Another excellent PPV. My quick analysis is that it was plum full of well-written wrestling action, but very light on segments. I thought the old school TUHA tag team promo was badass. Not sure what was going on with Crazy Boy - love me some Crazy Boy - and that Icey Award. Grimm whistling was probably my favorite part of the show. I was a little bummed by the abrupt ending to the main event as I was really getting into that match. All in all, though, I thought each match was done justice in the results. Big props to Kris and Rick for taking on multiple matches. Also thanks Rick Lyfe and Stormm for pitching in as well. Hopefully you two stick around??? The quality really popped in the results. Great show.

Who won the Underground?! Awesome job mules, the longer we wait honestly the better the results!

I was confused by that as well. Who DID win the Underground?!
I guess we'll have to wait until Trauma...

I'll get proper feedback up tomorrow, but in the meantime I'll leave you with this fun bit of trivia...
As much as I wish I could claim total responsibility for a certain event in the Grimm / Loki match (You really used it! Thank you!), it was inspired by this local news story from a few years ago:

Match 1: The writing in this match made me forget that Kris ran out of time. I honestly think this was my favorite match of the night, beautiful back and forth action. I was disappointed when it ended just because that meant it was over.
Match 2: This one was a cluster. It was enjoyable, but still a cluster. Congratulations to Cosmic Nachos on becoming the new number one contenders.
Match 3: Wat? So....are they.....splitting the title? I'm sure all will be explained on Trauma. It was fun to see the guys on the outside get involved and even more fun to see Pegz back in the ring.
Match 4: I don't begrudge someone looking good in a match, but I do take issue with someone kicking out of multiple finishers in a row. Complaints aside, I did enjoy this match for the most part.
Match 5: I'm glad to see that the tag team titles have made a comeback. Everyone put on a good show and the match was a ton of fun to read. It was interesting to see Kelli's internal struggle.
Match 6: Beard eating....really? Aside from that, I did enjoy this match. It was hard hitting and particularly brutal.
Match 7: This was another close one. I was certain that The Black Hand was going to get more involved than they did. But grats to Eira for winning the North American Title. Only one title to go for the Triple Crown.
Match 8: Seeing as how Eira doesn't really like either one of the people in this match I wasn't surprised when she called it right down the middle. I was however surprised that she didn't just pop Lantlas in the mouth and MAKE him get off the ring apron. I've made my thoughts on major title matches ending in a draw known before so I won't rehash that here. All in all, a good match.
Overall, a fantastic PPV. The creative team did a great job of getting this together. You guys should be proud of this, as should everyone who contributed.

Match 4: I don't begrudge someone looking good in a match, but I do take issue with someone kicking out of multiple finishers in a row. Complaints aside, I did enjoy this match for the most part. To be fair, it was only Jeremy Bagwell posing as the other Stormm using those finishers. It would have been a different story if any one of those guy's finishers that he ripped off been the ones delivering the move. I get what you mean, though. I had a lot more back and forth between finishers initially, but cut out a lot, as the match was twice as long as any others on the card when I had finished it originally. So I cut out a lot of filler and tried to streamline it. This was actually my first ever attempt at writing a match since I've been in this hobby (going on 16 years now).

The show had me on edge the whole way through, and I don't often say that about an entire card. The abrupt ending was frustrating, but that's a good thing, because like other parts of the show, it makes us wonder where things are going. It definitely isn't over. If I had any criticism, and it's small, it would be that there were a few too many Wrestlemania-style kickout endings for my taste, but that's because I hate leaving feedback without trying to add something constructive.

Match 1: It's always an honor to face Kris in whichever form she takes and I hope this match was a little consolation to the result. I wish I didn't have to cash that shot in on Dollface so soon into her reign because she deserved a much longer run. Match 2: A fun match and a change of tone to the rest of the show. It was an incredibly serious show and this was a good break with lots of cool action and interesting teams. Congrats to the Cosmic Nachos on their win, great to see both of them back in action and in the title hunt. Match 3: Well.... that's a confuddlement of a result. Overall it was a really good match and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of those three in the next cycle as we figure out what the hell Foley's going to do with that title. Great to see Pegz back in the ring too, even if it is in the old zebra stripes. Match 4: I'm going to be completely honest here.... I really didn't like this match. I'm sorry, but the whole thing struck me as a giant love letter to Stormm from Stormm himself. To me it seemed like a pointless match to end an angle that could have been far better and cleaner tied up at the last PPV. The kick outs to finishers time after time after time after time... I get it, you want to look good, but this makes you look like John 'Superman' Cena on steroids after giving sexual favors to Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. It was complete overkill and only served to stroke an ego, not further an angle. I'm sorry but that's all I see in this match. Match 5: This was a great match and it was great to see such a legendary team back on a big stage and fighting for titles. There were some really interesting angles going into this, with the returns, the tag titles coming back, the rivalry between Dollface and Saniti. The interactions between Psychedelica throughout the match had me doubting if they could co-exist and win, while Loco and Willard were the consummate tag team. Congrats to the new champions and this tag division looks like it could be the best PCW has had in a very long time. Match 6: Overall it was a good match but, to be brutally honest, I felt like it missed something... or I was just expecting something else. It started great, a brutal match that it deserved to be, but toward the end it became too... gimmicky? The beard eating thing? I just didn't get it, it felt too much of a novelty. The whistling, I don't know. Match 7: The NA title match was great, possibly up there with the Tag Titles as MotN. The psychology of Sadistic not knowing whether to call it down the middle to save his own title or play it evil and help his stablemate was brilliant. The action itself was great and very exciting to read. I didn't know which way it was going to end right up until it did. Congrats to the new NA champion (Kris walks out with 2 titles, makes me a feel a tiny bit better about the first match of the night ) and Eira is now incredibly close to a grand slam. Match 8: I thought this was a really good match but, again, I guess I was expecting something more from the finish. I can buy a draw between two great writers, but I don't buy how it went down. Sure, the referee refused to officiate... but why? Because Lantlas struck her? Why wouldn't she call for security, or security arrive anyway, to remove the unwelcome intruder? And why wouldn't Foley send out another referee to take the place of Eira when she left? It's not the first time in wrestling history that a referee has been unable or unwilling to call a match. If a referee is knocked out accidentally they routinely send out another referee to take their place. I feel like officials would have DEFINITELY done this in the case of a World Title match where a clear result would have been very important. To me, the end of this one overshadowed a very good match with a lot of great build up and psychology. I know I'm sounding harsh, but it just didn't make any sense to me.

I went on record, though privately, to say that I wanted to win all three of my title matches - and I meant the hell out of it. Not out of any sort of greed or "I WANT ALL THE SHINIES" (my Dollface persona IS tempered by the Eira side), just because I wanted to prove I could do it. I wanted to prove I could win three matches, three TITLE matches, in one night. I didn't. I still think I CAN, but I also think it would require having a freer schedule than I do right now. Or maybe just a rented studio somewhere that I can write and not have all the distractions of freaking ever. But hell, two outta three ain't bad, right? For the second time I managed to win two titles on the same show with separate characters. A feat I was by absolutely no means whatsoever confident of pulling off at Return to Glory VI, especially when one considers I was up against some of the most formidable competitors PCW has ever seen - newly returned Hall of Famers and current Hall of Fame talents alike. Shoutout to Non Compos Mentis, Mr. Showtime, as well as Loco & The Anarchist - it was great working with and writing against you guys with m'buddy Nathan Saniti. On to the show! Match 1: The first match was written great. Excellent back and forth with Dollface remaining completely credible and NCM looking strong to pick up a well deserved win! Very good job by the match writer - and a congrats to NCM on his first International Championship run! Match 2: This was a fun match to read, I liked the more lighthearted tone amidst the super serious wrestlermans stuff. Congrats to Cosmic Nachos (I am seriously going to make some kind of nachos of awesome and name them Cosmic Nachos and post the picture to PCW) on picking up the win - Psychedelica will be seeing you soon enough! Match 3: Good match but what the hell ending? I left feeling confused, and slightly violated. Moving on. Match 4: I skimmed this, having had no interest in the Stormm :: Stormm storyline at any point. The writing was competent and on point. The story of the match was - well, like Rick said, looked like one big ego wank. Match 5: This was awesome! So cool to see this match, and I really could "see" the match, you know? Good stuff. It was great facing off against the legendary "Tha Unholy Alliance", and I look forward to running around the tag circuit with them as well in the future! Match 6: Man, when Grimm shovels he really uses both hands. And boots. And his Hangtown Hardware Grimm Signature Edition Shovel. Match 7: Great match! I enjoyed this one, and it kept me guessing the entire way through. I was CERTAIN Eira had taken a reasonable loss - but the match kept going! Mr. Showtime was kept looking like a badass, and Eira picked up the win. Great stuff. Match 8: Gem and Sadistic wanted a win? @#$& 'em. They can find someone else to do it. Someone not as yet facepunched by Lantlas. The show was definitely seg-light, which seems to pull some spirit from the results. Let's see if we can get back into the habit of sending segs in!

Yikes, guys. A little bit ruthless with some of the Stormm critique, don't you think? Kicking out of the borrowed finishers was a bit overboard, but it went from heroic to WTF once the identity of the fake Stormm was revealed. Not to discount Jeremy Bagwell, because he IS a bastard, but taking a beating like that from Bagwell doesn't scream superhuman to me. Besides, I'm more bothered by Stormm giving himself a glorious victory without RPing! : :? Did I do that right?

Every match could have been a Trauma main event, and I don’t know if I’ve said it before, but I really appreciate the effort the mules put into their writing. The amount of detail that goes into these things makes it obvious that somebody (or somebodies) really pays attention to our RPs. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that other than the comradery we have on the boards, my favorite thing about this fed is finding those little nuggets scattered throughout the results. Sometimes it’s even something I’ve thrown into a piece in passing that I’ve almost forgotten about, and then I see where it’s not only mentioned in a match or a segment, but it’s expanded upon to give me something to run with in the next RP cycle. This fed is swell. And so was the PPV.
Before I go, though, I’d like to touch upon the Match That Shall Not Be Named, since it seems to have been a polarizing part of the show. I understand the criticisms. I really do. But the thing is, PCW can’t be all things to all people all the time. We’ve all been part of things that others either got tired of or didn’t care for in the first place. It’s the nature of everyone finding entertainment and joy in different things. There have been instances when I’ve felt certain angles and characters have been given a little too much credence based on participation and past track record, but I just accept it and go on about my business. I don’t doubt there are some of you who roll your eyes and mutter, “Gee whiz, we get it. Grimm is (insert complaint here). Let it go, for crying out loud.” Personally, I thought it was an interesting angle and the match was a good way to tie things up so the story can progress.
Besides, it isn’t the first time someone has written their own match in order to close out a storyline, and I don’t expect it will be the last.
