Yakushima, Ōsumi Islands, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. 4:00 PM local time
A pissed off Hiroshi sits in the middle of the expansive and lush forest that surrounds him. He knows here he will not be distracted or disturbed during his post match meditation.
Yakushima's unique remnant of warm/temperate ancient forest has been a natural World Heritage Site since 1993. Though the island is visited by 300,000 tourists every year Hiroshi knows the places the tourists can’t or won’t go and this assures him peace.
There are animals here such as The indigenous red-bottomed macaques and sika deer.
Just as this thought pops into his head a large macaque curiously wonders over to the big man sniffing at him as if to say hello. Hiroshi looks at it and frowns before growling “Shoo! Get out of here!”
The monkey quickly scarpers off into the dense forest and disappears from sight. Having lost his train of thought Hiroshi quickly takes a deep breath and returns to his exercise. His mind flashes back to the match he had with High Tide which resulted in yet another loss.
The replay in his mind only fuels his anger and frustration even more.
Yukio pushes back up. He turns around and starts to slowly climb the buckles, taking his time to carefully balance on the middle rope. High Tide is collected over his right shoulder…
Hiroshi stands upright with High Tide slumped like a sack of potatoes.
Yokohama Driver -FROM THE MIDDLE ROPE – IS COUNTED MID-AIR!!
High Tide SOMEHOW has enough brainpower to shift himself to get a semblance of his LAY WITH THE FISH finisher!! Midway between the leap and land, the adjustment allowed for a partial tilt-a-whirl into a narrow window of a DDT landing. High Tide goes rolling on the collision. Yukio sits upright for no less than ten seconds as his world falls apart. He collapses onto his back. High Tide claws his way over like treasure has just been found. He gets the PIN!
1!
2!
3!!
High Tide has done it! Fans are still in disbelief at the reversal of fortune, but otherwise are applauding the effort.
Sasha Greene: Here is the winner of the match, High Tide!!
A loss he reasoned which was not won by skill or endurance but by sheer bloody luck. There was no way that stupid pirate could have beaten him without getting lucky and he knew it.
Without even realising it his fists have balled up and are turning bright red matching his face which has now become the same colour. He stands up and faces a large tree that towers over him.
RAAAAAARGH. The roar or rage comes from deep within him and escapes echoing out into the night through the forest and out into the beyond. His breathing ragged and his brow furrowed he sits back down again and tries to find his balance but with every loss it has become increasingly difficult.
His faith in Alexa and her plan was starting to leave him wondering wether he should continue on this path or wether he should strike out on his own. He had long been on the wrong end of things and nothing was changing.
And now having found out that his opponent for this week was a man who was a so called “Monster” who stood over 7 feet tall and well over 300 lbs and was capable of hitting just as hard as Hiroshi could was both daunting and exciting. Here was his chance to truly prove that he was the dominant big man and that he would take him and break his spirit.
“I AM HIROSHI YUKIO! I AM THE KING OF SUMO AND THE BEST BIG MAN IN WRESTLING TODAY!”
His voice boomed as he projected his confidence through the trees.
“I WILL SLAY THE MONSTER AND LAY HIM AT PCW’S FEET. SO IT SHALL BE!
