Pro-Wrestler Settles Out of Court Today

Greenville SOUTH CAROLINA, Jan 27 (AP) – Local wrestling star settles a lawsuit out of court today costing him nearly $75k all together. Jonathan Matthews, better known as Pure Class Wrestling’s resident rule-breaker Johnny Vivacious, was charged with assault and battery after a recent promotional appearance went awry.
Matthews attacked a fan at the north side Wal-Mart on January 19 during an autograph session. Matthews claims that the fan made disparaging remarks about his wife, Stace Matthews, which started the altercation. Several eyewitnesses were willing to come forward and discredit the statement.
“Oh yeah, he said some things, but that’s what wrestling fans do.” One eyewitness said. “There was nothing said that would provoke me to put someone through a table.”
Matthews and his team of legal representation agreed that it would be best to settle this case out of court. An attempt to keep Matthews from being embarrassed publicly with a drawn out day in court. Matthews was said to have settled in excess of $50k.
His day of paying up didn’t stop there. Wal-Mart also pressed charges on both Matthews and Pure Class Wrestling. Matthews settled his case out of court with Wal-Mart earlier in the week for a sum of $15k. Pure Class Wrestling has allegedly fined Matthews to pay their settlement with Wal-Mart.
“He needs to quit spending his money like this.” Another eyewitness added. “That shoppaholic that he’s married to may want another $2500 pair of shoes.”
The Matthews can afford these settlements, but how long can she continue to live the lavish lifestyle and he continue his bad-boy ways at prices like this? If they are no longer working the mainstream promotions, it will prove to be quite costly when the $3.5b inheritance is squandered.
