I never liked Bret Hart. I know and love CM Punk.

Hart, obviously.
I hate that Punk is a straight edge (in real life too), but he'll do roids.

*does the Bret Hart coming out of entrance tunnel strut*
Bret very well may be the best there ever was.

Showtime, no he doesn't.
Ice, just... no. He had a cool entrance, that's about it. I don't understand the Bret obsession, I found him ridiculously boring.

Ice, just... no. He had a cool entrance, that's about it. I don't understand the Bret obsession, I found him ridiculously boring. How you find William Regal entertaining and not Bret, baffles me. I will say this, Bret has never been the most charismatic superstar. He's not funny like The Rock. Not as witty as Jericho. He's not as goofy as Angle. He's not as badass as Austin. But Bret is a very capable wrestler. He does a good job at selling. He does a good job at storytelling. He does a good job at making his opponent look better than he is. And he is as crisp in his game as anyone ever has been. You may not like Bret, and that's fine. I'm not a fan of Jeff Hardy and his [botch] spot-a-ramas, and that's fine. Different people, different taste.

I'm sorry... but I also have to give it to Bret. Don't get me wrong, C.M. Punk is good. I just find it really hard to find many decent wrestlers today that can compare with the ones from the good old days. Back then I would be glued to the TV when wrestling was on... now I'm lucky if I can stomach more than ten minutes of it. As I said though, C.M. Punk is fairly good, but Bret Hart, in my mind, is better.

It's easier to appreciate more well-rounded athletes, for sure ...
... but I consider Bret to be one of the best EVER simply because he WASN'T as well-rounded (charisma, character-development, spots), and got as over as he WAS simply through his technical skills and work ethic.
Boring or not, the man's a legend and perhaps one of the best ever.

I vote for Bret Hart. Although I love CM Punk, Bret was too good.

I admire CM Punk's straight edge lifestyle, being as i am a non-smoker, drinker, drugtaker and generally goodygoody myself. But he's had a bad draw here.
