For those who have had a chance to listen to Pulse 20, the subject got broached about switching the show AIR DAY from Tuesday to Thursday. Eira , A Ghost in the Wind , and I had a conversation about an idea I had. Let me make it clear that this ONLY changes the "air day" from Tuesday to Thursday, sort of like a network would do to change the day to bolster ratings. (This would also be how we'd explain the change.) Here's my reasoning: The RP deadline would remain the same; Monday. This gives a full week and two weekends for people to RP. Tuesday would be for grading and match writing. This would also be the deadline for any segs anyone wanted to submit. (We highly recommend and encourage involvement in your character development.) The matches should all be submitted by Tuesdays as well. Wednesdays would be for formulating, formatting, foreplaying (wait, wut?) the shows. That gives plenty of time for last-minute match writing if need be, plus editing time for flow. The show goes up on Thursdays as advertised, which gives us some credibility and stability from the outside looking in. Fridays would be when the cards would go up, and we're off to the races once again. So, what we're wanting to know is if you all are okay with this change. We'd also love to know your feedback if you have issues with this, or don't have any with it. Let me reiterate that NOTHING changes for the handlers, only the "official" air date will be moved.

I haven't even roleplayed yet, but I'm fine with whatever makes everything easy for everyone involved.

Just to make sure I'm understanding things right, the deadline would be the second Monday following the card creation (results up Thursday, card up Friday, then the weekend and the following week to RP)?
That sounds good and puts things back into a 9-10 day rotation.
Biggest concern would be ensuring matches get written in the timeline you outlined. You have it listed like all the matches will be written just on Tuesdays. I'd love for that to be the way it is, I just have a hard time figuring that we'd get the consistency there to do that. That's not saying result writing wouldn't and couldn't spill into Wednesday's with the formatting, but then that takes time away from formatting, which will prompt delays in posting the results and card.
But while it sounds like I'm downing things, I'm really not. Because as long as results and/or shows are posted by Friday, there's zero issues with the timeline. I guess I'm more or less asking that our staff members honour the agreement that's being asked if the day is indeed changed.
I'm not calling anyone out, but don't say you're falling behind if it's because you're playing video games or writing for another fed. If you're here and on our creative, we need ya to honour that. Because this new proposed timeline sounds like it can help a lot.

I personally am a fan of being bi-weekly. Gives more for Role-playing and allows for room to write match's and also allows for less burnout between those writing match's and Role-plays etc. But that's just me lol, I'm new here so my opinion really doesn't matter as of yet.

Yes. The schedule for RP deadlines would be as it is currently. The "change" is purely cosmetic to allow us time to get the show up on it's "air date," so that when people visit our fed, it at least appears that we are consistent about getting the shows up. Yes, Wednesday could be a spillover day. However, I also have a plan for that, which worked well in other feds. (Not my idea, just one I'm offering up as a solution to our match writing lag.) Writers can submit their matches with two or three endings, dependent upon the number of combatants. That way, they may write the matches ahead of time to get them out of the way and all Eira would have to do is edit in the correct ending once the grades are available. But while it sounds like I'm downing things, I'm really not. Because as long as results and/or shows are posted by Friday, there's zero issues with the timeline. I guess I'm more or less asking that our staff members honour the agreement that's being asked if the day is indeed changed. Yes. It will take some adjustment time to get into the groove (Sorry disco) of things, but I think this will also give the match writers a chance to ensure even better matches; i.e. Underground rules matches actually having the Underground feel. (I'm just as guilty) I'm not calling anyone out, but don't say you're falling behind if it's because you're playing video games or writing for another fed. If you're here and on our creative, we need ya to honour that. Because this new proposed timeline sounds like it can help a lot. What about watching anime? *guilty* Seriously, if people are down with this, you'd be surprised how quickly we could get things turned around, show-wise. I'm really hoping my past fed experience can help in this way.
