Rick Majors went to the Toronto Raptors' victory parade. He watched the team that “started from the bottom” celebrate their victory. And he felt something. He didn’t just feel pride in his hometown, he didn’t just enjoy the communal experience of sharing a happy moment with strangers, no, he felt something else.
The Golden State Warriors came from California, having been champions many times before. Everyone assumed they would be victorious over the guys from Toronto. That’s just what happens, right? The poor underdogs from Toronto have no chance. They’re going to get steamrolled over. They’re going to be embarrassed. Their hard work and positive attitudes won’t mean a thing when they’re facing an opponent with the power and history of the Golden State Warriors.
And the Raptors won. The Warriors lost. It was just like a certain someone who also came from California with a championship resume: Tag champion, International champion, World champion, Deadly Rumble winner, Hall of Famer, cult leader, apple picker. Jason Willard was another competitor from the Golden State that was literally dripping with gold from past glories.
And it didn’t matter. Toronto won.
At Living a Legacy, Toronto won again. Rick Majors defeated Seromine. It should have all been over, but then the injustice came. Much like Masai Ujiri was stopped and harassed by California police following the Raptors win, Seromine couldn’t just disappear into the night following his loss. No, he had to attack Kelly. For that he would pay and he would pay dearly. Rick Majors was sorry for the reported news about Willard's mother. He doesn't wish something like that on anyone. But he wishes a whole other kind of pain on Seromine. A kind that only he can deliver.
But not yet. Rick Majors isn’t going to rush into this. He’s not going to risk going in unprepared and making a mistake. No, he’s going to think this one through. He’s going to wait for the perfect moment. And then he’s going to destroy everything Seromine holds dear. Jason Willard’s destruction is Rick Majors’ destiny.
However, that would have to wait. Because standing directly in front of him (and, honestly, in front of nearly everybody) is Sicko. Is Sicko his first name or his last name? Is it Melvin Sicko? Sicko Stephens? Or did someone call him Sicko in high school because he ate the animal they were supposed to dissect and it just kind of stuck? It doesn't really matter. The truth is, you can’t speak of an unstoppable juggernaut with a stranglehold on championship gold without talking about Mr. Meany Clown.
Rick Majors has faced Sicko before and…. it didn’t go well. And it likely won’t go well this time either. Sicko just pinned three big men with his finger, so he’s got a bit of momentum behind him. And, despite his own victory at that same event, Rick Majors doesn’t have Kawhi Leonard to help him defeat this giant.
But he’ll try anyway. And, if it kills him, maybe Drake will write a rap about his bravery.
