Greenville, SC; April 8th, 2015:
One of PCW's most inspiring young superstars, billing from Parts Unknown™ at a lithe precision-striking machine of 5'11", 175lbs, Gem is Pure Class Wrestling's spitfire defying the odds, and YOUR PCW Superstar Spotlight!
With the up and coming superstar claiming so much of fans' attention of late with her unique blend of raw talent and unusual youth, our Superstar Spotlight turns in this issue to Gem. Recently making her first appearance at the coveted #1 spot in the 135th edition of the PCW Power Rankings, it's a matter of plain fact that you'll not find much about Gem anywhere else in PCW's various records. Be that as it may, let's delve into the strange world of Pure Class Wrestling's youngest superstar.
While I love to really get inside my Superstars' stories and explore their past, when we look to Gem we find only the shrouding mists of mystery. Little of nothing is known of Gem, whether through the company HR department or even public record (What? It's not stalking when you're a journalist. I'm supposed to be thorough.); even with all my research, I find that I don't know much more than you do. While her personal life is something of pure speculation, we can reflect a little bit on her professional history within the confines of Pure Class Wrestling. Debuting at Trauma 152, Gem made an impressive start by walking away with a victory against "Darkstar" Desmond Schon. On a related I'd like to point out that no one but a person desperately combing through archives for scraps of information would even remember that name - but EVERYONE knows Gem's name. She went on through her next several matches with varying results, ultimately coming to Living a Legacy VI to win the title of Underground Queen - while at the same time winning the distinction of being the first ever superstar to hold the belt. She held the title until Trauma 162 when our beloved A Ghost in the Wind Frank Foley pulled the title from her to make her the number one contender for the North American Championship (then and as of this writing held by Justin "Stormm" Michaels). Despite having defeated Stormm in the match immediately preceding Mr. Foley's announcement, she failed to win her NA title shot. A failure that has ultimately led to amazing things.
Secrets behind watchful eyes...

Strong words after a long silence...
Allies and opponents, smoke and mirrors...
Whether it be on the fan forums or in the ring, the prevailing view of Gem has long been that she quite simply never speaks. Never says a word, one way or the other, be it in celebration or censure. That all changed as she released her first promo recording just prior to Trauma 169. Despite the rare suggestion that Eira herself (seen briefly in the video, as was a young man often seen in Gem's company) manipulated Gem into recording the promo, the dominant interpretation seems to be that the young woman finally, and explosively, opened herself up to the PCW Universe. With all the subtlety and showmanship of a nuclear detonation, Gem's words were raw, harsh, and unfiltered. There are a few detractors (most notable among them Sadistic himself) that seem to feel Gem had weakened herself with some of her statements, but the overall consensus seems to be that her powerful words had nothing but merit. It's not in my job description to parse out bits and pieces of pro wrestling promo to interpret them, it's only my job to give mention where relevant. Her strong words to Sadistic (and trust me, if you haven't seen it, go watch it - strong words indeed) came through loud and clear in all their righteous fury. A fury that may have even damaged something in her strange relationship with Eira, if the older woman's words prior to the same show are to be taken to heart - especially as they so closely echoed what Sadistic himself expressed. Friends or enemies? The lines are even blurrier than usual for this one young superstar.
Allies and opponents, smoke and mirrors...
Gem has kept mostly to herself for the bulk of her time at PCW, her fledgling apprenticeship to Loki's impressive credentials falling unexpectedly flat as her mentor once again took his unannounced leave from Pure Class Wrestling. Following that she had been seen from time to time in the company of an unknown young man of whom observers have only learned the name "Grant". He has been a staunch ally to Gem, often accompanying her to the ring and generally behaving as part manager and part watchful friend. His relation (if any) to Gem beyond this capacity is currently a total unknown to any outside of the duo. Unexpectedly, Eira seems to have allied herself with the young superstar; whether out of truly benevolent intentions or merely in the face of The Black Hand's relentless onslaught is unclear. Their allegiance seemed solid up through their horrifyingly brutal Mass Destruction Cage Match vs Grimm and Mr. Showtime at Mass Destruction V - only time will tell if it will be enough to bolster Gem as she moves past her recent draw match against Sadistic at Trauma 169. Past her recent loss, and towards a triple threat match for the Pure Class Wrestling World Championship title at the upcoming Living a Legacy VII - vs none other than her arch nemesis William "Sadistic" Dillinger and her ambivalent mentor, Eira.
While it remains to be seen where Gem will go from here, we can rest assured that she'll continue to face down any obstacle with the stony resolve we've seen time and time again, and the new fire she's only recently set free. While The Black Hand continues to systematically destroy and reconstruct Pure Class Wrestling to suit their own inscrutable designs, we can be sure that they have found an unexpectedly powerful opponent in Gem. Her meteoric rise within the company nearly unprecedented, her next stop is nothing less than the PCW World Championship! Whether you want to adopt her, marry her, or she scares the ever loving hell out of you, PCW's youngest superstar Gem is YOUR Pure Class Wrestling Superstar Spotlight!
