Melissa layed on her stomach on the bed, her legs bent at the knees and twiddling with each other in the air. Her head was tilted to the side and resting on the bed with her eyes glued to the television, not that she was watching anything. The last five minutes she'd just been flipping through the channels, not even taking the time to see what was on each one. Just click... click... click. It didn't bother Pegasus though, he had other things on his mind. Like his upcoming match... and the fact that it was under Genesis Rules. How sweet is that right?
Anyways, his upcoming match and the stipulations on it were the reason that he was currently doing sit-ups on the floor. Training had become his number one priority this week, and even Melissa took second place to this... well, not second place, he still made time for her. He wasn't going to ditch her no matter how much his job mattered to him, but he wasn't going to give up training for her either. So he worked out and she just... well... hung out. It was better than nothing right? He kept working at his training, sweat beading on his body and then rolling down to the carpeted floor below, and she kept clicking, occasionally sending a glance in his direction to see if he'd planned on taking a break sometime soon.
I'm booooooooored Jonathan... let's do something!
He continued on with his sit-ups, making it almost seem like he hadn't heard her in the first place. She slowly turned back to the television and the remote, and proceeded to flip through the channels again. It was then that Pegasus slowed his workout and stopped in the upright position, wrapping his arms around his knees to hold him up.
Well, what did you have in mind?
I have no idea... I was thinking you might have one. All you've been doing this week is working out and training really... and... hey! I know what we could do!
Alright... well, let's hear it.
Well, I know that your opponent has said stuff about you in those promo thingies that you guys do, sooooooo maybe we could head to the arena and you could do one about him!
Pegasus slowly fell onto his back, and then continued on with his workout. He was trying to think of how to explain to her his way of doing things, and why he disliked doing promos. It turned out to be harder than he though it would be... but he managed to think of something finally... well... kinda.
Well... why would I do that?
Duh! Why WOULDN'T you wanna do one? I mean, your opponent has probably been saying all sorts of bad things about you, bringing your entire character down with just simple words. And you aren't going to say ANYTHING in your defense? Maybe bring him down a peg or two while your at it too?
He continued on for a few more sit-ups and then fell upon his back. Melissa slowly crawled her way over to the edge of the bed and look down at him, her head cocked to the side. She smiled as she looked down upon him, laughing as he gasped for breath after having been working out for a few hours now. He slowly tilted his his head up and looked at her smiling face, and returned it with a smile of his own.
I could care less if he made me seem like a clown in the eyes of PCW, whether it be my fellow roster or the fans that hear it. It makes no difference to me. In the end, it all comes down to that ring, and how we look once we step inside. Make me look like a jester now, but once we get in that ring I'll make myself look more like the king of the court.
Hahahahaha.... oh boy... that's classic... but uh... is that what you really think about that stuff?
Of course not... I just thought it sounded good to say. In all honesty, when it all comes down to it, the words that I should say escape me, and that's the way it's always been. I will never be great when it comes to that stuff, so I just let them say what they want, when they want. If I ever had to go toe to toe with someone on the microphone, you can bet that I'd end up being laughed out of the ring. I do my best to stay away from doing much talking about my opponents because... well... it's just not my thing.
Soooo... what you are saying is that they could call you the biggest loser in the PCW... and the only reason you are even on the roster is seniority?
Well... I think I might have one of the largest numbers in the loss column, so yea, I am the biggest loser in PCW. And you might be right about me only being here for seniority as well. I mean, I'm not the oldest guy on the roster, but I'm not the best either. And all the new talent that we have coming in... jeez... I don't think I can match up to them when it is all said and done. I'm surprised they've kept me around for so long... although...
He trailed off into thought and his eyes drifted off of her and towards the ceiling. She waited for him to finish his thought... and she waited... and waited. Finally, she buried her head into the sheets of the bed to muffle her sigh and then gently slapped his knee which got his attention.
What were you saying now?
Well... uh... heh... I was curious about the stipulations for my match. The match is under the new Genesis Title rules.
Meaning?
Well... for starters, we can go outside of the ring and not be counted out. And after Atlas walked out after the last few matches, that'll stop him from doing that this time. We can't win out there, and we only have fifteen minutes too, so we can't go real far from the ring.
... and that means what?
Ummm... not sure. But I'd like to think that it means I'm one of the top people in line for the first shot at it. Which would be really sweet. But I'm not going to hold my breath... I'm not exactly top dog around here... not even close.
She slowly pulled herself off the bed and laid beside him, running a hand through his hair. It was something he liked a lot for some reason, and she seemed to do it perfectly. Every single time...
Well... there's always a chance Jonathan, always a chance...
OOC: I wanna apologize for the bad RP and the late posting. Been a long week and weekend, and meh... just... yea... sorry Atlas and Icey, and the rest of PCW.
