Holden Ross and South Texas Deathride like this

DJ Bio: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for tuning in to Sirius XM radio or live on YouTube. My name is DJ Bio and this…is The Lookout.
A brief intro featuring the guitar hook of “Voodoo Child” plays, featuring various guests for The Lookout. It ends on the final hook with the logo.
DJ Bio: Thank you for joining us today for the week of November 11th, 2019. Today…our guest is a professional wrestler who has been taking the wrestling word by storm. He’s only a year and a half into his career and he’s already reviled by many. He’s a Son of Tampa, part of the Hunter Legacy…the PCW North American Champion…David Hunter.
David Hunter: That is me.
DJ Bio: Now before we get started, I have to run down the sheet. This episode is brought to you by Audible. Are you a busy bee and enjoy reading but don’t have the time to sit down and read the text? Audible has you covered with audio books ranging from fiction to biographical, read by fantastic voices including some very familiar to you. David, I know you use Audible.
David: Yes sir. I use it whenever I’m in the car or on a flight.
DJ Bio: For those unfamiliar I am a contributor to Audible myself. I have read the complete biography of Louis Armstrong, the Catcher in the Rye, and the exclusive reader of all of James Patterson’s books. You interested in signing up? Go to Audible.com and type in “lookout” and get a free week trial. Listen to enjoy. Listen to learn. Listen for yourself. (clears throat) Just a reminder that The Lookout is a private podcast that airs live every Monday from the Tampa Style Studios in Tampa, Florida. We air live on Sirius XM through audio and have a video format on the YouTube channel DJ Bio. For those watching live, don’t forget to subscribe and like this video, and if you like what you hear, hey…feel free to hit that bell notification as well.
David: God I could never imagine doing a podcast.
DJ Bio: There’s a lot of shit to get through but I think we’re finally ready. So…David Hunter.
David: Present.
DJ Bio: Let’s just skip the bullshit and let me say that I am a huge fan. I’ve followed your family since your granddaddy Luke set-up the Tampa Bay Wrestling Academy in ’93. You’re a damn legacy, a prodigy. This town owes your family favors.
David: I’ll make sure to cash those in.
DJ Bio: The legacy is written in history. Your grandad made himself famous in the southeast area. Your uncle, Frank, never made it past but was always—no offense—considered the better wrestler over your dad.
David: Well you’re not wrong.
DJ Bio: Meanwhile, your dad, Jack Hunter, became famous in the international federation, the XWF, among other companies like PWG or WGWF. Now we got you. You’ve become well-known in PCW, but actually started out in the Georgia scene for a few months. What’s up with that? Why leave Tampa when you had it made here?
David: Well, first of all, I actually was in college for a little bit at UT—go Spartans—before deciding to try my hand at what my family was known for. Some people may not know this but I’m actually adopted. My sister and I were actually born in Orlando. However, we’ve lived here for the vast majority of our life that we’re essentially part of the Tampa culture and the family I have is my family.
(clears throat, sip of water)
That being said, I decided to try my hand elsewhere. I didn’t want the burden of my name to wear me down. I knew it was always going to be there but Tampa would’ve treated me like royalty and I didn’t want that. I got humbled so badly in Georgia it was ridiculous. I got beaten to shit in an Atlanta match that made me realize what the wresting business is. Other than that, I did Deathmatches for a straight month before trying my hand at actually building up what I had. Four months later I got the call that PCW was interested.
DJ Bio: You were signed fairly early-on. Do you think that as affected you at all?
David: You kidding me? Of course it has. I might come across as an arrogant shit on TV, but that’s because I am in real life. Not because of wrestling but just in general. One of the things my dad never instilled in me is when to pick your fights…probably cause he was bad at it too. Far as I can tell there is no area that should be untouched. Nobody is exempt, and if that mindset makes me come across as arrogant than so be it. I’ve been around too long and gone through too much to think otherwise.
(a sip of water)
DJ Bio: And now you’re the North American Champion.
David: You’re damn right I am. I’ve been there a year and won numerous awards, have held gold four different times, and have nearly won the Deadly Rumble both years. Bottom 4 and then bottom 3. All things considered I think I’m on the fast track for success.
DJ Bio: Yeah but now you’re running with this crew calling yourselves Pandæmonium. What’s all this about?
David: The thing about this business is that you have to make friends in order to succeed. Holden and Gerard are my friends. I’ve put it on record and said that this was about business and it still is, but the three of us have become closer off the cameras. We travel together, we workout together, we do almost everything to do with this industry together. We’re in this for ourselves, but we’re in this to benefit the other. There’s no secret that we’ve made a habit of triple-teaming guys and using the numbers game. We’ve gotten a lot of shit for it but honestly, who the hell wouldn’t? Whatever makes you succeed is what makes a difference. It doesn’t matter if we use weapons or cheat or use the other to win a match. What matters is that I’m the North American Champion, Holden is the King of the Underground, and Gerard is on his way to Collision Course to become the World Champion. That’s it. Period.
DJ Bio: You’re not really well liked, you know that right?
David: Yeah well people hate honesty. I came from a family of silver spoons, but I didn’t want any of that. I left and made my own name for it. All the money I’ve earned I have earned on my own, without help from my dad or any other member of my family. I’ve got my own friends and they’ve helped me out when I need them.
(he takes a sip of water)
DJ Bio: An attitude like that must be pretty lonely. Any special lady or guy in your life?
David: I’ve been busy, if that’s what you’re asking.
(the two share a laugh)
David: But in terms of any person to hold down with, nah. I’ve openly admitted I find Razor Blade—another wrestler on PCW—attractive. I’ll be honest and say that there’s a few guys I wouldn’t mind being with, but there’s already a couple people who hold my heart. I’ve got a girl who hit me by surprise, another that I’m keeping my options open for, and one that I’ve been trying to get with for a while. It’s all complicated though. The problem is I’m always busy.
DJ Bio: You’re a big wrestler now, you’ve got a busy schedule to keep.
(Bio chuckles, David fake laughs)
David: Yeah…yeah…
DJ Bio: Well you’re home now. Back in town for about a week or so for the big show your sister and mom are promoting. The TBWA Reunion Show. They’ve booked you in the main event in a Battle of the Sons. You…against the son of the Black Seagull…the Black Seagull, and the son of Marcus Lorietta, Tony. The three of you facing off is sure to pack Amalie.
David: They finally booked Amalie?
DJ Bio: An event this big how could they not?
David: Yeah, here’s hoping.
DJ Bio: So what’s it like being back in town?
David: It’s weird. A lot of things have changed but there’s still a lot that hasn’t. It’s weird being back.
DJ Bio: We’ll get back to that in a bit but I have been told you’re going to have a big match coming up on the next PCW show.
David: Yep, Holden, Gerard, and I are taking on South Texas Deathride and Rick Majors.
DJ Bio: Any thoughts on that?
David: I’ve beaten Rick Majors before and I can do it again. For a guy who is presented as an authority figure and an iconic figure in the company he’s pretty fuckin awful. Holden’s beaten up before, Gerard’s beaten him before, I’ve beaten him before, what the hell else is there to say? He’s a piss poor talent that isn’t good enough to lace up our boots.
(a sip of water)
As for STD…they’re not a bad tag team per se, but all-in-all they’re not as good as Holden and I. They didn’t win their match last month and were decimated by Holden and I. Sure, throwing them against the Black Hand was a bold choice for a first match but if you wanted a win, there was the opportunity. They fucked it up and now they’re facing the Best Tag Team in PCW as part of the best damn faction the company has ever seen. Do they expect to win? Probably. Will they be disappointed? Guaran-fucking-teed. We’ve been ridiculed for too long about what we choose to do and how we choose to do it. We’re sick and tired of it and we’re going to show—through Rick and South Texas—that Pandæmonium will be amok and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do to stop it.
DJ Bio: Strong words. Strong words from David Hunter. Hey man we’ve been talking a while about PCW, let’s talk about Tampa.
David: Whattaya got? It’s been too long.
DJ Bio: Tropicana Field’s been a big topic again.
David: No shocker…

With the podcast done and complete, David exits the warehouse. He makes his way over to the car he has parked outside of the studio.
Before he opens the car door, a crow flies down and lands on his car roof. The two match eyes.
Some wind starts picking up, blowing dust around and David’s hair all about the side of his head. He looks across the road and sees a kite fluttering against a nearby trash can. He narrows his eyes before the kite is flown away into the sky courtesy of the increasing wind.
Suddenly, a cold presence makes itself known on David’s left shoulder. With a shudder, he looks over it and sees Heather floating there, a determined look on her face and her hand on it.
With a nod at all three of them, he opens the car.
“Alright sis…time to leave this shithole of a town for good. Let’s see how you and Lydia are doing…”
