Love you Davey, but Cena between June and now wins.

If Cena and Davey met in the ring, Davey would run a freaking marathon around Cena.
Davey by a landslide.

I don't think so, ROH is a pretty known thing and Davey Richards is kind of the new face of ROH. I remember years ago everyone knew who Bryan Danielson was but when they saw him they had no clue at first it was him. Then after watching him for like a minute they witnessed what was going on outside of WWE and TNA. That's how most people for from sports entertainment fans to wrestling fans.

It's such a small percentage, believe me. I remember being at a WWE show and just listening to people talk, like "where's Booker T?" Most of the WWE fanbase doesn't even know indies/TNA/ROH/Etc. even exist, let alone know the wrestlers. I'm a huge indy fan, I'm not trying to say Davey Richards isn't awesome, so don't take it that way.

I agree with Lantlas that 99% of the wrestling fans wouldn't know Davey. I also believe that has no impact on who had a better 2010 in wrestling. Davey was better than everyone in 2010, imo. He's my MVP in other award ballots I've submitted elsewhere.
Cena is great at what he does. To me, he just doesn't hold a candle to the work-rate of Davey Richards and how freakin' money Davey has been in-ring. Richards has also built up his bad ass persona and is a truly believable champion in ROH.

I think Cena in the second half of this year has been downright awesome, because he's actually been vulnerable, which is a huge turn from the SuperCena to which we've grown accustomed. I love Davey Richards, I've seen him from the first row in matches against Ricky Reyes, Too Cold Scorpio, and several others... We've been saying for years that he's the next Chris Benoit... But what does being the centerpiece to the biggest federation out there mean in comparison to workrate? Everything from a business standpoint. I also would venture to say that Cena would make Davey look like a million bucks, win or lose.

I don't think that being the centerpiece of the biggest company should be the reason why someone gets put over. So Davey doesn't work the WWE style? He's one of the best to work the indy/strong style in years.
I'd vote for Cena over most of the other people on this thing. Can't do it over Davey just based on where Cena works.

God, if myself three years ago could see me defending John Cena today... lol.
It's funny how your perspective changes.

I wouldn't be mad if this goes either way. Do I think John Cena is more valuable than Davey Richards? Absolutely. Do I think Cena is a better overall wrestler? Absolutely not. But I do think Cena is the MVP of the most profitable and mainstream wrestling promotion and has been this year as well, and always does his best; I don't think he's ever had a 'bad' match, just not all five-star matches.
I like "The Crippler" Davey Richards as much as anyone else, but I still think Cena has done more.
