::The scene opens somewhere in a small town in South Carolina. Lantlas's brother Neovan is scanning the street signs, searching for the place to which he'd been trying to contact for days. Finally, he finds the number for which he was searching, and enters the door. There is no sign on this door, and it leads Neovan up a creaking staricase. Neovan reaches the top, and starts to knock on the door, but it opens by itself. Neovan nervously walks inside.::
Neovan- Miss Clanstine?
::Neovan searches around the dark room of obvious age. Possibly Revolutionary-war era, but authentic nonetheless. Finally, Neovan finds an older woman slightly rocking in a chair. Approaching very slowly, he cautiously rests a hand on the chair. Before he can say anything, her raspy voice cuts the tension.::
Clanstine- You've come seeking answers, but not for yourself.
Neovan- Yes, I have.
Clanstine- Tell me, child.
Neovan- It's my brother.
Clanstine- Blue-haired, is he?
Neovan- Yes, how did you know that?
Clanstine- It does not concern you. What is it that you fear for your sibling?
Neovan- He seems conflicted. I've caught him arguing with himself on several occasions.
Clanstine- His soul and heart have split. They seem to have a vendetta against each other, for each causes the other pain.
Neovan- What caused this?
Clanstine- Your brother... he's not normal, is he?
Neovan- Not by any means. Come on, he has blue hair.
Clanstine- His appearance is not what renders him normal. It's where he comes from.
Neovan- You mean that he thinks he's an elf?
Clanstine- The most brilliant are also the most feared for their differences. Child, I must speak to him.
Neovan- He'll never come to a place like this.
Clanstine- Then you must take me to him before it is too late.
...
I awaken, a bright light causes me to shield my eyes yet again. Again I rise, finding myself in unfamiliar surroundings. Looking around, I see pictures on the wall. Something in my instinct tells me not to look, but like normal, my curiousity gets the better of me. Walking slowly towards the wall, I can feel my heart dropping to the floor. Green eyes from these pictures are staring at me. Flowing red hair covering them in that ever-so-sexy way. The stare, oh that stare, almost as if she's looking right at me, daring me to inquisit her on the outcomings of things.
Before I have a chance to dwell, I hear the door open. I turn, and there she is! I start to speak, but my voice gets caught up in my throat, possibly resulting from fear. Her gaze drifts my way, and I'm frozen. Am I not supposed to be here? Is she going to call the cops? What am I going to do? I can't hide!
"It's about time you woke up," she playfully remarks as she walks towards me. She starts to reach a hand towards my face, and I shudder away. This can't be happening, I don't want to feel this pain again. I turn and see the look of discomfort on her face.
"What's wrong?"
What's wrong? You only tore my heart out by letting me find you with some random guy on a rainy night! How can you possibly ask a question so stupid?
"You were dreaming again, weren't you? Babe, I told you those dreams would never come true." She raises her right hand and twirls something on her ring finger. "I never would've accepted this if I were going to do something like that."
The engagement ring? Was she just blindly going for pure torture here?
"Why are you still wearing that?" I manage to squeak out.
"Well, why wouldn't I wear it? After all, it is our five-year anniversary today."
Five-year anniversary? Even if we were still together, that only would make for two-and-a-half...
"Has it really been five years?"
"You always forget the day, don't you? It's August 11th, same as it's been since the day we fell for each other."
August? It's March, last time I checked.
"Get yourself dressed, we have a lot of plans to take care of today."

::Neovan is seen arriving at the PCW arena. Parking in the handicapped spot obviously, he walks around to the side of the car and gently helps Miss Clanstine out. She struggles to look up in front of her to see the massive structure.::
Clanstine- I never imagined this place being so big.
Neovan- If things keep going the way they have been for Lantlas and Sinn, they might have to find a bigger one.
Clanstine- Especially if they're facing each other.
Neovan- What?
Clanstine- Patience, child. You'll know all you need to know soon enough.
...
We're walking down the street, and this place does look oddly familiar. I can't seem to place the surroundings, although there is the smell of water nearby. Many people greet us. We seem to be quite a popular pairing among the citizens of wherever we are. Many of the men will not look me in the eye, however. I guess it's no surprise that she attracts them, even when I'm standing right next to her.
Finally, we come approaching a massive white building. One with plenty of glass and people in costume lining the streets in anticipation of the doors opening. Now I know where we are...
"Remember when we were here?"
I turn and look into her eyes, remembering that night. It'd been a short time since my longtime girlfriend and I had split, yet we both had pre-registered for Otakon a long time in advance. My, how awkward it was going to be. Luckily, this convention held some twenty-two thousand people, so it'd be easy to lose her. The problem being six-seven and having blue hair is that anyone could find you at any given time, and plenty of them did. Everyone had questions about her, about what had happened, as if it was any of their business. But finally, there were those comforting green eyes, the same ones I'd seen at the cliff recently. The look of concern instead of greedy anticipation for gossip. Perhaps because she had recently gone through something similar herself.
"Yes, I do."
That night on the dance floor, the Saturday, the anticipated climax of the entire weekend, everyone could be found where the rave was. The flickering lights, the blasting music, but that world was non-existant to me. The only thing going on in my world was this beautiful angel before me, moving to the music and capturing my heart with her beauty and grace. I've never been one to dance, but I held on to her and moved anyway, not having a care in the world. August 11th, the day was. I'd never forget it.

::Neovan brings Miss Clanstine into Lantlas's locker room. Lantlas is passed out in the corner. Neovan starts to walk towards him, but Miss Clanstine holds up a hand.::
Clanstine- Leave him be.
Neovan- What if he's hurt?
Clanstine- His hurt is not of the physical type. He will awaken soon enough, but you must go.
Neovan- Why? I want to make sure he's all right!
Clanstine- You will know when I tell you.
::Neovan walks off frustrated, and Miss Clanstine sits still, her eyes not leaving the sleeping giant in the corner.::
...
Finally, after a long wait in line, we got our passes and entered the world of the fictional. As usual, most thought I was in costume, even though I wasn't. The wrestling fans among the masses screamed and excitedly asked for pictures, to which I was more than happy to oblige.
The time finally came, the rave. They never changed the format, and the location was still the same. In the flickering light, I lead her to the very center and tried to recreate the night I fell in love with this beautiful angel. This time, however, something was different. I almost felt like there were two eyes watching for me. I looked at her, and she was lost in the music, moving away like the professional she is, so I went along with it. Finally, she grabbed my arm and looked me in the eyes.
"There's been something on your mind all day, hasn't there?"
"Yes."
"Why haven't you told me? Are you having regrets?"
I looked deep into her eyes, but something didn't look right. In the reflection, I saw a black figure. Aiming something towards her...
A GUN!
Almost as I recognized the shape of the object he was holding, I could hear something explode. I pushed her out of the way, but I felt something extremely sharp pierce my shoulder. She fell to the floor a couple feet away, and looked on with horror, as did everyone else. I turned to my side and saw a pool of blood forming on the right side of my chest. I saw two pairs of black boots walk up near my head. I fell to my back, and looked straight into the lights. Breaking into them was a face I recognized. It was Devon! Holding her arm was none other than... Seth Sinn?!
"I'm sorry, Lantlas. I wasn't aiming for you. She needed to be taken care of. I couldn't let her hurt you anymore."
I wanted to scream that she wasn't hurting me! That everything was finally back to normal! That I was in love with her and it was returned, the way I knew it had... always... meant... to...
The room started spinning, and everything was going dark. The last thing I saw was her eyes, tears streaming from them as she touched my face one last time. My eyes shut, but in what felt like seconds, opened again.
...
Clanstine- Come to me, my child.
::Barely able to walk on her own, Miss Clanstine slowly made her way to the corner where Lantlas lay. There was a chair near his bed, and she slowly sat down.::
Clanstine- Your pain will soon leave you.
...
I looked around, and the room was completely dark. My boot hit the floor, but everything echoed like a cold, dark sewer. It was so dark that I couldn't even see my own hand in front of my face. Suddenly, I saw something in the darkness. Two glowing green dots. I could hear footsteps walking towards me. I suddenly clutched myself in pain as I felt a boot kick my ribs.
"Your father showed you the way to happiness, but it ultimately led to pain. Now I have a new lesson to teach you. This is the way things would've been, had she not done what she did to you. You see, those close to you, the ones you spend so much time protecting, will eventually turn on you! What do you do? You end up sacrificing your own life to save the same human that betrayed you!"
"The path to happiness ended in pain. The path I would've chosen ended in pain as well. I don't understand. Everything I ever wanted was in my grasp, and somehow still, everything ends in betrayal and pain."
"And to think, all you do is bring it on yourself. Shying yourself away from your own kind to protect these ingrates, who are only using you for your talents and the lack of theirs."
"Turning around's not an option when you're too fargone, I guess. Even if all the signs are saying this path is leading to a dead-end street, I still seem to follow them. Not sure that I know any more, what I feel right now to look back when I dreamed that I'd have everything I want. It's so hard to just to get through. Perhaps it will always be slightly out of reach."
...
::Miss Clanstine's ability rested in her use of touch to feel the other person's thoughts. Finally, she reached forward, resting her hand on the temple of Lantlas. The vision rushed to her head, two of them standing in an open plain. One with green eyes, and one with blue eyes. Things were circling around them, appearing to be the closest and most important things to him. The names Seth Sinn, Devon Drake, Terry... they were all rolling into one. Spinning in circles around the two beings, but finally the green-eyed one turned and stabbed the blue-eyed one with a knife! The blue-eyed being dropped to the ground, and the green eyes of the other one glowed. Suddenly, everything stopped spinning, and one by one, the things closest to him dropped and vanished. The green-eyed one was left in nothing but a wasteland of black, but a new accessory on his shoulder. A championship belt.::
::The clouds above quickly formed a spinning black circle of doom, and red liquid dropped from them, landing right on the championship belt. Blood. Blood was falling, completely covering the championship belt and the face of the green-eyed one. The green eyes glowed one more time, and a smile flashed across the face of him.::

"We need help in here!"
I bolted up, suddenly in my own locker room. What the hell was going on? There were people everywhere, frantically trying to do something. What? Why were they all in here?
A group of them rushed away, leaving only three.
"What's going on?" I asked.
The three of them looked at me, almost with a look of disgust. In the background, I saw Neovan, his face almost completely white, shaking in the corner near the door. The three remaining strangers started to walk towards it, and I heard only two words from one of them...
"She's dead."
