* The scene opens and Maddog is shown walking to a room full of high school wrestlers. Maddog goes up and shakes the coach’s hand.
Maddog: Hey coach how are you doing?
Coach: Fine Maddog see you made it back from Iraq in one piece. Seen you are back to wrestling as well.
Maddog: Yeah! Wrestling is like a drug once you start wrestling you just can’t quit and when you’re away from it it’s like it calls to you.
Coach: Yeah I saw your first match back you was sucking wind. And well you looked nervous out there.
Maddog: Yeah I am going to make up for that match this week. I am hoping to have the tables be turned this time around. Bet you wish you still had me on the team.
Coach: Well tell you the truth Maddog if you were as good then as you are now hell yeah. When you was with me you had heart and that’s what won your matches. Now you got skill and have learned with every action there is a reaction. I remember the first match you wrestled here for me when you got your name Maddog. You went out there and had so much heart and determination then the your opponent gave you a wicked crossface and made your nose bleed you got pissed and well ripped him apart. And from then on I called you Maddog and well the name stuck.
Maddog: Yeah the good ole days. Yeah back then it was the hot cheerleaders chanting my name and the people in the stands and the guys on the team. Now I have thousands of fans chanting for me at the arenas I perform in. Back then I drove a piece of shit Buick that didn’t run half of the time now I am driving a Hummer H2. So got any good stars on the team this year?
Coach: A few but we will just have to see how they do. Yeah and you got all of those nice things from paying your dues. That is something I have always tried to instill on my wrestlers you know that.
Maddog: Yeah I remember you telling me all of the time in order to be successful you got to pay your dues got to keep practicing and keep working out. And if I had wrestled my opponent that I faced already in the season you would always have me watch there tapes see my mistakes as well as there’s and capitalize on them. Mind if I work with them a bit?
Coach: Just don’t hurt them.
* The coach calls all of the wrestlers to the front of the wrestling mat. A wrestler walks up to Maddog.
Wrestler: Your Maddog you’re the guy who Coach always talks about.
Maddog: He talks about me hopefully all good.
Wrestler: Well yeah just said that this program has made you what you are today.
Maddog: Well he is right in a way it has been a big part of my life that and well the military.
Wrestler: You going to show us a few things Maddog?
Maddog: Of course came here to put back into the system that has helped made me what I am today.
Wrestler: Cool!
* The wrestler goes and sits back down on the wrestling mat with the other wrestlers.
Coach: Everyone as probably all of you already of you know this here is Maddog he just got back from Iraq wrestled here at this school for me and is now a professional wrestler and wrestles for PCW. I am going to turn over the rest of the practice over to him. I am not going to tell you to listen to him because if you don’t I am sure he will take care of you. Believe it or not this guy use to wrestle the 125 pound weight bracket here. Well Maddog the practice is yours.
* The Coach walks out of the practice room and Maddog takes charge of the practice.
Maddog: So how long have you guys been practicing tonight?
* A wrestler answers up and tells him they just started and was doing there warm ups when he showed up.
Maddog: That’s good I came at the right time. Ok I want to get are stamina up so lets go into the gym and do some line sprints.
* The wrestlers start to moan and groan about the mentioning of line sprints.
Maddog: You guys want to moan and groan well about doing line sprints then first thing we are going to do before we do the line sprints is a drill I like to call the pyramid drill. Basically you start off by doing 25 pushups then the next time you do twenty four, twenty three and so on.
* The wrestlers start to moan and groan again.
Maddog: You do know I am going to do them with you too. So I will be sucking just as much wind as you will but what don’t kill you makes you stronger remember that guys.
* Maddog and the wrestlers all get down and do the pyramid drill.
Maddog: Ok shake off your arms and lets go into the gym for those line sprints guys. I don’t want to hear you guys wining and crying I am going to do them with you just like I did the pyramid drill. And well you don’t hear me wining and crying about doing that.
* Maddog takes the wrestlers all in the gym and they start to all do line sprints and Maddog starts to do them with them. They do twenty sets of line sprints Maddog gives the wrestlers a ten minute break to get a drink and Maddog looks into the camera.
Maddog: I am going to make sure that I am in shape and know my opponents this week. I already studied my opponents now it’s time to get my self into a bit better shape. But speaking of my opponents Non Compose Mentis and myself both think of ourselves as crazy individuals. But if you ask me the difference between us both being crazy is simple his crazyness is an act when mine is nothing more but a fact. You see I had tests done on my brain and they told me straight up I wasn’t all there in the head. Matter of fact when I joined the army I had to get a waver just to be able to sign up. I mean any guy who volunteers to go and fight when they have bullets flying at them is got to be crazy. And well that is exactly what I did when I joined the military. Non Compose Mentis, Jorge you both think that I am afraid of you well your both wrong. Matter of fact if you both where over in Iraq and had bullets flying at you I bet you both would be scared shitless. You see that is one weakness that I have found in both of you. You both show fear at times where I believe in there is nothing to fear but fear itself. You see I realize that we all are going to die at one point in time so therefore I do not fear death. I do not fear anyone else for the simple fact is that they are human just like me and bleed just like me and will die just like me. I mean seriously to me fear is just another four letter word.
* Maddog takes his hand and wipes some sweat off of his face.
Maddog: See how much I am sweating now well I have sweat more sweat and lost more blood in this business then both of my opponents combined. I have made sacrifices in this business to give myself a good name and there is no way in hell I am going to lose my good name here in this business just because I have been out for a year and have a little ring rust. I am not going to play dead for anybody but I gauren damn tee you that once I have proven myself here in PCW both of my opponents this week will be like my little bitch’s and be willing to fetch me anything I damn well please them to.
* Maddog walks back into the wrestling room and the wrestlers are starting to come back from there drink break. One of the wrestlers walks up to Maddog.
Wrestler: Hey Maddog Coach yells at me all of the time on the mat to do some move called the Maddog face basher. And well he says it’s a move that you use to use and well we haven’t practiced it yet. I was wondering if the person the move was named after could demonstrate it for us.
Maddog: Sure man we can do that.
* The wrestlers all gather around Maddog and the Coach walks back into the room. And Maddog looks over towards the Coach.
Maddog: Coach you came just in the nick of time I was about to demonstrate the Maddog face basher. And well I am going to need someone to demonstrate it on and your just the person.
Coach: Why don’t you get one of the other wrestlers to demonstrate it on.
* Maddog starts to laugh.
Maddog: Because paybacks are hell Coach I remember when I was only 125 pounds and you would always pick little me to demonstrate moves on now its your turn for me to demonstrate a move on you.
Coach: Ok Ok since you put it that way.
* Maddog demonstrates the move and when he does he ends up giving the Coach a bloody nose. The Coach is pinching his bloody nose with his shirt.
Maddog: Oh I am sorry Coach seriously didn’t mean to hurt you.
Coach: No it’s ok. See guys that move is very effective and you just learned from the best.
* The wrestlers start to practice the Maddog face basher.
Maddog: Now Coach how about I show them the Final Bite?
Coach: No! Oh hell no!
* Maddog starts to laugh again.
Maddog: I wouldn’t show them that move anyways because well it’s illegal in high school wrestling just wanted to see what you would say. But anyways just to let you know looks like you are going to have a good team this year.
Coach: Thanks Maddog hope to see you come to one of our meets sometime.
Maddog: If I get time you know I will be there.
Coach: So how many of the guys do you still talk to and keep in touch with that was back in on the team back in your day?
Maddog: A few not very many but a few I mean I don’t talk to them on a regular bases but I see one of them from time to time. Anyways Coach I’ve got to get going now got some other stuff to do.
Coach: Ok later Maddog take care and good luck this week hopefully you can get that big W on the board this week.
Maddog: I sure hope so Coach I sure hope so. But anyways I’ve got to finish up this practice you put me in charge of.
Coach: Ok Maddog just don’t kill them they do have a meet in a few days.
Maddog: Ok Coach I promise I wont kill them.
* Maddog takes and calls the wrestlers back up infront of him.
Maddog: So did you all like that move?
Wrestler in sequence: Hell Yeah!
Maddog: Good good now we are going to work on our abs we are going to do some flutter kicks then some sit ups and crunches. We are going to start off with doing some flutter kicks for ten minutes then after that we will do as many sit ups as we can do in five minutes then after that as many crunches we can do in five minutes. They start by doing the flutter kicks for five minutes and then they do the sit ups and crunches for five minutes after words they all surround Maddog. Sweat is dripping from all of there body’s and there clothes look as if they had just taken a shower in them.
Maddog: I am not going to work you any harder today beings you guys have a meet in a few days but I want you guys to know if you get out there in a match and you are lax because you think your opponent is a pushover one of these days you will get burned and will come back to haunt you. That is something I had to learn the hard way and I learned it last week in my debut match in PCW losing it. So right now all of the other superstars think I am some sort of pussy. And well you don’t want everyone thinking you are a pussy you want that guy to come off the mat and say man that guy just beat the shit out of me hope I don’t have to face him again. Because then he will tell everyone else how tough you where which makes people fear you. But I am sure coach has taught you all not to have fear I know he did me. Well guys good luck in your season this year hope to catch one of your meets got to go now. Have to go catch a flight in a few hours got to shower before I go.
* Maddog signs a few autographs then he waves goodbye and walks out of the gym and through the school where a bunch of pictures are and it shows a picture of a skinny Maddog and the rest of the wrestling team back in Maddog’s high school days. Maddog turns and looks deeply into the camera.
Maddog: Things seemed so simple then. Actually they still are it’s just that the competition has gotten tougher since I became a professional. But one thing has never changed I still have it and am very much capable of winning and I guess that’s what I am going to have to prove to everyone else. Matches use to be a pride thing and well for a while I kind of lost track of that. I think coming here has gotten me on the mind track I need to be to do what I have to do to pick up my first victory in PCW. Jorge, Non Compose Mentis Beware of the dog because he is coming this week to maul both of you. I am tired of being considered a rookie here in PCW it’s time for me to prove everyone else differently. It’s time for me to be the Maddog the fans who have watched for years know, not the Maddog everyone here in PCW thinks I am. It’s time to open up some eyes. Boy would I hate to be my opponents this week. It’s time for everyone to see what the Final Bite can do.
* Maddog walks out of the school and hops into his Hummer H2. The scene fades as Maddog starts up his Hummer H2 and you hear the bass from his stereo system and smoke coming from his tires as he peels out in the parking lot and drives off.
Maddog: Hey coach how are you doing?
Coach: Fine Maddog see you made it back from Iraq in one piece. Seen you are back to wrestling as well.
