Local Pro-Wrestler Attacks Fan
The Greenvile News Gazette (Sports Columnist Jason Azaria)
Greenville SOUTH CAROLINA, April 04 (AP) – A Local Pro-Wrestler, that goes by the name of Blade Lionheart, is currently being investigated by The Greenville Police Department after a fan reported being attacked by the wrestler after a Pure Class Wrestling event.
As the report goes, the fan, who cannot be named until after the investigation, had been waiting in the parking lot following the Trauma telecast, hoping to get an autograph or two as the wrestlers were leaving. One of the last wrestlers to leave was that of accused Blade Lionheart. The fan said he had been getting ready to leave when Blade backed into him.
"I was in the midst of leaving when the psycho crashed into me!" said the fan. "I was scared for my safety at first, but when I realized I was OK, I got out to see if the other guy was alright...little did I know that he was going to do more damage than the car."
The rest of the report alledges that, once out the car, Blade went and attacked the fan after realizing he was wearing a T-Shirt of Blade's opponent for the next week, a wrestler that goes by the name of "Wolverine" Anthony Douglas, and threw the fan through a car windshield.
We tried to contact Anthony Douglas, real name Anthony Weinstein, but we were unable to reach him for comment.
"What he did was unneccasary and uncalled for. We [fans] shouldn't have to worry about our safety because of immature wrestlers. If he has problems, he should seek a shrink. I'll do my best to seek civil and criminal action against him."
Blade is not the first Pure Class Wrestling wrestler to have attacked a fan. There have been numerous reports and lawsuits filed against wrestlers and the promotion itself.
Pure Perfection Incorporated, the father company of PCW, were unavailable for comment at the present moment, but we did receive a letter that stated, "We here at Pure Perfection Inc. will not tolerate this kind of behavior. If the reports are true, we will do our best to settle this matter and do what's neccassary to ensure our fans safety."
For the hundreds of thousands fans that flock to the TV sets and come to watch the show, this reporter, hopes they come through on their word.
