covers him:
1....
2....
Jerry Andrews: Kickout!!!
Kyle Shane slowly stands up. He pulls David Hunter up.... Hunter shoves him backwards. Kyle falls to one knee!
Jerry Andrews: Ode to Frank!
Ace Anderson: Where did that come from!?
Shane falls to the mat. David Hunter goes for a cover:
1……
2……
Jerry Andrews: No! Kickout!!!
Ace Anderson: So close!!
David Hunter pulls Kyle Shane up.... Pele kick! Hunter falls to the mat. So does Shane. Hunter gets to his knees as Kyle Shane pulls himself up. Shane suddenly runs at him!
Jerry Andrews: CRIT!!!
Kyle Shane falls on David Hunter for a cover:
1....
2.....
3!!!
Jerry Andrews: Kyle Shane wins!
Shane uses the ropes to get back to his feet, he then immediately falls down, holding his back.
Hunter is on his feet now. He looks over to see Shane, who is holding onto the ropes and trying to pull himself back up. Hunter slowly walks over towards Shane as he stands up and stands face-to-face with him. He puts his fingers up close to one another as if to say "It was that close" before snapping them. He smirks and turns away..... before turning back and clotheslining Kyle Shane over the ropes to the outside!
Jerry Andrews: Oh come on!!!
David Hunter smiles as the referee leaves the ring to check on the injured Shane.
PCW's go-to backstage interviewer, Shane Dodge, finds himself with another assignment for the evening.
Dodge: Ladies and Gentlemen, the PCW Underground Champion, Jas---
His introduction is DOA. Jason Willard steps into the shot with the title fastened around his waist. But it's not as the childlike mama's boy. It's as THE ANARCHIST. He's not without company. Destiny Willard enters the shot from Shane's right, putting the nervous interviewer between them.
The enormously loud booing does nothing but invite a call to get louder. Shane puts on his best look of professionalism and proceeds with the segment.
Willard: What did you do now, Dodge? The crowd seems awfully upset with you.
Destiny doesn't allow a response. She pulls the microphone in her direction.
Destiny: Not his job, babe. It's like he was ashamed to say your name.
Shane is jerked to the left by the champion's aggressive pull.
Willard: Is that what it is? After all these years, you can't say "The Anarchist" Jason Willard?!
Dodge: I---I was just surprised by the switch is all!
Jason and Destiny look at one another and determine whether or not that's the truth. This after a moment of mocking.
Willard: Do you think he likes surprises, hun?
Destiny: I think he does.
Willard: Really likes them?
Destiny: Really REALLY likes them!
Her voice is deceptively friendly as she answers. Shane nervously looks around, expecting the worst to come from this. Willard turns Shane around so that they are face-to-face.
Willard: Relax, Shane. You can trust us. We aren't going to do anything to you.
That doesn't alleviate anything. Destiny turns him towards her.
Destiny: But she is.
Shane is spun around and pushed into a wicked chair shot to the head by a youthful assailant. She closely resembles Destiny, but isn't without some of her Jason's features.
Willard: I keep hearing people talk about the future over and over and decided it was time to introduce someone who is exactly that. Say hello to my daughter, Kristen!
Kristen grins at the camera before laying Shane's head on the dented steel chair. She then joins her parents in a family hug. The proud looks on their faces show they are elated with what she did.
He continues.
Willard: Everything I've done in my career has led to this point. Everything that has happened across five years has led to closing the circle. There is ONE person left for me to take care of. STORMM! I don't give a fucking shit about who wins the tournament and what champion they choose to go after.
In fact, I don't even want your title! I've allowed you to run from your big mistake long enough and now I'm going to pay you back in full. So whenever you decide to quit hiding in the shadows, I'll be there to put an end to the Michaels name.
The family looks at the medical attention Shane is receiving before they walk away from the set. The scene returns to ringside.
Sasha Greene: The following contest is a first round match in the Icemann Invitational Tournament and is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first...
Synthesizers explode from the speakers and the arena is plunged into darkness. Red strobes begin pulsating in time with the music and after about thirty seconds or so, Holden strolls out from the back.
Sasha Greene: Making his way to the ring, standing at six feet, five inches tall! He weighs in at three hundred and twenty-five pounds! He is Holden Roooooosssssss!
Holden makes his way down to the ring, ignoring the fans, apparently all business. He ascendes the ring steps and takes a few steps along the apron before wiping his feet. He enters through the ropes and proceeds to his corner and hands off his jacket to Tabitha with a wink and a smile.
Sasha Greene: And his opponent! From Boston, Massachusetts. Weighing 159 lbs, BRENNA GORDON!
The overhead lights dim as the opening notes of 'What The Water Gave Me' come forth from the sound system. Hidden spotlights and overhead rigs illuminate the arena in the deep blues and purples of a sky on the verge of going fully dark, a fine mist seeping its way upward through the grating of the stage and ramp as smoke of a similar weight falls from the ceiling to come as close to replicating the lands which gave rise to myths and the ancestors of the young woman that is about to emerge. Audio editing means that the song goes straight to the chorus, the ephemeral voice of Florence Welch only serving to add to the ambiance being created that is equal parts serene and unsettling.
So lay me down... let the only sound be the overflow.
Pockets full of stones.
So lay me down... let the only sound be... the overflow.
Pockets full of stones.
So lay me down... let the only sound be... the overflow.
As the song launches itself into the bridge after the chorus, the lights surrounding the curtain suddenly flash into being in time with the beat-- the ghostly shade of blue the same hue one would associate with magic suddenly gracing the world with its presence. It is amidst these flickering bursts of illumination that Brenna Gordon steps through the curtain and into view, her movements languid and slow despite the obvious tension in her frame. Purposeful steps carry her to the top of the ramp as she gazes out at the area with a carefully neutral expression, the dark-haired female coming to a stop to survey arena and audience alike.
'Cause they took your loved ones-- but returned them in exchange for you.
But would you have it any other way?
Would you have it any other way?
You couldn't have it any other way.
But would you have it any other way?
Would you have it any other way?
You couldn't have it any other way.
The roaring cheers come crashing upon her, but Brenna doesn't so much as flinch.
'Cause she's a cruel mistress and a bargain must be made.
But oh, my love, don't forget me when I let the water take me...
But oh, my love, don't forget me when I let the water take me...
Advancing down the ramp with that same deliberate grace, the fans on either side of the aisle are ignored-- rather, Brenna's attention is solely focused upon the ring. It isn't until she's near the bottom of the ramp that she is breaking that control, a promise of her blinding speed revealed when she dashes forward to slide into the ring... and a glimpse at her agility revealed in how she leaps and shifts position to ensure she does so feet-first. Skidding to a stop upon her knees, Brenna climbs to her feet and makes her way over to her corner. As the music fades and the overhead lights reclaim their grip upon the arena, she remains impassive, waiting for the bell to ring.
Icemann Invitational Tournament First Round Match
Brenna Gordonvs Holden Ross
Referee: Ed Lane
DING!
DING!
DING!
Jerry Andrews: I've just been informed that Gerard Angelo and David Hunter are BARRED from ringside!
Ace Anderson: That's unfair to Holden! What if Brenna were to have assistance??
Jerry Andrews: When has that ever happened during a match? Get real.
Brenna shows off her quickness from the get go as she creates some distance between her and the much larger Holden Ross. She hits a pair of quick strikes to his legs, but is promptly pie-faced into having a seat. She rolls away from an incoming stomp and in the process, tries to get a drop toe hold. Holden swings her off with ease, but Brenna shows cat-like reflexes.
Holden is taunted into a charge. Brenna springboards off the ropes with a perfect backflip. Her boots find their mark on his back, pushing Holden through to the edge of the ring. Brenna waits for him to reposition. Another springboard, this time out of the corner, gets her a rotating uppercut. To the next corner and now comes a dropkick.
Jerry Andrews: Brenna has the Human Wrecking Ball flustered!
Holden swipes at her from under the bottom rope, but Brenna stomps on his forearm before kicking it back at his face. She backs away from the ropes, forcing Holden to come and get her if he wants to do something about it. Holden is baited into a rolling back heel kick, dropping him to a knee. Brenna has a seat on the top turnbuckle, but is quickly pushed off. Unfortunately for Holden, she traps his arm over the top rope!
Holden muscles her in the air with that one arm as Brenna is introduced to the corner with a spine rattling smash over the top turnbuckle. Holden readjusts her position so that he now has her pressed high over his head. Brenna resists and is able to take away one of his limbs, but his power advantage is too much for her. Brenna crumples in the corner favoring her back as Holden shakes his arm off.
Jerry Andrews: Brenna is going to have to neutralize his strength if she's going to be successful.
Ace Anderson: Just like Holden has to keep her from using speed.
Brenna is FLUNG into the lights with a hip toss out of the corner. She doesn't stay down for long due to a high tolerance for pain, but she's definitely feeling it. Holden arrogantly moves in to repeat the process. Brenna takes him down with a cross armbreaker! Holden drives her to a break via powerbomb. Brenna latches on again! This time Holden readjusts so that she's crushed under a world's strongest slam! He hooks the legs.
1!
2!
Shoulder! Holden locks Brenna in a full nelson. In one heave she's lifted in the air, but instead of a slam she turns things around with a triangle choke. Holden presses her head in the canvas as his face begins turning red. A series of strikes weakens Brenna's grip long enough for him to land a pumphandle driver. Brenna is swung to a corner. She collides hard off the buckles. Holden sits her up on the top buckle, following with a superplex! Holden carries it through into another suplex and then a jackhammer. He pins.
1!
2!
Brenna refuses to stay down! The faithful rally behind her, so Holden shuts them up with a trio of clotheslines, the last of which folds Brenna in half. Holden keeps her that way as he delivers a buckle bomb. He misses a charge! Brenna fights through back pain in order to stun with a running knee to the head. Spinning leg sweep! Brenna floats to a mount. A torrent of strikes to the head go unchallenged as her rage pumps through her fists.
Jerry Andrews: Holden is getting more than he bargained for!
Ace Anderson: She just put him down with Crash the Shore!
Brenna hooks a leg.
1!
Holden throws her off. Brenna waistlocks him and in one effort, shows off her own power by landing a German suplex! It temporarily strains her back, but she's got Holden in trouble. She pulls him up and hits the ropes. Knee trembler! She goes to the far ropes...
Ace Anderson: Brenna must feel like asphalt because she just got STEAMROLLED!
Holden shakes the cobwebs loose before he goes to retrieve Brenna. He puts an elbow into the middle of her spine. She's lifted. Sins of the Father! Holden covers.
1!
2!
3!
The bell is rung and cheers die.
Sasha Greene: Here is your winner, Holden Ross!
Jerry Andrews: What a huge win for Holden Ross and.... wait... wait... wait.... what's he doing!?
Holden Ross has Brenna Gordon over his head! He throws her over the top ropes! She clears the ringside area and lands in a heap on top of some of the fans!
Ace Anderson: Holden Ross just threw Brenna Gordon from the ring all the way out into the PCW Faithful!
Jerry Andrews: Oh my God! Someone has to check on her! And those fans! We need medics out here right away!
"The Bastard" flexes his guns at the camera before demanding that the referee raises his arm. He holds up an index finger, mouthing "one down, two to go." PCW medical staff rush down to the ringside area to check on Brenna and the members of the audience that she was tossed onto.
Jerry Andrews: Well.... Pandaemonium has a representative after all. With his win tonight, Holden awaits the winner of the Last Chance Battle Royal.
Ace Anderson: What if David or Gerard were to win? That could be trouble in paradise.
Jerry Andrews: We could also see a rematch of this match at Living A Legacy! We'll find out next Trauma who will complete the field!
Ace Anderson: I don't want there to be trouble with Pandaemonium!
