[Throughout every stage of life, you are handed new sets of challenges every single day. Now, how you handle yourself through each situation, determines, of course your character. I liked to think of myself at one point in my life, as a rogue. I was at one point, one of thee worst human beings alive. All it seemed like I cared about was myself and where I would get my next set of drugs to take. Reality slapped me clear in my face when Destiny took our at the time, two year old daughter, Kristen away from me. When I was presented with the cards of time slowly disintegrating before my very eyes, I KNEW right then and there I had to clean my act up..Or lose the greatest love of my life. Rehab was the right direction for a chosen path at that very point in time, and now I’m cleaned up and more dedicated to my children and wife more than I ever have been. Dedication is the name of the game. I have always been committed to dedicating myself every time I step into the ring to getting the win at any cost. But something changed last week when I approached for my match with The Silence. Before I even had the shot to make it inside, an unseen foe decided to sneak attack me from behind.
Karma really is a bitch I guess. For I made a living out of sneak attacks throughout my career, and finally one happened against me. Yes, throughout my life I have survived every obstacle ever thrown at me. Dedication still runs rampant through my mind, body, heart and soul. As for the attack from behind. No problem Joshua. For what you might see as a quick advantage to lead into our encounter. Really is going to be your downfall the moment I’m physically able to knock you down underneath the totem pole.]
I made my triumphant return to the world known as Pure Class Wrestling, with a worthy competitor as my first opponent. Jade. Now, I’ve never been against facing either gender, but this girl had fire. Courage. Spunk if you will. But like with some of the greats and agonizing laugh offs I’ve faced in weeks, months and years ago, I found a way to capitalize on a sudden mistake. Before Miss DuPrae knew what she had done, she quickly found herself tapping out to force the relinquishment of a submission hold I locked into place on her. In one split second, her momentum sunk into the ground and her vision of getting another victory in the column, shattered. But hey, we can’t win them all, and I appreciated the fact she brought her A-Game to the table. In the end of her side of things, it just wasn’t enough. Oh well. Maybe another place. Another time for her.
Walking out of the ring that night and glancing back inside to see her in obvious pain from the previous hold, I couldn’t help but to wonder if my star was still shining or if this was really just a masquerade for what was going to occur further on in the months. Reaching the backstage area and eventually my dressing room, I had the chance to ponder my placement within a career. Thankfully my match went on early in the card, so I had the chance to catch the rest of the show. While it was playing a segment out in the open ring, I got to talk with Destiny and Kristen via telephone. My lively daughter was very upbeat and proud that her daddy walked out as the winner. After letting her know that I loved her and getting the sentiment returned, I managed to speak with Destiny.
Her presence was very shaky, but still inside I could tell she was well aware of life and not closed off to it like as if the moon were eclipsing the sun. Meaning, light was still shining in the darkness that we were facing. A lengthy conversation was taking place and right at the tail end of it all, she wanted to discuss moving out of Anaheim. But not just Anaheim. Rather, California as a whole. Destiny wanted to restart in a brand new area of the country, to get away from our past and present life that was hit with ups and downs. None of them very pleasant to deal with on a daily basis. Certainly I was open to hearing my wife’s side of things about moving and where we would go. The states I had in mind, were the Carolina’s. Travel time wouldn’t be a problem and I’d be closer to my family so they wouldn’t have to go back and forth like I do.
So, I let Destiny know that I would take her request into deep consideration and by my arrival time of going from one coast back home to the other, would have an answer. That answer the second I reached her, was a Yes.
That was last week. Pass over to this week as I prepared for The Silence.
I was warming up in the locker room, before getting word that it was time for me to go out for my match. Thanking the production assistant, I geared up for match number two in my comeback. Once I heard my music and tossed the curtain open, I made it out to the arena to a much different reaction than normal. Mixed. However, I never made to the ring as like mentioned earlier, I was sneak attacked by an unseen assailant. Come to find out, it was a man by the name of Joshua Megtorlas. Upon seeing the footage of his decision to assault me, all I could do was sit back and laugh while licking my wounds.
It let me know that I was still alive. Still human. And that not even I, was excused from a beating. A small price to pay for a new sense of where I was going in my career. I have plans to move from California. I have plans on becoming the number one contender to the Genesis Title. But come Last Call. I have big plans, on personally putting Joshua out of any title contention. Permanently.
