My Fellow Members of the PCW Faithful,I have high hopes for PCW. Very high hopes. And I hope that if you're reading this, you feel the same. That's why I am asking you to help PCW out.
Financially.
(That's why there is a cool little donate button found at the bottom of the forum now. Neat, right?) I'm planning on running a few ad campaigns in order to bolster our numbers a bit. The two areas I'm planning on targeting immediately is Roughkut.com and Proboards itself. Depending on how well the ad campaign does will determine if I branch out the ad campaigns into other areas (such as ewscene and efedwrestling.com).
What I am asking you all is to help with the costs that comes with running the campaigns. I'm looking to raise about $85 to begin this excursion and am asking you to help us reach that goal.
I will start the initial fund by pledging $10. I will then match any donations up to $3 until we reach our goal.
For example:
If Murdoc donates $1.50, I will put in another $1.50. If Eira donates $3, I'll match her $3. If Stormm donates $.10, I'll match the $.10. This happens until we reach $85. Once we reach $85 I will inform the roster and stop matching. I will allow donations to go upward of $150 before I ask you all to stop donating. All monies after the initial $85 is reached will be used for other PCW expenses, such as ad-free costs, continued ad campaign, and prizes.
I do want to note that all donations for the initial cause are final. After the $85 goal is reached, I will allow returns up to three days.
Remember, the PCW would be nothing without you guys and gals and if you want us to continue to grow and succeed, we need your continued help. However, you are not obligated to help us, so do not fret if you cannot.
Thanks,
Luis

A word of caution... and this is me just playing devil's advocate... don't try to rake in too much money, because it MAY lead to problems since most of us use well known pic bases. I doubt that it will, but with the litigious society we live in, I don't put anything past anyone. For something such as this, it's unlikely to be a problem though.

An Ad campaign of $150 isn't going to get very much exposure what so ever.
You should consider targeting through Facebook. You can buy ads and target people in Efed groups or wresting groups. It's generally pretty cost effective and hyper targeted. You should probably talk to someone like Justin about making some standard banner ads for PCW.
If you do use Facebook we may also want to create an actual PCW page, not just our select group. Keep it all IC and have league updates, the News & Rumors Board, Maybe RP of the week and links to results.
It could be good to have to drum up some interest anyways.

perhaps its my own naivety or not paying attention... but, with the exception of probards, why do you need money to advertise the fed? don't places like roughkut have a place where you can promote your fed for free?
And just fyi, ewscene is now ewzine... change of management a few months ago basically.

well that answered that...
My spare capital is kind of ring fenced this month. When I get paid at the end of the month, I'll see if I can sling a few dollars your way.

This is just begging to be turned into "MWAHAHAHA I bought the company right out from under your nose!" storyline.
In all seriousness, I do Internet marketing, SEO and social media for a living so, if I can be of any help, let me know.

Why not put together a IC Facebook brand page where people can subscribe to? It could get the ball rolling and have content on there so if you do turn to Facebook it's not bare. Just adding my 2 cents, since it's my job.

Might as well resurrect the website while your at it... apparent people care about having one of those as much as social media (do we even still use that anymore?)

Having a website might actually help promotion, but I know from experience that it's a pain in the ass to regularly update a fed website. The same is probably true for Facebook.

I'd like to double the roster, get a few more members 'promoted' to staff, and then build from there. Including through Facebook and getting a solid webmaster. But that all starts with getting a few more eyes on the fed.
$150 isn't a ton of money to begin with, and neither is the $85 initial goal. Before I go further into personal debt, I want to scratch the surface to see where we can go. This can, I feel, only help us.

Already had that thought in consideration, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I'd wondered this as well at times, but there's nothing to say that we wouldn't all immediately comply with "cease and desist" letters from those whose images we use. I know that in any of the banners I personally have made, I've credited base artwork/images where I have the image posted on my deviantart page. I also sent messages (that have never been answered) to the pic bases of both Eira and Dollface (Mira Nox and Kelly Eden, respectively) that their pic bases are being used here. ^_^
