The scene opens into a bright, blue and yellow sky. The wind touches the leaves of spring, though not a gust can be felt beneath the coolness the mornings bring. Benjamin Banks lifts his head from his bed; he looks at the window that allows a bright shine of light to penetrate into the spectacle of his eyes. After a few moments pass, Benjamin now swings himself to the corner of his bed and with a weary look on his face brushes his hair back while catching the time shown on his alarm clock sitting on the oak table directly to his left. While Benjamin sits, he decides to spend the morning going over some dates he can best relate too.
Benjamin finishes off the last piece of toast and sets the plate on the cupboard before washing it down with lukewarm water. He takes a look at the clock: 8 thirty. As time passes, Benjamin decides to begin writing down some of the pass memories he’s had in PCW. Benjamin reaches for a pen and paper, and begins listing off some of the significant memories starting with the one that best fits his life’s implication; Hanz, the man behind the mask of beauty, and forgiveness. Though time could not have come at a better time Benjamin would always recall. He remembered the lectures, the unexpected visits and the challenges. He will never forget this man behind the mask. Benjamin continues to write, discussing his title reign with Ace Anderson, the passing of his father and the importance of the fans. Finally, Benjamin couldn’t make of anything else to write about so he sets the pencil and paper back on the counter and relaxes on the armchair.
Noon came faster than expected, Benjamin was caught sleeping and was eventually going to be late for his interview for the Miami News recording. The Miami news team had a story filled in the schedule and Benjamin was not going to miss this, Not only for him, but for the fans as well. Benjamin grabbed a quick pair of jeans that had been laid out from the night before, put them on loosely and tucked in his shirt. It only took Benjamin 5 minutes and he was out the door. When he arrived in the Miami news parking lot, a man dressed in a security guard uniform directed Benjamin into a spot on the grounds and led him inside the studio. When Benjamin walked in, immediately a rush of politics, fans and Miami news workers swarmed the PCW star. Even though time was running scarce, Benjamin planned to make time for his fans. He signed autographs here and there, replied questions like: The chances are in my favor, and we will have to wait and see. All of these questions relating to the North American championship match going to be help at the next PCW pay per view. When the rush began to fade, Benjamin made his way into the studio where the film crew was set up ready to film yet another clip. Benjamin was not new at this so he got himself ready while the interviewer made her acquaintance with Benjamin. She introduced herself as Sheryl Hicks and that she would be asking him a few questions regarding the match and his return. Benjamin just replied with a smile on his face awaiting the show to begin. Before long, the director pointed to the two and the countdown began. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Sheryl- Hello and welcome to this special addition of behind the break. Ironically enough we are sitting here with the Unbreakable Benjamin Banks. Now Benjamin we know you’re not a stranger to the spotlight. Tell us how you became so successful.
Benjamin- This question can be answered in many different traditions. I would have to say that my mother influenced my career a lot. I mean, considering our parents influence whatever we do as a young child. They buy the puzzle; it’s our job to finish it. That is how I deal with most of life’s challenges.
Sheryl- That is very interesting Benjamin, I think we would all like to know, how is your mother doing these days?
Benjamin- Actually, she passed before I was born. So, yeah.
Sheryl- Oh, I am sorry Benjamin. But, I am confused she influenced your life how?
Benjamin- Well, when I say she bought the puzzle, I am serious. When I was 5 I received a puzzle and inside was a clue for each of the puzzle pieces that I would have to find somewhere in the house. One of the clues was only revealed to me last Christmas when I decided to look for my old toys and such child historic events. The clue was, your destiny lies beneath the staircase. I looked the beneath the staircase and sure enough there was me, holding the PCW North American championship. Sort of ironic wasn’t it? I found out that, that was the last piece of the puzzle and it was shipped to my girlfriend by my father and she personally placed the puzzle piece beneath the stairwell. I feel this greatly influenced my life because she knew her life was ending vastly. She also knew she would only be with me for several weeks before the life was taken from her. This puzzle gave me hope, it was like my mother was with me in a challenge set for me to finish. When I finished the challenge, I created a bond with her I’ll never be able to explain in one day. I love her, so very much.
Sheryl- Benjamin, that was very emotional. I am sitting back with tears right now. We are going to have to go to break, however when we come back I will introduce you to a new topic. Stay tuned fans for we will be back after a short commercial break.
Benjamin just sat in complete obscurity, his mind solely on his mother and her face. Questions thrown all over Benjamin, however all he could hear were the mumbles made by each person in the room. Benjamin finally regained himself and by this time the show returned and Benjamin prepared himself while he adjusted his hair.
Sheryl- Benjamin we are back, and we only have a few minutes left with you. I want to ask you about your match this upcoming night at Trauma 41.
Benjamin relaxed his shoulders and glistened the hair on his chin to one side while positioning himself in a more comfortable manner.
Benjamin- This week I am in a match against two men in which I’ve never faced before. One of the men I will be facing for the North American championship. However, that goes without understanding that even with the championship on the line, I will still have to worry about Atlas. A new superstar in the PCW, one I have never seen or heard of since my return. I won’t explain my strategy going into this match with him because, well why should I approach any match differently, the objective is to win. I will do whatever it takes as long as the match is clean and fair played. Non Compos Mentis and I will face off tonight yes. I know he will try to take me from competing at the Pay per view. Although, this will not be a factor in that will take any punishment bound for me. God will see me threw this match; I will find a way to make it to the championship match one way or another.
Sheryl- Benjamin I want to thank you so much for your time, I’m sure we all enjoyed your interview today and we all hope to hear from you again in the future.
Benjamin- Thanks a lot for having me.
While the director ends the clip, Benjamin watches the tape once more before heading out the wide double doors. Before leaving Benjamin looks back and shows a sign of thanks and basically a sign of relief as though it appears. Benjamin jumps into his red convertible, and drives along the highway. The afternoon in full shine now, Benjamin returns back to his home and steps into the driveway. Before going any farther, Benjamin looks up into the sky shinning back into his eyes. He begins to smile and looks down as he walks into his house. As he steps into the doorstep he begins to laugh while shaking his head.
Benjamin- It really worked?
Benjamin picks up a small piece of paper and looks into the living room as his entire family stand clapping for the ever so cheerful yet surprised Benjamin Banks.
The scene fades to darkness as Benjamin wipes a tear from his eye.
