Stole the title from a line in a Black Sabbath song and went with it, pretty pleased with how it turned out (I wrote it in the time it took for the song to play ) Lost In The Darkness Poem 124 words Jan 17th Lost in the darkness Everything's swirling inside Attacks never ending, world is upending Now my body is not mine Lost in the darkness A foggy haze of confusion I need an infusion As a clock chimes its bells Searching for something An old spark in another time Watching out the window, it's raining inside though Does anything make sense? Swimming through sadness And I don't have a raft Man overboard, plug in the cord Now I'm floating away Fighting for freedom From the laze in my head Pushing on through, look what I grew It's a seed of doubt Lost in the darkness And now I think that it's time To find the light, remove this blight, making things right Time to get ahead

Send the sun To a separate place Send the sun To beat upon my face Send the sun To a different galaxy You might find There's some abnormalities Send the sun To a Sunday brunch See if it can experience Texture. Crunch. Send the sun When you're done Out comes the moon For it's fun

Another silly one today, not enough energy to pursue the ol' brain much further haha. Red Poem 80 words Jan 19th Red like roses in the night Blooming for your delight Red like blood, it does run When the rose thorns prick your thumb Red like jellybeans Sugary sweet Red like apples Not quite a treat All is red and red is all Orange, yellow, red, it's fall Red like the book you read last night Red like your face with all your might Red like red And other colours too But this one's not about them Red, it's for you.

Some fun stuff here, 20 days of continuous writing even if some of it's silly. This is some progress :3 This And That Poem 90 words Jan 20th
Side to side Round and round Who knows what Will be found It could be this It could be that An antique treasure A baseball hat Wind at your back Wind at your feet Floating weightless Down the street Falling behind Getting in front Pulling off A crazy stunt Eye for an eye An arm and a leg A little bullseye For you to peg A dusty wind A wet snow Stings your face When it blows A new beginning This is the end Thanks for reading Appreciated my friend

This one I wrote just to write. Not too bad considered, but I'm exhausted so just had to get something out. Eyes Of Evening Poem 55 words Jan 21st
Eyes of evening Filled with light Stars that twinkle In the night Looking past you To an ageless event Just a mere moment But many spent Eyes of evening Tired and dim She can't help But stare at him He walks on by He'll never know He's got places to be And places to go

I literally stole this title from a song (great song by the way.) But hey, it's the return of some microfiction :3. Kiss You When It's Dangerous Microfiction 300 words Jan 22nd He crashed through the thick foliage, his pants catching on many a thorn and ripping as he ran. He didn't care, pants could be replaced, his life couldn't. At least no indefinitely. He dragged his companion by the hand as he did, and though she was no stranger to fast travel, she was having a hard time keeping up. He couldn't slow the pace though, their pursuers were hot on their trail and they were not going to give them a second chance to get away. He ducked one branch but came up too quickly and didn't notice the second as it hit him hard in the face. He stumbled, his companion stumbling with him but they both managed to keep their footing. He swore it couldn't be too much longer until he could find a spot to hide; he had one in mind. Yes, there was the familiar rock he was looking for. They weren't far now. He sent out a mental, magical plea to the roots to pull back for him for just a moment as he neared them, and as they stepped out over a large cluster of sideways growing trees, the two companions suddenly dropped. It wasn't a short drop by any stretch, maybe eight feet, and they landed roughly, cushioning his companion's landing with his own body. Not a moment too soon the roots had pulled back tight together, as he heard their pursuers run past overhead. He smiled up at his companion who was panting. “You know I love to kiss you when it's dangerous,” he said kissing her before she had a chance to speak. She smiled at him as they broke the embrace. “With you, everything's dangerous,” she giggled. The worst part of that, was that it was completely true. He was.

Just another poem to keep the momentum. Wrote quick, but makes me chuckle. End Zone Poem 76 words Jan 23rd Going long in life Ready to catch a break Waiting in the end zone For the rain to break Sliding through the grass Evading life's tackles Put the fancy shoes on Remove your shackles Going, going, going, gone Slipped out your fingers Its up in the air, fumbling around You end up in a pile up on the ground Its a scuffle, kerfuffle The ball comes loose You're in the end zone Pick it up, touchdown

Was listening to Hayley Williams new single (damn it's good) and just started writing. Bit rough in parts, but I definitely coulda kept writing this one longer, just tired Closed Poem 75 words Jan 24th Feeling cold Like flames licking Snow fall A natural disaster Hail whips Across my face And I feel Like everything is closed Anger is it In my plans No I don't think so Not today Fifteen minutes Calm again and Breathing a little Slower now But it's still cold The snow still falls Like a mocking cold Reminder of existence The sky is open It's made itself known But it still feels like Everything's closed

Just a quick one for tonight Slingshot Poem 66 words Jan 26th Slingshot its a wild ride Fall fast and hold tight Ups and downs and Blindsides Frost covered window In the dwindling light Fire in the distance Rearing for a fight Slingshot its a tough time Follow through on the slippery Slide and continue on back and Forth on a second wind Eyes twinkling like Fireflies and stopping in The moment like a clock That's right. Sometimes.

Just another quick poem, but I really like the tone and imagery and general wordplay for something written so quick (but then again sometimes when I just let the words flow it turns out alright). Shatter Poem 80 words Jan 27th Shatter like a glass pane Cracking like cobwebs A chip in the middle Branching out like veins Blood rushing, words escape Shattered like an earthquake Fall into myself again Hoping that the world wont end Fires blaze across the lines That shattered in another time Burning the wounds of old Rekindling my tightest hold Send away the army at the door Tell them they aren't welcome anymore I've shattered once, I'll shatter again Hope that I can call you friend

Well holy fuck. Honestly just planned to write something crap since I already did a roleplay tonight but I was listening to that new Simmer single (Hayley Williams, solo album coming out, single is FIRE in my opinion.) and bam, this just kept coming on. Honestly if I wasn't so tired I wouldn't have rushed the ending but fuck, it's nice to write a longer poem for once. <3 Dancing Blades Poem 228 words Jan 28th
Dancing blades by firelight Sparks fly everywhere in the night Man to man, back to back Demons pour out from the crack Former foe, friend for now No need for why when you have how No need for trust, inherent intent Bend and bent until you are spent Still blades dance, here and there War is war, love ain't fair You'd feel cold tonight But adrenaline warms the fight They attack in groups, neverending Your back might break for all it's bending Push and push, forward now Don't stop and wonder how They won't give up, you won't be stopped Feats like these won't soon be topped If you live, the bards will sing Praise and glory, save the king Save the king, fuck the people Mighty church, impaled on steeple Donations please, it's all for good Unleash the demons if you would? Fury now, it all comes back You regroup for a final attack Into the heart of the demon mass you go Time seems to go real slow These fuckers are dead, one way or the other Say a prayer to the Holy Mother Dancing blades, a real work of art Once they stop, they'll never start The Demon King he must be slain Fight through it, fight through the pain Stab his heart and watch them retreat You lived to tell of this glorious feat.

Just a quick little something for the day Free Poem 82 words Jan 29th I am me, as me to me Free as ye, still I cry Out for thee, it is me Longing for once to be free Free is as free does From here to there All that is And all that was To each their own Free means different From wood to stone Free is your home Free like coins lost in time Free like the wind on a climb Search it not, find you it will Free is free, still is still.

Woops forgot to post this last night! Wine Poem 105 words Jan 30th Trickling wine like a river deep Memories for you to keep Drink your fill, it's only fair Slowly melt away all your cares Whine no longer, wine is here Drink away, all your fears The time has come, for you to say “Another glass, another day.” Your mind is fuzzy, like a bear Sitting on your throne of chairs One wine, two wine, three wine, four Please sir, will you pour me more? Soon comes the day where wine runs free What else do you have to say to me? The wine is white, the wine is red, The wine is bubbly, in my head.

Forgot to post again, kiddos were off to Nana's for the night so I was gaming and forgot to post, whoops! Love this one though especially the last stanza. That's a whole month or writing only 11 to go! Whispers Poem 80 words Jan 31st
Whispers in the night Fire burning in your mind Your goal is in sight But what will you find? Working through the same things Doubts swirling round your head Loud as the songbird sings Trying to find something good instead Feeling sorrow, feeling pain Feeling happy, not again Empty thoughts, empty day Searching for my own way Whispers, whispers, on the air Tell me do you truly care? The soft caress of your wordless wonders Everything you touch, you sunder.

Sometimes Poem 111 words Feb 2nd
Sometimes I wonder about what's next And sometimes I just lay there Hoping things will work themselves Out. In space, I'm floating And sometimes I just can't help but think About nothing in particular, just thoughts Weightless on my mind, no rhyme or reason No blueprints or designs, not this time What about the days when we ran free Everything was simpler then and I Sometimes feel like I was another person Wondering who I really am, tonight It's a question I keep asking, but there's No answer. No one picks up the phone but I'm too afraid to leave a message I don't like the sound of my own voice.

Slide Poem 58 words Feb 3rd
Sliding scale in a suffering situation Slowly spinning southward Feeling the weight of burdens Much to large for her shoulders Slide left, slide right, Slide up, slide down, The weight doesnt lift No matter how you shift Earth held on the shoulders of Ancient beings long forgotten Isn't it amusing to imagine The conversation between the world holders?

Caught Poem 86 Words Feb 4th
Caught in a web waiting For the spider to climb down To feast upon my body as though It's never eaten before Caught in the rainstorm waiting Underneath the tree where the Lightning will strike and It'll fall on me Caught in the middle of Up and down, of left and right I can't quite figure out What is day, what is night Caught in the moment, smiling The sun shine on my face feels like A warm caress from outer space And so it is

Really like this one, was feeling particularly inspired. Also on top of the roleplays I'm writing songs for a yearly thing I do every February but as I said I dont wanna cheat and use one thing for two "challenges" (well I did take one of my poems to use as a verse in a song but it had some major fleshing out and the point of these little segments are to inspire and build upon) so here's this! Star Showers Poem 127 words Feb 5th
Star showers streaking through the sky The remains of sunlit clouds pink and fluffy Look up and smile at the beautiful sight Outer space beauty on show tonight Little fireballs hurtling at the speed of light You imagine they smile as they pass the earth by Singing “not this time, not this time” Ominous but strangely beautiful, even hypnotic Thunder claps like two giant unseen hands As rain rolls out in droves across the land Burning in the sky, puddles on the ground So many differences when you just look around Star showers at late night hours cause magic powers To flower when the birth of your mind and soul Is witnessed by your deepest self and you Couldn't help but smile, just for a little while.
