A lone camera wonders through the PCW arena. Making circuit after circuit around the arena the camera finally comes to a stop outside of a singular door. There appears to be nothing special about this door, in fact it’s the same as almost every other door in the backstage area. What sets this door apart from the hundreds of other doors is a name. That name is James Keenan, and this is his door. A hand appears from the other side of the camera and gently knocks on the door. A voice from the other side, slightly muted but heard none the less. “Come in.” The hand pushes open the door and crosses from the highly lit hallway to the dark room that James Keenan has apparently sought refuge in. The room stands mostly bare, save for a locker, two chairs, and a television with a VCR.
The camera zooms in on Keenan who is half hidden in shadows. “June 5’th 2005. That was the moment that I knew PCW was for me. That was the date that PCW aired its first Pay-Per-View since it’s reopening earlier that year. I was in the audience on that day; I saw the hell that all the performers put themselves through. The one match that I will never forget, the first ever Pain of Glass match. I watched Pegasus, my idol and his biggest rival LoKi battle back and forth for almost half an hour in that glass hell. Pegasus won that exchange, and almost every exchange afterwards.” Keenan fast forwards the tape and the camera shifts focus from James to the television. On the TV a miniature Pegasus climbs up the ladder over a prone LoKi. Taking flight Pegasus crashes through LoKi and a pane of glass, covering LoKi for the pin fall; both men are rushed to the hospital afterwards; the only difference is that Pegasus goes to the hospital the winner.
The television shuts off and the lights come back on. Keenan sits with a smug grin on his face. “Pegasus is my idle, he’s the man I wanted the opportunity to challenge, I wanted the honor of facing him. But I never dreamed that it would come this soon. I have nothing but respect for Pegasus, the man has held every major title that PCW has to offer except for the North American title. Pegasus you have truly accomplished much in your tenure here in PCW but you’ve never faced anyone like me. I respect the hell out of you, but that won’t save you come Trauma, that won’t save you from facing me ever. So just because I’m the new guy in the locker room, don’t hold back on me Pegasus, because I will not hold back on you. Face me at your best, because if you don’t bring your best, then you will have no chance walking away from this one victorious.”
Keenan turns away from the camera and turns the television back on. Rewinding to the beginning of the match he studies the screen intently. “I’ve studied every defining match in your career, I’ve studied every major win and loss you’ve ever had, I know your wrestling style, I know your flaws and I know your strengths. In short, I know how to beat you. So prepare yourself, because you may have been one of PCW’s top draws back in your day, but remember this is my day now, your days as a top draw are over. I just want you to know, I think you can regain your lost glory, so why don’t you show me what your capable of, show me that your not a has been. Keenan waves the camera off and goes back to studying his tapes. The camera backs out of the sparsely lit locker room and slowly heads down the halls, the camera slowly fading to black.
