- The scene opens as the camera pans around the waiting room of what appears to be a doctors office. There are a few rows of obviously uncomfortable seats, and tables stacked with torn magazines that are about 5 years old at the newest. The room is quiet, with the odd sound of somebody laughing to themself at something in one of the magazines, or coughing quietly into their hand. Sitting in the corner is a man twice the size of everyone else in the room, he has his arms crossed in front of his large chest. A woman who looks to be in her 20's that Ace happens to find somewhat attractive keeps shooting quick glances at Ace. He finally decides to put an end to this and waves at her when she looks up from her magazine. The woman then blushes, and Ace motions for her to sit next to him. She slowly gets up and crosses the room, and then reluctantly sits down next to Ace. -
Ace: Hey, my name's Ace. Who might you be?
Woman: Darcee.
Ace: Well that's a pretty name, would you happen to be a fan of mine Darcee?
- The woman blushes a bit. -
Darcee: Probably your number one fan.
Ace: You'd be surprised how many times I hear that.
Darcee: Oh.
- She then gets a disappointed look on her face. -
Ace: I'm just kidding, never take me seriously. But really, my biggest fan, that's quite a bit to say after I've only had 2 matches.
Darcee: Yes but you handle yourself in the ring so well. I know you and Benjamin Banks are going to win the tag team titles. I already bet money on it.
Ace: Well then, I'm going to have to make you that much richer. So, Darcee, what are you here for?
Darcee: Just a routine check-up. I'm really surprised to see you here. Why would you go to a doctor in West Newbury?
Ace: Well I was born here in West Newbury, and when I have a choice I like to come to the same doctor I've went to my entire life, it's a habitual thing. I gotta get my ankle checked out. Boots don't work as well as you think.
Darcee: I'm sure thats not an uncommon trip to the doctors for a professional wrestler.
Ace: Well my opponents would rather me be going in to get my head checked, that's for sure. I'll bet after Return to Glory, Josh McKlayn is going to need to get his head checked. He's going in all alone.
Darcee: Is he crazy? He must be really dedicated to those tag team titles.
Ace: I'd call it something along the lines of crazy. You know what else is crazy, how people don't think me and Benjamin can win this match. They are totally overlooking us just because of our experience in the ring, or lack thereof.
Darcee: Don't worry Ace, I know when you're in the ring, you're the real deal. You get the job done, and Ben is a really impressive wrestler too.
Ace: That's why he's my partner. I know what he can do in the ring, he knows what I can do in the ring, and we trust each other. That's what a tag team is all about. Jay and Brass obviously got that confused on Trauma. They didn't know who they could trust.
- The doctor walks into the waiting room, sees Ace, smiles at him, and then turns and signals for an elderly lady to follow him into the room. -
Ace: Darn, I really wanna get through here. Not that I don't enjoy your company Darcee, but I got loads of stuff to get done while I'm back home.
Darcee: I can't believe I'm actually sitting here with Ace Anderson. I thought I'd be a million times more nervous than I actually am. It's a good thing you're so laid back.
Ace: I'm a laid back kinda guy I guess. Don't mean to totally take a wrong turn, but do you play Poker?
Darcee: I'm surprised I didn't ask you about Poker first, I read in your biography that you're planning on going to the World Series of Poker? I've been playing Hold'em for about 6 months now.
Ace: Well I'm having a game tonight at my place, you should come by. I'll give you my address.
- Ace searches his pockets for a scrap of paper, finally finds one, then realizes that he doesn't have a pen. He goes up to every person in the room asking for a pen, until finally he finds one. He writes his address and telephone number on the paper, and then hands it to Darcee. She flashes a very pretty ear to ear smile and then puts the scrap of paper in her purse. They go through a few more minutes of idle chit-chat, until Ace is called in by the doctor. He follows the doctor into the room. -
Doctor: So Ace, how is your ankle doing?
Ace: Well you know, it hurts a bit but I can wrestle through it. I just want to know if there is any long-term risk involved in wrestling on it.
- The doctor checks Ace's ankle for swelling and bruising, and possible bone chipping or fractures, and then looks up at Ace. -
Doctor: I think it's just a minor sprain, when you get your boot on you won't even feel it, but when you aren't wearing your boots, it's gonna sting like a motherfucker, to put it bluntly.
Ace: Well thanks Doc, that's all I wanted to hear, I'll see you later.
Doctor: Take er easy Ace, oh and good luck at Return to Glory.
Ace: Doc, never knew you were a wrestling fan. The Aces Wild is going out to you pal.
- Ace walks out of the room, and looks into the waiting room. He waits for Darcee to look up at him, smiles at her, then puts his thumb up to his ear, and mouths the words "call me." He walks away, then stops to look back and admire her pretty face as the scene fades to black. -
