The OOC Awards
Best Newcomer: Chris (Joka)
Chris, better known as Joka, earns the Best Newcomer Icey Award with an overwhelming 79% of the vote. Chris, not to be confused with Kris, has had some start and stops during his In-Character PCW stint, but has been a welcomed addition to the Out-of-Character community. We hope his showing at the Deadly Intentions V Pay-Per-View was enough of a kick to his bawls for him to show you why he deserves the 79% of the vote that he got.
The runner-up was @soloman, who received the remaining 21% in this two-man race.
Past winners include: Tom; Brittany; Stacy
Best Wrestler Gimmick: Derek Cosmos (Derek)
The trend on best gimmicks in PCW continues with yet another first-time winner of The Icey Award for...well, Best Wrestler Gimmick. Derek wins the award by nabbing 72% of the vote. One voter best described Derek Cosmos as, “...a time traveling supermodel secret agent? With a penchant for lewd humor and shenanigans? It’s like someone crossed Dr. Who with a metrosexual fratboy, I love it.” We can only wonder what Cosmos will come up with next.
The runners-up to this award was last edition's winner, Nathan Saniti, and current World Champion Sadistic; They split the remaining 28%.
Past winners include: High Tide; Puro Power; Areas; Q; NCM; Nathan Saniti
Handlers with Best "Ring Chemistry": The Black Hand (Grimm & Mr. Showtime; Sadistic)
With 57% of the vote, Nate and Mike win the award for Best Ring Chemistry for the third time, this time including Josh making them a Triad of Terror. To explain the history between these three men would span far more wrestling promotions and over ten years of wars with and against each other.
The runners-up to this award were Kris and Shannon, and Kris and Dan, splitting evenly the remaining 43%.
Past winners include: Mike & Nate {2x}; Q & N. Saniti
Most Innovative Writer: Dan (Nathan Saniti)
in·no·va·tion; [noun]; \ˌi-nə-ˈvā-shən\:
1. a new idea, device, or method
2. the act or process of introducing new ideas, devices, or methods.
Dan, for the second time in his PCW writing career, wins the Most Innovative Icey Award with a commanding 57% of the vote. Dan's surrealism and literalness of words and phrasing is a remarkable display of his Wordsmithship (is that not a word? It is now). We hope Dan continues to master the art of word with us in PCW for a long time to come.
The runners-up to this award were Derek and Josh, splitting the remaining 43%.
Past winners include: Mike; Shannon; Q; Tyler Scott; Dan
Most Improved Roleplayer: Jesse (Cory Steel)
With a remarkable 78% of the vote, Jesse wins the Icey for Most Improved Roleplayer for the third time. Jesse is a true testament of utilizing feedback, not worrying about wins and losses, and focusing on improving as a writer. As of this writing, Jesse has just captured the PCW Underground Championship at Deadly Intentions 5, which is his first title reign in Pure Class Wrestling.
The runner-up to this award was Simon, who received 21%, while Justin finished off the votes with 1%.
Past winners include: J. Hicken; Rick; AD; Roy; Daniel; Mike; Q; Jesse {2x}; Dan
Most Underrated: Gem (Gem)
Gem wins The Icey Award for Most Underrated writer/character with 50% of the vote. From a completely personal point of view, I want to say that I believe a part of Gem's underratedness (not a word? Is now!) from an In-Character perspective is her lack of development in front of the camera. From an OOC perspective, she provides solid feedback, but doesn't engage enough with the community to really help her standing within.
But from a talent perspective, there is nothing holding this one back. Her stint as undefeated Underground Queen did not go unnoticed, nor did her close loss against Stormm at Deadly Intentions V. I expect big things out of Gem in 2015.
The runner-up was Derek, who received 21% of the vote.
Past winners include: Jimmy; Mike; Kris; AD; Rick Majors; Dan
Most Reliable Handler: Gem (Gem)
Gem picks up her second-consecutive Icey Award during this edition of the awards, picking up the Most Reliable Handler award here. Gem wins the award with 57% of the award. Gem hardly ever, if ever, no-shows and is almost always the first to post. And that post is always a well-written RP. Gem is as reliable as they get.
The runner-up was Nate, with 29%.
Past winners include: Shannon; Rick (NCM) {2x}; Drew; Alex; AD {2x}; Nate
Biggest Post-Whore: Simon (Alexa Black)
I'll admit, when Simon first came into the PCW, I was unsure whether he was a troll or not. Without having any matches, he had post-whored himself into a Top 20 All-Time spot. In the 6 months since, his slowed down his whoring, but he now ranks within the Top 15 Posters All-Time. Simon joined PCW in 2014, but if you average the registering years of the other posters in the Top 15, you'll get 2007. We know your posts aren't all RPs but we love having you be the Post-Whore PCW needs. Apparently, 79% of the voting pool agrees.
The runners-up were Derek, Josh, and Luis, splitting evenly the remaining 21%.
Past winners include: Gerrid; Chrissy; Justin; Luis; Drew; M. Park; Rick (NCM); Tom; Dustin {2x}; Kris; Simon
Best Roleplayer: Josh (Sadistic)
For the first-time in his PCW writing career, Josh is named the Icey Award Winner for Best Roleplayer; Josh wins this award with 50% of the vote. This Icey Award comes off the heels of Sadistic's In-Character win of the 2014 Deadly Rumble event. Josh is one of the most talented handlers I have ever known and I am proud to have gotten my ass stomped by him in one of my first efed feuds ever (yeah, Cosmos, I see your accomplishment in your forum signature. I did it first, bub). I am happy to see Sadistic finally sitting on top of the mountain, and the votes agrees in my thinking that Josh deserves it.
The runners-up to this award were Dan and Dustin, both scoring 21% of the vote. Nate retained the remaining 8% of the vote.
Past winners include: Shannon; Alex; Nate {7x}; AD; Dustin
Most Respected Handler: Josh (Sadistic)
Picking up his third Icey this edition, Josh wins the Most Respected Handler award with 27% of the award. Josh has been a valuable member to the community in a variety of ways: as a mule (and currently, as its head mule), as a feedback provider, and as a voice of reason. In a tight-race, I'm glad to see Josh prevail.
The runner-up was Shannon with 20% of the vote. Derek, Andy, and Kris finished at third, and Showtime and Daniti rounded out the votes.
Past winners include: Barb; Jacob; Roy; Alex {2x}; Rick; Nate {2x}; Drew
PCW MVP: Shannon (Murdoc)
Shannon becomes the All-Time leading PCW MVP Icey Award Winner, earning his fourth-CONSECUTIVE award for this category with 37% of the vote. Shannon has recently stepped down as Director of Wrestling Operations, but his tenure at top has not nor will not be forgotten. We thank you for your accomplishments as a roleplayer and your achievements as the head of creative. You earned this award.
The runners-up were Kris and Luis, both receiving 23% of the vote each. Rick [Majors] and Josh split the remaining 27%.
Past winners include: Luis {3x}; Hank; Rick {2x}; Shannon{3x}
OOC Hall of Fame: Josh (Sadistic) & Mike (Mr. Showtime)
Josh and Mike, the two members of The Black Hand who aren't already members of the Out-of-Character Hall of Fame, join their compatriot Grimm as new inductees to the Hall of Fame. Josh and Mike grabbed a combined total of 77% of the vote. Congratulations to Josh for picking up his fourth Icey Award this cycle, and congrats to Mike for grabbing the one that counts the most.
Congratulations guys on becoming the newest members of the PCW OOC Hall of Fame class!
The runner-up was Dustin with 22% of the vote, with AD grabbing the remaining 1%.
Past winners include: Alex; Jacob; Andrew; Rick; Tom; Shannon; Nate; Luis; Justin
