GREENVILLE, South Carolina (AP) -- The lawsuit that local wrestling promotion, Pure Class Wrestling, had filed against one of its talent last year has finally been settled out of court. Justin Michaels, better known as Stormm, had filed a counter-suit against PCW in the process, which was settled around the same time.
According to reports, PCW had filed suit against Michaels for breach of contract after his return to active competition last year, which was short-lived. Stormm countered their suit with one of his own claiming that Pure Class Wrestling had forced him back into active competition too soon following an injury he had sustained months prior, and booked him for a dangerous match having just recovered from a broken clavicle. His suit also claimed PCW withheld royalties due to him from merchandise sales. All complaints were clearly stated clauses in Stormm's contract with the company, and it seems that Pure Class Wrestling hastily filed their suit against the former roster member without thorough examination of said contract.
After nearly a year of mediation and settlement proceedings, Pure Class Wrestling and their lawyers have chosen to drop their original lawsuit, and came to terms with Michaels and his lawyers in their counter-suit. While the exact details of the settlement are not readily available, it's rumored that Justin will be making an official statement through PCW very soon. Pure Class Wrestling was not available for additional comments, and the source of the original suit was not disclosed.
