Rick Majors must die.
He should have died years ago. He was weak. He was sad. He was pathetic and broken down. Death would have been act of charity. Putting him out of his misery would have be doing him a favour. But he didn’t die. He limped along. His heart kept pumping. Air still moved through his lungs. He staggered through life, struggling at every turn.
No one cared about him. No one loved him. No one even paid attention to him. He remained alive, but in name only. He did not live, he merely existed… barely. He moved across the earth like a ghost. No one really saw him, no one really noticed him, no one really believed in him… but sometimes they felt his presence.
Yet, despite how weak and sad he had become, no one had the guts to put him out of his misery either. And so he kept going, with no purpose and no goals, and everyone just let him suffer. Perhaps they liked to watch him fail. Maybe they took joy in his misery. As he struggled along, they probably all laughed and mocked his ineptitude. And even if they did not, for whatever reason, everyone let him continue his pointless journey. Too dumb and stubborn to realize that his time was over, he continued to trudge along. He got weaker and weaker, but no one stepped forward and put him down for his own good. No one stopped the sad scene. No one ended his pathetic life. No one until Seromine.
Seromine was the only one bold enough to act. He was the only one kind enough to take him out back and shoot him between the eyes before he did himself – and everyone else – any greater harm. He killed Rick Majors and, from his rotting carcass, Gabriel was born.
And it was good.
Or so everyone though. However, now it has become evident that Rick Majors did not die. He was horribly wounded, but somehow he continued to exist. His death would prove to be much more difficult to achieve than anyone could have possibly imagined. Even the great and powerful Lord Himself overestimated Rick Majors’ pathetic insistence to live. Even He, in all of his infinite wisdom, failed to see that while Majors was very hurt, his heart continued to faintly beat. Despite all of the beatings, all of the humiliation, all of the pain and suffering and injury, Rick Majors still clung to life.
And it hurt.
Rick Majors continued to live on deep down inside of Gabriel. Rick was weak. He was suffering. He was tired. And so, for a long time, he stayed silent. His sadness and weakness did not infiltrate Gabriel. Gabriel was much stronger than him and Rick Majors could not hurt him in his weakened state. And so, Gabriel was free to succeed. And succeed he did.
He won the Underground Title. He won the North American title. He finished second in the Deadly Rumble to only the Lord Himself. Gabriel found the success that had alluded Rick Majors for almost a decade. But Rick Majors is a stubborn asshole. Rick Majors can’t stay quiet for long. He had to get up and make his big, stupid presence felt. He had to go back to doing what he does best: Failing and ruining everything.
Fuck Rick Majors.
Gabriel had only realized it recently, but Rick Majors had in fact been awake for months. And he was the reason for Gabriel’s sudden decline. It wasn’t Gabriel who had failed. It wasn’t Gabriel who had lost his championship and who had failed at opportunity after opportunity. And it certainly wasn’t the Lord’s message that had failed. That’s preposterous. It was Rick Majors. Of course it was Rick Majors. Again.
Rick Majors’ legacy of failure started to weaken Gabriel. It caused him to lose focus. It caused him to struggle. It even clouded his mind.
Gabriel had almost started to lose faith in the power of the Lord. He began to feel as though, maybe, he had never been saved at all. As the losing and failing added up, Gabriel started doubting everything he thought he knew and, shamefully, this included his belief in the Lord. But the Lord had been right all along. Rick Majors was a loser and a failure. He was a sinner who needed to die. Gabriel could only prosper if Rick Majors ceased to exist. He could only faithfully follow the Lord if every trace of Rick Majors’ existence was wiped from the earth.
Rick Majors must die.
He has caused enough harm. He has done enough damage. This needs to end. He cannot be permitted to exist and to poison everything he touches any longer. He is now a cancer that lives inside Gabriel’s body, eating away at him, weakening him, destroying him. He needs to be eliminated and he needs to be eliminated as quickly as possible.
Recently, Gabriel had been trying to kill him. That’s exactly what happened in his falls count anywhere match with Gerard Angelo. After the absolute humiliation of losing to whoever Mr. PURE! thinks he is, Gabriel knew that drastic measures were necessary. The longer Rick Majors was allowed to continue to exist, the stronger he would become and the greater influence he would have over Gabriel. Gabriel cannot keep losing. He cannot further alienate the Lord. So, Gabriel battled through the windshield of a car, he traded blows in a loading dock, he leapt off the second deck of the Pure Class Arena. He put his body through immense torture and immeasurable pain. He suffered. He bled. He did all of this to win his match, yes, but he also had an ulterior motive.
Rick Majors is still living inside him, but he is weak. Gabriel remains much stronger than the parasite that is slowly draining his resources. Every time Gabriel experiences harm, he causes even greater harm to Rick Majors. Every chair that strikes across his back strikes Rick Majors twice. Every table Gabriel goes through causes Rick Majors even greater pain. And every time Gabriel puts his body on the line in hopes of gaining a victory, he is pushing Rick Majors one step closer to death. It is the perfect plan because it accomplishes two goals at the same time. Gabriel becomes a person who will stop at nothing to win a match, and Rick Majors eventually stops getting up and rolls over forever. The end result is freedom. And victory.
Achieving those goals will be even more important than usual at Return to Glory. This is a fitting name because it will be the scene of Gabriel’s return to glory. Once again, he will stand side-by-side with the Lord. Their relationship has been fractured in recent months. Rick Majors has wrongly caused Gabriel to doubt the Lord’s power, and Seromine rightfully doubts Gabriel’s skill. But a victory against Team Ego will solve all of those problems.
Gerard Angelo and Justin Michaels are the antithesis of the Lord. They live their lives worshiping themselves and coveting material goods. They care so much about their looks and their image and their individual star power. And that will be their downfall. Because this match will not be about individuality. No, it will show the world the true strength of a team. Gabriel and Seromine are a team. A true team. Gabriel would do anything for his Lord. He would make any sacrifice for Him. He will follow Him anywhere and do anything He says. And that is why they work so well together. Seromine is the master and Gabriel is the servant, but their goals are 100% aligned. They both want to see the end of sin and the destruction of heathens and nonbelievers.
And there are no bigger heathens than “Stormm” and the “Hollywood Hero.” Both of these men are mere mortals, but if you asked them they would both likely compare themselves to Gods. What sort of disgusting human being has the audacity to believe they are a God? Sinners! SINNERS! Sinners must suffer. Sinners must pay. Sinners must be humiliated and made an example of! The world must see what happens to those who cross THE LORD.
Gabriel has faced both of these men before with mixed success, but this time he has the immense power of the Lord on his side. And thus, he cannot fail. The Lord will not allow it to happen. And Gabriel will not allow it to happen. Because, if Gabriel lets the Lord down once again, he fears for what will happen to him. Rick Majors or not, the Lord will not take kindly to another failure, especially not one as personal and public as losing a tag team match with the Lord Himself.
And so Gabriel will win. He will leave absolutely everything he has in that ring. He will give every single ounce of himself. Because he has to. There is no other option. There is nothing if he does not win. Nothing.
