As Trauma 212 continues a camera backstage catches the Japanese giant Hiroshi Yukio sitting by himself in the backstage area.
He is motionless in his chair his tree trunk arms folded across his chest. His focus is solely on the backstage tv that is in front of him.
As the cameraman moved closer we see that Hiroshi is watching the current Underground Champion Kyle Shane standing in the ring with mic in hand cutting his promo.
Hiroshi listens to every word that is being said.
Kyle Shane: You and I have done this dance for the last few weeks of us going at it at ringside. And we've tried getting in each other's heads. We've come out for distractions in each other's matches. I've even tried to jump you a few times and got wasted when I tried hitting you head on. But what I settled on, was that I wanted a challenge, and big boy, they don't come with a higher bar than you. At least, that's what I thought. But then, the Icemann Tournament happened along, and I progressed all the way to the finals, and I saw a bigger challenge, than JUST you, Hiroshi. I saw a way for me to pull off the biggest bragging right in history. I am contractually scheduled, to defend this Underground Title once per show. And rather than put it up in the triple threat for the Icemann Tournament, I decided that at Living a Legacy IX, on the big damn stage, I was going to defend it against you.
His words ring true. His obsession with winning was everything to him and he would never be able to let it go. Not until he had everything he wanted. He had the Underground Championship and had been very successful in keeping it. His victories weren't over nobodies they certainly caught the attention of the fans the locker room and management.
But when he crossed that line not once but twice that was when Hiroshi decided that something needed to be done. He couldn't be allowed to continue doing whatever he wanted. And if management wouldn't do anything then it fell to him to be the one to make something happen. And now the time had come to end it. Screwing him out of the Icemann Tournament was a declaration of war.
Kyle Shane continues on:
So when it comes to the finals, I'll be getting something you couldn't handle, something I purposely kept you out of the running for. Because I want you to focus all your attention on me. I want you to steamroll right at me, big man, I want you to try and run me down like a juggernaut, because I am going to overcome the biggest obstacle of my life for the first time on June 8th, when I BEAT YOU, and retain this title. And then, that same night, I'll go on to WIN THE 2017 ICEMANN INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT. Three competitors, two matches, two prizes... I am coming away from this night with nothing, or I will walk away with it all, even if it kills me. That is my absolute word. Living a Legacy, June 8th... this is my... Endgame!!
Hiroshi switches off the TV and rises from his chair. His resolve was now strengthened even more. He would be the one to take down Kyle Shane and there was nothing anyone could do to stop him.
He was 6"6 and 500 lbs and Kyle knew that what he couldn't overcome was his power, strength and indomitable will. He will never be broken.
He walks down the corridor as other PCW staff buzz around doing their thing but he's oblivious to it. He strides down the hall and turns sharply to his left. There as always was emthe door to his dressing room. A wall of fans stand behind security cheering and clapping for him. He gives them a smile and a wave. He chats with them briefly
A middle age man in a red PCW Sumo Power t-shirt comes to the front and asks
"Mr Yukio do you think you can win against Kyle Shane at Living A Legacy.
Hiroshi turns and looks at him
"I will do whatever it takes to make sure Kyle Shane is dealt with. I wi hold nothing back and not will he.
But this time I'm not falling for any of his cheap tricks. He will truely feel what it means to face a sumo's wrath."
"Good luck" the man smiles and gives him a thumbs up.
After signing some autographs he retires to his dressing room and picks up a bottle of sake that had been warmed for him along with a big platter of sushi and sashimi that sits on the round oak table next to his big red leatherback chair.
Picking up the sake he crosses the room to a large bookcase that is crammed with books. Perusing the shelves he spots what he is looking for and slides it out of the shelf and makes himself comfortable.
He opens the book and his eyes lower down to the page
Reading the page he smiles having found exactly what he was looking for. He places the book down and looks directly into the camera
"Kyle in my country of Japan we having a saying, and that saying is
Keizoku wa chikara nar
It means Continuance is power and strength.
Or in other words:
Don't give up. Just continuing to hold on will reveal strength and power. Continuing on after a setback is its own kind of strength. Perseverance is power.
And this is what I will show you at Living A Legacy. My perseverance is my strength and my Sumo way. Nothing you do can stop me.
I'll see you there.
The camera fades out as Hiroshi continues to read and relax before the PPV.
