-(In the same day Jay executed the interview, it was sunny and beautiful in the downtown area of the city. In the Cadillac truck, by himself, Jay was blasting Gang Starr’s “Mass Appeal”, the sub woofers shaking the concrete he drove on.)-
-(The car ran smoothly across the pavement as the world went on around him. On the streets hustlers sold their drugs and their goods, storeowners kept outside kempt, people made their ways to work. People stopped and turned their heads towards Jay. No matter what their motive was, whoever stared did that with some form of respect. Whether it was jealousy or anger or pride, everyone watched the famous, or infamous, Jay drive by them.)-
-(Soon, Jay pulled into a parking lot in front of a hair stylist. As he parked the truck and turned it off, the streets grew quiet again, or at least quieter than before. Jay slid from the driver’s seat and onto the pavement with a slight thud. As he gained his composure, he made his way into the stylists.)-
-(The place was filled with people, both women and men. It was loud with bad pop music, that top 40 crap that no one enjoyed. Jay walked over to someone getting their hair cut and tapped them on the shoulder.)-
“Who’s this tappin my shoul—JAY! Whats up, man!”
-(The man was extremely white, his orange hair complimenting his orange freckles. He kept his head straight, not wanting to upset the GORGEOUS beautiful blond cutting his hair, which was understandable. Jay stood there, smiling at his apparent friend.)-
“Ayo, man, whats up?”
-(Jay had a warm tone to his voice, sounding very tired while all the same sincere. He stood next to his buddy and quickly flashed a smile to the blond. She flashed one back, seeming to think that Jay was slightly attractive and batted her eyelashes at him.)-
“Oh nothing…hey, how’d you know to come in here?”
-(His buddy’s word shook Jay’s attention from the hair stylist to the buddy again, and Jay smiled back at him. Jay rested a hand on his shoulder, putting the other hand on his hip.)-
“Man, you ALWAYS here, every Thursday, 11 am sharp, son!”
-(The two of them laughed at that, Jay’s buddy trying to stay still in the stylist’s seat.)-
“Well, that’s true…hey, what do you think about that news I told you this morning? Was it too early?”
-(It was not evident that this man was the one that called Jay at 3 am. Jay knew this, though, and nodded, smiling.)-
“Nah, man, that wasn’t too early or nothin’…in fact, I laid down a promo, man!”
-(The man turned his head towards jay, but the stylist pushed his head forward. He spoke solemnly at this, nodding and smiling.)-
“A promo, Jay? Wow, gee, you got quite the work ethic!”
“Yeah, man…hey, you gon’ be around later?”
“Nah, man…why?”
“Well…just watch me on Revival, allright? I’m sure to kill two suckas…”
-(And without a word, Jay left the place, laughing and smiling.)-
