People don't care about talent anymore. They don't care about ability. The news is filled with 'heartwarming' stories about how relative unknowns somehow managed to succeed in life due to nothing but hard work, determination, and 'heart.' People still believe in the 'American Dream' where anyone can find fame and fortune and love and respect if they just work hard enough and never give up.
It's nonsense. Not only is it nonsense, but it's disrespectful. It's disrespectful to our Lord. The Lord grants us with talent. He grants us with skills. He gives us strength and speed and intellect. He trusts us to use those skills to honour him. Instead, we disrespect the highly-skilled and, in doing so, we disrespect the Lord. We, as a society, hold those who work hard and struggle in high esteem. We praise those who succeed despite having very little talent when we should be standing in awe of those special individuals who have abilities that leave the rest of us in the dust.
It's because, deep down, we like the idea that anyone can succeed. We love the story of Johnny Lunchpail who drags himself to work every day, puts up with shit from his boss for 20 years, and somehow ends up CEO due only to his hard work, determination, and drive. That's because we identify with Mr. Lunchpail. We cheer for his success because, if someone like him can succeed in this world, than so can we.
But Johnny Lunchpail is a lie. It's a story told by corporations to take advantage of simple employees who don't know any better. They want us to work hard and keep plugging away, day in and day out. And that's because it benefits them. And we as a society have bought into this lie. We have embraced the virtues of capitalism and this false worship has taken us even farther from the Lord's word.
I once believed in this myth. I once fashioned myself as a "hard worker" and a "dedicated employee." And where did that get me? I lost my wife. I lost my friends. I lost everyone who cared about me. I lost match after match after match. And then the Lord spoke to me. He told me that I was not a poor scrub who hits a punch clock twice a day to earn a living wage. I was one of the talented ones. I was one of the ones that the world should be standing in awe of. I was talented. I am talented.
I am more talented than Justin Michaels. I am more talented than Kyle Shane. I am the North American Champion. The only person that can beat me is not a person at all: It is the Lord.
And this week I have the honour of teaming up with the great Seromine to face mere mortals Justin and Kyle. But we have already beaten them. We humiliated them at Deadly Intentions. I took back my title from Kyle Shane. Seromine took the World Title from that drunk Whitey Ford. And then we absolutely dominated the Deadly Rumble. Kyle Shane and Justin Michaels lost. They are the Lunchpail Gang who somehow hardworked their way into the same league as the Lord and his Messenger. But this Cinderella story is ending. It is time to face the Lord and be held to account for your sins. Your pride and ego are sinful lies and your deception and disrespect will not be tolerated any longer.
This will not be a heartwarming story with a Hollywood ending. The grizzled veteran returning to the ring and young go-getter teaming up to face off against the all-powerful team of Gabriel and Seromine will not end with sunshine and lollipops and a message to all of the kids out there to never give up. It will end the same way Deadly Intentions ended. And the same way Collision Course will end. My arm will be raised in the air. Seromine's arm will be raised in the air. We will remain champions. Kyle Shane and Justin Michaels will be defeated. Again. Because they are losers. And sinners. They are disgusting.
You cannot "rise up" against the Lord and be successful. You cannot "overthrow" our Creator and our Savior. No matter how much you scratch and claw and struggle and scream, you will not win. And it all comes down to talent. You haven't been blessed with the same talents that the Lord possesses. You have not been Saved.
Instead of looking upon those who are your betters with disdain or rage, look at us with the reverence, respect, and admiration that we deserve. We are your superiors. Bow down.
We must all appear before the judgment of the Lord, and we will all receive what is due to us. Justin and Kyle, your time for judgment has come. And we will give you no mercy. Your day of reckoning has arrived. You will be called to account for your sins. Be prepared.
Praise Seromine. Praise the Lord.
