Five people died and two others were injured in an early Wednesday morning crash after a semi-truck, driving on the wrong side of the highway, struck a van carrying seven passengers on U.S. Route 123 in South Carolina.
The driver of the van, Tyrone Little- 60, and front passenger Robert “Crazy Bob” Targaryen- 45, are reported to have died upon impact.
Roberto Garcia- 48, Melina Cruz- 24, and Nolan Burke- 25, were the three other passengers confirmed to have passed away. It is being reported that Mr. Garcia passed while emergency personnel were tending to him at the scene, while Ms. Cruz and Mr. Burke were pronounced dead upon arrival at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Survivors of the accident include the driver of the semi-truck, Ernest Reid- 54 and his passenger, a woman identified as Courtney Michaud- 37; both individuals suffered from minor cuts and bruises but are otherwise fine. The two other individuals who survived the crash, Maryjane Franco-28 and Mark Long- 33, were other passengers in the van, and are said to be in critical condition at Greenville Memorial.
Trooper Rob Rowe Jr., of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said an investigation as to the cause of the accident will be conducted. “We’re still trying to piece together exactly why the truck was on the wrong side of the road in the first place. There’s no clear reason as to why right now.”
Mr. Reid has been a truck driver for over twenty years, but not much else is known about him at this time. All others, sans Ms. Michaud, were members of the Pure Class Wrestling organization- a wrestling promotion based out of Myrtle Beach that promotes events at the Pure Class Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
Kai Walters, a representative of PCW, expressed:
Mr. Reid is being held without bail at this time. We will have more information as it develops.

It's devastating. PCW was, and still is, my home. I consider everyone there family, and now part of it is no longer with us. Its a sad day for the world as they all were incredible people, and I am glad I was lucky enough to have met them and have them be a part of my life as much as I did. My condolences to their families and to their friends, and to everyone else that had a chance to meet any of them. Its...its hard to put into words just how much all of this really sucks to be honest. I just... I can't. No one can. I'm sorry...
