Live on E! from the Peace Center for the Performing Arts in Greenville, South Carolina
Introduction
Details: There are still fans and celebrities piling into the Peace Center for Performing Arts in Greenville, South Carolina for the fifth edition of the Icey Awards. Earlier in the evening, Pureclasswrestling.com was the exclusive home for the Most Inspirational Icey Award, which was won by Nacho Grande and presented to him by 2Guys, and the Most Heated Rivalry Award, which there was no presenter for, as Sadistic came, presented, and stole the award for himself.
Once the cameras focus to inside the building, custom-ordered music from composer Phillip Glass plays and the host of the evening, Neil Patrick Harris, welcomes us into the show.
Biggest Debut
Past winners include: Landon Divine; Johnny Vivacious; Silence; Justin Michaels & Johnny Vivacious
Taiwanese actor and singer Jay Chou presented the award. High Tide was announced as the winner and there was quite a humorous moment when Tide, a “pirate,” stared down Chou and asked him if he thought ninjas could really beat a pirate. Chou chuckled, but it was High Tide who got the last laugh when did the Crane fighting stance as Chou was exiting the stage. High Tide informed everyone that his debut was infamous, but his continued success, especially as the greatest North American Champion to ever live, will be the reason he will be legendary.
Winner(s): High Tide
Best Tag Team
Past winners include: Pegasus & The Prophet; Dominion; 2Guys; Grimm & Sadistic
The award was presented by former HHW and PCW commentators and Bob and Pierre. Los Dos Amigos were announced as the winners, but as Nacho Grande was making it onto the stage, the commentating duo announced that Heavy Metal was unfortunately unable to make it due to travel complications. Nacho shook the hands of Bob and Pierre and then spoke to those in attendance. He talked about his current tag team with Justin Kaard as Los Amigos Dos, but then stated there would be no Los Amigos Dos if there wasn't any Los Dos Amigos. Nacho thanked Heavy Metal for being his best friend in all of wrestling and thanked him for all he was able to help Nacho accomplish. Nacho said he missed HM, but he and Kaard will try to be the best team they can be in dedication to him.
All of a sudden, as this was going on, Nacho's microphone cut off and then, “Beautiful People” by Marilyn Manson begins to play. Strolling into the center is Jason Willard, wearing a tuxedo shirt, sneakers, and jeans, while Loco is wearing a pair of faded blue jeans, no shirt, and a pair of boots- both very informal clothing to arrive at an awards show.
Loco pulls a microphone from his jeans pocket and mocks Nacho Grande for his “love-fest” for Metal. Willard received the microphone from Loco and asks Kaard how it feels to be second-fiddle to a man who can't even compete in the ring anymore, and also asks if being a second-rate Heavy Metal is helping him pick up the fellas. Loco once again gets the microphone and announces that Los Amigos Dos should consider the beating their going to give them in the War Games Match as a sample for what they'll have in store for them at Mass Destruction. Willard receives the microphone one last time to tell Nacho and Kaard to keep the belts nice and shined for them, because, “they're coming home at Mass Destruction!”
Pure Class Security then proceed to intercept Loco and Willard and escorts them from the building.
Winner(s): Los Dos Amigos
Executive Award
Past winners include: Luis Malave {2x}; Alejandro Walker; Skylar Marshall
The award was presented by PCW Personality Kassandra Black, during a commercial break. For the second Iceys in a row, “The Icemann” Luis Malave was announced as the winner of this award. During his acceptance speech, Luis thanked those who continued to support him with PCW, and said the PCW wouldn't be where it was at without all that continued support. He then took a moment out to acknowledge the hard-work and dedication that the staff puts in and name-drops a fellow named Hank. He says of Hank: “...a creative man who is always there in the background when you need him. This award is as much mine, as it is his.”
Winner(s): “The Icemann” Luis Malave
It's Time for a Hostile Takeover
Details: We were given a special musical performance from Debt Collectors, who performed their song, “Hostile Takeover” as highlights of the last few editions of Trauma show throughout the center. “Hostile Takeover” by Debt Collectors will be the official theme song for Hostile Takeover 3.
Better Than Grimm Award
Sadistic came out to read the nominations of this award, which he sponsored, to a loud chorus of boos. Each nominee was shown a very detailed highlight reel, and each coming with Sadistic voice-over, describing how amazing he was at what he accomplished. After the clip, Sadistic, while providing his own drum-roll, Sadistic read that he leaving Grimm at Trauma 101, essentially ensuring that Los Dos Amigos would defeat them for the tag titles, was the winner. Sadistic explained how fed up he was with Grimm's incompetence, and that he had to show the world who the real leader of that team was.
Sadistic then asked for his sister Ruth, who was in attendance, to approach the stage, as he wanted to thank her for she was the only one who ever supported her. Ruth obliged, but when she made it to the stage, she quickly lambasted Sadistc, explaining that she doesn't support him and that he is tearing up their family by going back on his word. Sadistic didn't seem too impressed with that, so he decides to blast her in the gut with a boot!
After the kick to the gut, Sadistic quickly nails her with a Sadistic DDT! Grimm comes running onto the stage, but Sadistic darts off. As Sadistic runs off, and while Grimm tends to his fallen sister, Sadistic screams, “Do I have your attention now?!” Grimm responds with thunderous resonance: “I'll see you at Hostile Takeover!”
Winner(s): Sadistic deserting Grimm at Trauma 101, allowing Los Dos Amigos to win the PCW Tag Team Championships
Best Match
Past winners include: Pegasus vs. LoKi @ Revival; Ace Anderson vs. Lantlas @ Collision Course; Al Laiman vs. Ace Anderson @ Living A Legacy II; Nacho Grande vs. Heavy Metal @ Living A Legacy III
The award was presented by Santa Clause and a man dressed up as Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer. After a few Christmas-related jokes, the presenters read off the nominees, and then announced LoKi vs. Murdoc vs. Lantlas at Game Over 3 was the winner. LoKi and Lantlas came to the stage to accept the award for the three. While at the podium, both Lantlas and LoKi thanked each other for putting on such an amazing fight, and then Lantlas congratulated LoKi for coming out the victor and finally breaking through the glass ceiling by winning the PCW World Championship. LoKi then chimed in a championship he still has in his possession today.
Lantlas then announced that at Trauma 104, something clicked, like if he had an epiphany. He then exclaimed that he has officially asked, and accepted to be apart of Team Walker at Hostile Takeover in the War Games. LoKi looked a bit flustered at Lantlas being announced as part of Team Walker, but congratulated him all the same.
However, before all was said and done, Non Compos Mentis walked out onto the stage, from backstage, and said that Lantlas made a huge mistake, for at Hostile Takeover, NCM was officially a part of Team Marshall. NCM then moved to have a face-to-face with Lantlas, while LoKi sort of faded to the background.
Winner(s): LoKi vs. Murdoc vs. Lantlas: Game Over 3
Seeing Red Music
Details: There was a comedy skit, shown on PCW-Trons around the the center, where Australian comedian/musician Tim Minchin was attempting to teach host Neil Patrick Harris how to sing some theme songs of Pure Class Wrestling's Superstars. The themes attempted were those of Sadistic's, “The Icemann's”, Non Compos Mentis's, Andy D's, Usali Basilisk, Skylar Marshall's, and Lantlas's. NPH sung each song horribly off-key and without the proper lyrics.
The end of the bit saw none-other-than Phinehas Grimm walk by the studio being used, and asking if they can keep the racket down, for he was trying to read. Tim apologized and said, “take it easy, ginger.” NPH, thinking he could do the say the same, proclaimed, “Not a problem, Ging...” NPH was unable to get his last word out before Grimm nailed him hard into the gut. Grimm then looked at Tim and said, “Only a ginger, can call another ginger, ginger.”
Most Hated
Past winners include: Non Compos Mentis; Jason Willard; Murdoc
The award was presented, in good humor, by Stephanie Meyer. Winning the award, and accepting through satellite, was Justin Michaels. Michaels informed everyone that he was just too busy with other aspects of his life than to be there around most of the miserable PCW Faithful. He thanked LoKi for being a putz, Skylar Marshall for being a smart businessman, Tha UnHoly Alliance for having his back, and Johnny Vivacious for convincing him to come back to the PCW. Justin then signed off by saying that he'll take the Most Hated award in stride, because he understands that jealousy and envy causes lots of people to hate him.
Winner(s): Justin Michaels
Most Loved
Past winners include: Angelica Night-Hunter; Lantlas; Pegasus
The award was presented by former PCW World Champion Pegasus. After reading off the nominees, Pegasus was, “...proud to announce that Nacho Grande is the winner!” After arriving on the stage, Nacho wasn't as jovial as he was earlier in the evening. Nacho thanked everyone for the award, but said that what Tha UnHoly Alliance pulled earlier in the evening was totally unacceptable. He then said that he could not wait until Hostile Takeover, so that he and Kaard can get to Loco and Willard inside the cage. “Loco and Willard will bring the games, but we'll bring the war!”
Winner(s): Nacho Grande
Best Singles Star
Past winners include: Ace Anderson {2x}; Lantlas; Heavy Metal
For the second-consecutive-time, this award was presented by Dee Snider. During the last Icey Awards, Dee made headlines for dropping the award on the ground and declaring that he thought LoKi, who was not even nominated, should have won the award. This time around, he was all smiles, for it was LoKi who was announced as the winner. Dee, and the fans in attendance, clapped and cheered as LoKi, PCW World Championship around his shoulder as he wears a custom-tailored suit, walked up to the stage.
Once on the stage to accept the award, LoKi thanked everyone for voting for him, and declared that he, “...should have won it last time out, but that's in the past. The present is that I am the PCW World Champion, and the best singles wrestler in all of PCW. And because of that, I want to announce that I am the newest member of Team Walker, and I will captain the team to victory over Skylar Marshall, Non Compos Mentis, and the Havoc Thr3e at Hostile Takeover.”
And with that, LoKi raises the PCW Championship and Icey Award high in the air. The feed quickly cuts to Alejandro Walker as LoKi celebrates, and Walker has what can only be called a look of uncertainty on his face. The feed then switches back to LoKi and then...
Winner(s): LoKi
