*Radio static. Hisses and pops as if someone was scrolling through the dial, on a radio in the middle of nowhere. From out of the crackling static, as voice fades in as if from a dream, and sounds as if it is a live recording in front of a small audience. The screen remains black.*
Voice: - epherd and I shall not wander! I shall follow his lead! The path, his path, is a righteous one! I will not stray and will prove my devotion through sacrifice! Blood! Bone! Flesh! Tears and fear shall bring salvation with haste! Only through Him shall you find it!
*Peppered throughout the sermon is the sporadic “Amen!” “Hallelujah!” And “Yes, lawd!” However, when he delivers the final word in this stanza of his sermon, the crowd erupts into cheers. More amen’s, hallelujah’s, and inaudible cheers and whistles. A piano breaks out in a raucous version of “This Little Light of Mine” and someone begins rattling a tambourine. Just as they assembly begines to sing a squeal of static drowns out the broadcast.*
