[The scene opens with a view of an open door that appears to be padded on the inside. Around the door there are stood 4 security guards, all dressed in their conventional navy blue uniforms with black tie and belt.
The environment appears to be filled with dust and the walls of the building are blankly gray with no variety between them. The men have blank looks on their faces as they await an order from their superiors.
There is suddenly movement as a doctor walks past us and into the open room. We follow him to see what is going on. As we turn to look into the room we notice the arm of a man lying out on a padded floor. The arm is barely moving and appears to stir up and down slightly as if barely conscious.
The doctor is seen checking on the man who seems to be close to being out cold. As the doctor moves around so that he is nearer a second doctor that was already in the room, we notice who the man is, Sean.
As he is being checked on, a shadow is cast into the room by two further men who appear at the door. One of these men is dressed in the Security guard’s uniform and the other is dressed in a gray-brown suit with a red tie. We realize that this man is the same gray haired, spectacle wearing, goatee bearded man that we have seen before, it is ‘Dakota’.
Dakota is stood at the door with a worried look on his face. He turns to the guard next to him as he begins to speak….]
Guard: So what exactly happened here?
Dakota: Mr. Rhodes was involved in an incident where he was becoming aggravated and when one of your guard entered the room, which he shouldn’t have done, Sean attacked the guard and we had to sedate him….
Guard: Why was he getting aggravated?
Dakota: He was apparently shouting at an imaginary person when the guard entered the room….
Guard: Couldn’t he have been making it up? He could have been trying to escape…..
[Dakota is about to speak when Sean begins to murmur to himself….]
Sean: (Quietly) I don’t want to listen to you……
Shut up…..
[The two men look at each other in confusion…..]
Guard: Now he’s definitely making this up….
Dakota: I don’t think so….
Guard: Why?
Dakota: With the amount of sedative we gave him I’m surprised he can even speak never mind make up stories about an invisible man….No, This is serious…..
[Sean seems to come around slightly and seems to look at Dakota….]
Sean: I need help…..
Guard: You sure do kid…..A lot of it…..
Dakota: Be quiet…..
[Dakota picks something out of his pocket….]
Dakota: Here….Take these….
[He hands over two small white pills to Sean who tiredly lifts his hand to his mouth and throws the pills in before swallowing them….]
Sean: Thanks doc….
[Sean then tries to pull himself up to his feet using the padding on the wall but cant as the affects of the sedative are still present.]
Dakota: We’re going to keep you under special attention for a couple of days but you still have to stay in here…..
Sean: No…..you cant leave me in here….You cant…..You just cant…..
Dakota: Sean…..you’re staying in here and you aren’t coming out until its time….
Why don’t you want to stay here?
Sean: He’s here…..
Dakota: Who?
Sean: Him……I don’t know his name….
[Dakota seems to notice the fear in Sean’s eyes and voice….]
Dakota: Sean……I’m going to put you in the infirmary……Just don’t do anything there OK….Its my job on the line…..
Sean: Thank you…..
[The scene slowly fades to black as Dakota gives an acknowledging nod and walks off after signaling for Sean to be taken to the infirmary.]

[The scene reopens and we start by looking down a filthy alley in the blazing midday sun. The old dustbins and newspapers are the only furniture that appears in our view and the flimsy flight of stairs leading to a fire escape.
As we looks into the distance, we can see the exit to the alley. We notice that many people are walking past as they go about their everyday lives. A rustle of newspaper is heard behind a corner that turns left that is near to us.
We look on as, from behind the corner, Non Compos Mentis walks out into our view and looks at us. He is wearing his characteristic Jean shots, ripped T-Shirt, Denim jacket and old boots. He then looks up at the building in reminiscent thought.
He then looks back at us….]
Non Compos Mentis: Oh, I remember this place….
For bad reasons though…..
The first escape attempt I had ended here….Got hit around the head with a baton…..
That hurt….a lot….
Anyway…..Enough about that…..
Maddog…..You have annoyed me in recent times by your constant refusal to accept my madness….
You see….You say you had tests done…..So did I…..
You say you had to sign a wave to get into the Army…..I don’t care about that…..
What I do care about is that you say my madness is an act….
Let me remind you of something…..I was only released from this place because of an administrative error…..Hell, I’m taking one hell of a risk just turning up here….
They could just come out and take me inside and reclassify me…..that’s how easily they could put me back in there because they know that I am still mad….
You say that you are mad…..You aint been in an asylum have you….
You have only been told that you ‘aren’t all there’….I have been told that I would never re-enter society because I was a danger to everyone I met…
[Behind Mentis, we see the fire escape door open silently. As we look on we see a man emerge and continue to stand by the now fully open door. He is wearing a Gray suit with a red tie and appears to be a rather elderly gentleman.
Meanwhile, Mentis remains unaware of his watcher….]
Non Compos Mentis: Now Maddog…..You have also said that if I were to go to Iraq, I would be scared shitless…..
Now that wasn’t your opinion…..you said it was a matter of fact….
Well….I want to know where you get your research…..
You really don’t know much do you Maddog…..
During my time on the streets I have seen, heard and experienced many things…..One of which is getting shot at…. I have actually got shot twice but I have been shot at a hell of a lot more….
By Gangsters, thugs, fellow homeless people…..
I have been shot at with a shotgun….Handgun…..uzi….and on one occasion an old single shot rifle from the time when I tried to rob it and…well….failed…..
Thank god the guy was a bad shot…..
I know you’re probably going to say that you’ve been shot twenty times and removed all of the bullets yourself….but you know what….I DON’T CARE….
This aint about how many times you’ve been shot at….It aint about whether or not we’re mad….
This is about who is the best wrestler between Me, you and Jorge….
And lest we forget that I have already picked up a victory against you Maddog….
And to remedy another thing that you have said….I never feared you before, during or after our match…..
Sure you can give your aging Coach a bloody nose and scare the crap out of a bunch if useless amateur teenagers….
NEWSFLASH MADDOG…..I aint no damn elderly Has-been, I aint no damn Amateur school kid that never will be….
MADDOG…..you had better prepare yourself….And you too Jorge….Because I will take you all to hell and back….
I will take my anger out on you two….and believe me that is a lot of anger….
And I will inflict pure sin and revenge on your souls……
For I am Non Compos Mentis…..
The Usher of Destruction…..
[The man on the fire escape walks back through the door but this time makes a slight noise that attracts the attention of Mentis. He turns around just in time to see the door close ad see the back of the man’s head.
