In bittersweet, hapless pursuit of an inkling, of something I dare say exists, your soul stands out golden, familiar and lovely while all the world rests on a lie. When space is a hind'rance that murders our chances, and all borrowed endings go stale, when you are a dreamscape and I'm a shell empty, take this to remember me by.
Take this; it is all I can give. Take this till you've taken your fill. Take this; it is all I have left, and make of my heart what you will.
So often I wonder what's coming tomorrow, so often I look for you there. What lands have you traveled, and where are you going? What mystery spins in your eye? Is it by coincidence we intersected? How long till we say our farewells? In case you forget me, in case time is wilting, take this to remember me by.
Take this; I have done what I can. Take this or I'll break it in two. Take this; it is all I have left, and I'm giving my heart up for you.
