Control Poem 66 Words Feb 6th
Whispering to the winds Words of power My tongue tastes rain Bittersweet Too much control Too little consequence Endless loop of up and down The tug of war, of life The oceans begin to simmer Emotions have reached boiling point A cataclysm of the soul Put me back together Too much control For one puny mortal Press the button now and Let's see where this goes

The Forest Poem 109 words Feb 7th The forest of my mind is thick with overgrowth I need to clear some of this shrubbery Make paths so that I don't get lost So my feet aren't embedded with thorns I can hear the birds chirping a morning song The beasts running free, nature's call The river running quietly, soothing and calm Clear my way so I can see them again The forest of my soul in it's discordant state Mending itself to become whole Trusting the mind to do it's job So harmony between the two can be had| The forest, the forest, It grows and grows A balance must be struck To keep everything right

So I literally wrote this in I'd say under two minutes, all in one go, and I'm actually surprised how well it turned out for such a quick write! Early Bird Poem 91 words Feb 8th Early bird gets the worm The worms digging a bit deeper Hawks fly like rocket ships Before they come back to earth A missile in flight, the bird attacks The worm is stuck, theres no turning back It slips and slides, the hawk dives With a slashing beak, the worm divides Early bird gets the worm Early bird is in flight Early bird, it's still night Nightcrawlers are in sight The wet ground is a breeding ground For delicious tasting worms Sliding down the early birds throat Enjoying all it's squirms

Fast Forward Poem 85 words Feb 9th
Time is moving slowly Yet quick at the same time In the moment it's a snail's pace In a wider perspective it's a race Fast forward a couple years Has it really been that long? Where did the time go? Where did the time go? Gotta live in the moment But keep the future in sight Big plans for a big future All while trying to soak it all in Absorb the moments Don't miss out Or soon you'll find yourself Stuck on fast forward

Eternal Fire Poem 70 words Feb 10th Eternal fire roars through the night Ripping through the forest A never ending cycle of wind and flames Yet nothing ever ends up the same It smothers, it burns, it takes over And all the wildlife flees It is deaf and does not respond To your begging or your pleas Eternal fire rips through the night Charring everything in sight Never will it be put out Eternal fire forever more

Went for one of the ol' 3 sets of 3 lines and really like this one. A lot. Cut Poem 49 words Feb 11th
Cutting through the air Wind slices, hail rips Weather does its worst Slicing through the flesh Is the job a blade does best At it's owners behest Cut for one and cut for all A tavern turned upside by a brawl And with it a cut of the profits

Tragic Situation Poem 82 words Feb 12th When you're up and down Can't stand on solid ground The world is shaking all around It's a tragic situation If the sun isn't shining Every word you speak is whining When it's a deep deep hole your mining It's a tragic situation If the water's too deep And the air you can't keep If the cliff is too steep It's a tragic situation If life is all grand Someone's holding your hand A soft pillow to land It's a magic situation

Woops thought I posted this Thirteen Poem 59 words Feb 13th
Thirteen the number of Fear and of superstition In apartment buildings You'll find a twelfth And a fourteenth floor But 13? It is no more No thirteen is bad luck You see that's between You and me, in the elevator The power's down now and We've got nowhere to be The lights down low and We're just playing thirteen

Open Space Poem 109 words Feb 16th Stars stretch across the solitude Expansive reaches just out of reach Soaring in silence, superior A lot of time to think out here Light licks the tin of my space can I'm floating in open space The light trickles in, who knows where its been I just know its shining in my face Following footsteps of spacial explorers Wandering endlessly in the same corridor Open space all over the place No one out here but me and the stars Whispering wondrously when we make contact I'll ask all the questions after the fact They speak in strange tongues, now their climbing the rungs Floating out here in open space

Clocks Poem 99 words Feb 18th
Clocks ticking the time away Like eternal spaceships cloaked in grey Fortitude that will not stay, another day A velocity we just cannot aspire too Gears grinding gratuitously, graciously Gifting a framework of sensibilities Laid out across a series of numbers That held together the fabric of time Woven between one and the next Clocks ticking like pounding rain On a tin roof, incessant and unending Drip, drip, drop, drop, it's all the same Set your alarms and say hello to the Circus clown who runs the fire Department store sale fifty percent off Selling a bunch of clocks

The earth screams as it Cooks eggs on demand asphalt breakfast Stones in your grits and tires in your teeth Hot! The earth screams as it sizzles Sizzles like a pan frying crackle, crackle, Pop, pop, pop, pop, earth grease spitting Through the air as it sizzles on city fumes Factory smoked bacon as a side

Every Day Poem 72 words Feb 20th Hello Welcome to the world Of unending questions and Pondering endless situations That you'll never find yourself in And yet maybe, what if? You ask yourself Every day And every day You come to the same conclusion “Yes” It's such a boring answer But it's the truth And in a world of half truths and two times the lies A truth is a welcome sight for Sore eyes that sympathize too often

Careless Poem 81 words Feb 21st
Time is all we have But it can never mend Words thrown through the air Striking bodies everywhere You can feel it in the air An electric pulsing everywhere The music is just neverending When I'm careless with you Time has no more meaning Inside my soul is screaming My heart torn asunder Struck by careless thunder Careless when I fell for you Tripping up by my own two shoes Falling then and falling now Careless gets you on the ground

Snarl Poem 103 words Feb 22nd
The rumbling coming from your throat Animalistic as you try not to choke A beast caged within ready to burst Surfacing to give you it's worst Snarl, shattering the quiet dawn The atmosphere quaking, earth is shaking Snarl, no longer your simple pawn The rains are coming, the clouds are humming Rip through the trees, fire, smoke Why fix it if it just ain't broke? Why smile when I can snarl Teeth bared ready to brawl Following desires from within Caged by the bars of sins Swimming in circles like a shark with no fins Let loose a snarl and let it begin

I want to break you down like A literary reviewer A restaurant critic Like Ebert and Roeper Analyze the ley lines of your eyes Cross the dots and make the Map make sense to someone who Can't read maps, not even a bit I want to break you down like It's 1977 and Night Fever is All the rage and you can't go a day Without a little Bee Gees in your life Listen to the rhythm of your heart and Hear it's song more clearly because I was never really good at Deciphering music anyways

Yellow Flowers Poem 52 words Feb 25th Yellow flowers grow in the grass Like little suns growing in the dirt A smile across a plant face The weather's nice enough for it Yellow flowers amongst the red and blue The purples, the greys, the oranges too Yellow flowers all around Making for beautiful ground
