Live on E! from the Pure Class Arena in Greenville, South Carolina
Kaard Lays In Heavy
Details: 'Survival of the Sickest' is nearly drowned out by the roar of the crowd as the camera pans around the PCW arena. Clips from Return to Glory flash across the screen; Areas defeating seven men in a gauntlet match, MONROE holding the newly won North American title, Whitey Ford standing victorious over Grimm and Usali Basalisk, and of course, Sean Rhodes celebrating his first World Title after seven years. The last image to flash across the screen is a bloody and battered Loki, hanging cruciform from the ring while Justin Kaard offeres a blood spattered chair to a horrified Nacho Grande.
The camera pans finishes its sweep through the audience and finally focuses on the ring, where a somber looking Justin Kaard is waiting. The audience boo's the young man from Seattle, but if the crowds reaction bothers him, he doesn't show it. Looking past the crowd, Justin Kaard smiles and raises a microphone.
"Last night, I had to do something that I'm not particularly proud of. Last night, I had to put down the rabid dog that Loki had become."
The audience boos even louder. Justin lowers the microphone, letting them boo.
"You can boo all you like, but it doesn't change anything. I know it's been the better part of the year and that some of you probably don't remember it, but humor me if you will. I'd like to take you all back to December 23'rd of last year. I'd like to take you back to Hostile Takeover."
Clips from the hellacious war games match play over the Tron, ending with Loki emerging from his cell and forcing Justin Michaels to submit. As three members of the team celebrate, the fourth hangs back before attacking his team; a title shot to the head of Nacho, to the head of Kaard, and to the head of Lantlas.
"Everyone was shocked and appalled when Loki turned his back on PCW. When Loki turned his back on us. Everyone cheered when Lantlas faced him and took his title. Everyone cheered when Nacho stood up to the bully. Everyone forgot about the third man in the match, everyone forgot about me. But neither Lantlas or Nacho was strong enough to do what needed to be done. When it became apparent that Nacho wasn't going to get the job done, I made sure I was in a position to do it. To remind everyone just who I am."
The boos in the audience turn to cheers as 'Hanging Tough' hits and Nacho explodes onto the stage. Justin leans on the ropes, an amused smirk on his face. Nacho breaks into a slow clap before raising a mic of his own.
"Bravo, Justin. Bravo. I'd say you did a pretty bang up job reminding everyone who you are. You reminded them by turning into something just as bad as Loki."
"Just as bad?" Justin asked, "No no, I'm nothing like Loki. Loki turned his back on us, on these people!" He gestures at the audience, "What happened to Loki was exactly what he deserved. And you know what? If that makes me as bad as him, then fine. I'll take that, I'll be the bad guy. But you know I'm right. You know I just did what you never could."
Nacho jabs his finger angrily at the young upstart, "What you did was nearly beat a man to death. There's no honor in that. It's not something the Justin Kaard I know would ever do."
Justin laughs, "The Justin Kaard you knew was a scared little kid."
Nacho can only shake his head, "That isn't true. You weren't, you aren't, afraid of anything. That's why Jake chose you. You were supposed to be the next Heavy Metal. Jake wanted you to succeed him."
"NO," Justin screamed, "he wanted me to be a good little Heavy Metal copy. That's what you all wanted. You, the fans, PCW, no one wanted Justin Kaard. They wanted a replacement Heavy Metal. I respected the hell out of that man. And for a while, I tried to do it. I tried to be Heavy Metal Jr. just like you all wanted."
"Justin, none of us wanted you to be the next Heavy Metal."
Justin cut Nacho off, "Yeah, Nacho, you did. You said it yourself on more than one occasion that I was good but 'I was no Jacob Roth.' And I couldn't live up to that, no one could. And that's why I left. Because I couldn't live up to the expectations of what you and PCW needed me to be. But you know what? As the days stretched into weeks and weeks into months, I realized something very important."
"And what's that, Justin?" Nacho asked.
"I'm not Heavy Metal, and I'm damn proud not to be. You've all placed him on this magical pedestal like he was the greatest thing in the history of ever. But it's all a lie, the man you worship is a lie. Because the truth is simple. Jacob Roth was nothing more than a fucking coward!"
Nacho's mic hits the stage with a thud as the masked Luchador sprints to the ring. He's put up with a lot of things in his career but listening to his best friend being run into the ground will not be one of them. Nacho slides into the ring only to be on the receiving end of a set of vicious stomps from Kaard. But Nacho fights up and the two young men engage in what can only be described as a brawl.
Nacho and Kaard trade stiff punches back, each man rocking back on his heels form the force of the blow, before Nacho tackles Kaard to the ground. The two man roll on the mat, continuing to beat the holy hell from one another before security finally hits the ring and forcibly separates them. Security forces Kaard out of the ring and starts to push him up the ramp. Nacho stands in the ring, begging the security detail to let Justin Kaard go so they can finish what was started.
Realizing that it's not going to happen tonight, Nacho kicks the turnbuckle pad angrily and spits a gob of blood onto the mat. Kaard looks back with a twisted grin, wiping away the dribble of blood from his nostrils.
MATCH ONE
Singles Match
Areas vs. Nacho Grande
Referee: Manny Cruz
Details: Nacho doesn’t seem to be in the best of spirits and it’s definitely showing as he remains in the ring – little interaction with the world around him, and he looks to be rather agitated. Areas makes his way out and takes a moment to heckle some of the Hispanic fans at ringside. Nacho doesn’t wait for Areas to hit the ring, and this match starts on the outside. Rushing to attack Areas, the two fight to the ring before it spills to the inside and the bell rings. The brawling continues, but soon the overly aggressive Nacho gets the advantage forcing the pace of the match. The goofy nature we’ve come to see from him his nowhere to be found, as Nacho continues to unload on Areas in the corner. Backing out of the corner, he hits a snap arm drag for a quick one count.
Areas gets up but he is heavily heaved over into another arm drag that results in another one count. The pace continues until Areas gets a heavy reversal in the form of a stumbling high knee that drops Nacho, and he wastes no time in mounting the man and laying down blows while chanting ‘USA’. Manny Cruz gets to four before pulling Areas off of Nacho. Nacho stumbles to his feet but once again is getting clobbered by blows from Areas, a deadlift german suplex from Areas gets a once count. But instead of letting Nacho up, he transitions to the top and once again starts dropping hammer fists and elbows down upon Nacho. This time at a near five count from the referee Areas stumbles off, arguing with him about his ethnicity and the bias Nacho might receive in the match due to it.
The arguing gives Nacho a chance to not only recuperate but retaliate as well. Sliding on to the apron, Nacho runs along the side and takes to the top rope, as Areas turns around he’s hit with a flying top rope plancha. Rolling off of it, both men get to their feet but Nacho keeps up the pacing. Running, he hits the middle rope and goes for a moonsault but Areas runs forward avoiding the move. Nacho lands, rolls backwards and stands facing a rushing a Areas who he takes over with an arm drag, instantly synching in an armbar in the process. Areas wastes no time in getting to the ropes, and Nacho instantly releases only to stomp away at Areas uncharacteristically and this causes Manny Cruz to steps in; pulling Nacho aside and checking on his mindset.
Areas makes it to his feet with the aid ropes only to meet a charging Nacho, and he’s ready. Stepping forward, he locks both of his arms around Nacho’s waist and flails backwards tossing Nacho up and over the top rope with a belly-to-belly, but Nacho lands on the apron, balancing carefully and quickly turning around to face Areas. Areas steps in to swing wildly, but is caught by Nacho. Jumping up, he catches Areas with a leg scissors and uses it to pull Areas over the ropes and toss him ring side. He wastes no time, quickly jumping to the middle rope and springing backwards for the asai moonsault as the crowd goes wild. Landing across Area’s abdomen, he rolls of and crashes into the ring barrier while the crowd reaches out to pat him.
The referee count continues, as Areas lays unmoving on the ground and Nacho rests upon the barrier. Glimpses of the usual Nacho start to come out, as he does a bit of a jig at ringside as he looks to be stalking areas. As the count nears five, Justin Kaard returns to ringside and instantly locks eyes with Nacho. He wastes no time and running around the ring trying to catch up with Kaard, who rushes up the ramp with Nacho close behind. As Nacho reaches the stage and Kaard vanishes behind the curtain, referee Manny Cruz calls for the bell, and the match is announced a double countout. Nacho looks as though he’s about to absolutely lose it.
Winner: Draw via Double Countout
Wolves at Wolves Throats
Details: Slick Will, the manager of Korey Kill, is backstage biting his nails and pacing the floor. Clearly agitated his eyes continually dart toward a nearby door
Slick Will: Where the hell are you Korey?!
Suddenly the back entrance opens and sure enough Korey Kill is the one walking through with a black duffel-bag. Slick jogs over to him clearly pissed and frustrated.
Slick Will: Playa the show done started and you just getting here?
'The Sick' Korey Kill: Calm down Slick, for Ford's sake he better be glad I even showed, I'm not AWAsshole anymore so I can do what I want.
Slick Will: Whatever playa, let’s go get ready.
This makes Korey smile, disturbingly, and he follows Slick further into the arena.
'The Sick' Korey Kill: Hopefully my own locker room tonight? That would be awesome.
They pass the closed AWAsshole locker-room doors, which Korey gives the finger to as he goes by. Slick rubs the back of his neck nervously once again, less than pleased with his client’s actions… but more-so by the lack of any name plate for his charge.
Slick Will: Well Kor, you been placed in the hallway...
Korey stops dead in his tracks turning his head to look at Slick, he was more pissed that his manager, far more pissed.
The Sick' Korey Kill: Excuse me? Am I some kind of peasant?! I will not be in the hall way with no relaxation before I go show PCW how real men wrestle!
Slick Will: Nothing we can do about it playa.
'The Sick' Korey Kill: Maybe not you Slick, my so called manager, but I can!
Korey walks back to the AWAsshole locker-room and knocks lightly, on the other side he hears someone moving around and then a voice, Whitey Ford's.
Whitey Ford: That better be that kid I sent with 10 bucks to get my beer.
The door opens and Whitey goes from calm to furious. He tries to close the door but Kill stops it with his foot and pushes the door back bum rushing past Whitey who just watches behind an angry face.
'The Sick' Korey Kill: Why so gloomy Ford? I am not your beer boy but I am your tag-team partner, thankfully just for the night"
Whitey Ford: Korey you are about 3 seconds away from me kicking that douchebag ass right now.
Korey just looks at Whitey with a sarcastic shocked look.
'The Sick' Korey Kill: Why so hostile Ford? You may have kicked me from AWAssholes, which doesn't bother me, but to threaten the man who is going to carry your sorry ass tonight...tsk tsk.
Whitey walks right up to Korey snatching his bag from his hand tossing it out of the locker room! Korey steps right up to Whitey but Slick fights his way between them.
Slick Will: Hey playas save it for the ring, nah screw that. save it for Grimm and Rhodes!
Neither man moves and they keep their angry gazes focused on the other, finally Korey steps back, adjusting his black t-shirt.
Whitey Ford: Yeah now leave, both of you, before Korey ends up missing for tonights tag-team match"
'The Sick' Korey Kill: I'll leave but tonight if you stoop to your white trash ways, even if you hint you are going to f**k me over, so help me God it will be hell and high water before I let you forget who you f**ked over"
Whitey Ford: Blah, blah, blah Korey. For now you have my word, prick, just get out of here.
After a tense moment Korey breaks eye contact and leaves with Slick on his heels.
MATCH TWO
Tag Team Match
Darren Hughes & Andy D vs. 2Men (Jules Martins & High Tide)
Referee: AJ Bennett
Details: Andy D hits the stage and the crowd goes wild, there’s a spring in his step but it’s obvious he’s still feeling his match at Return To Glory. He takes a few moments with the fans at ring side before hitting the ring, but before he can finish his entrance his tag team partner makes his way out. Darren Hughes walks on to the stage and down the ramp with little to no interaction with the fans, and really doesn’t seem to pay much attention to his partner either. He does take a moment to do the finger gun salute to the camera, but settles into the ring quickly; not asking if Andy D wants to start things out. Jules and High Tide come out together, billed as ‘2Men’, and we see a cut to that of Andy D waiting on the outside of the ring not looking exceptionally pleased about this.
They make their way to the ring as a cohesive unit, and upon reaching the ring High Tide is in the match first. The bell rings, and the two men instantly lockup and High Tide has the early advantage. It doesn’t last long, as he works Darren into the corner after a series of exchanges and the double teaming starts. AJ Bennett acknowledges the tag, as Wasp holds him against the ropes while High Tide stomps away. After a moment, he takes him over in a snapmare and Wasp flys over the top rope and hits a necksnap for a quick one count. Darren fights back, giving way to some offense of his own only to be taken down with a quick Snap DDT for another one count. Andy D looks ramped and ready to go, as he watches from the corner.
The crowd is cheering for Andy D, but they’re forced to watch Darren Hughes continue to succumb to the well-oiled team work of ‘2MEN’. In a span of a minute, the two tag in and out three times. Each time taking it to Darren, who seems frustrated with the situation as a whole. Being thrown into the ropes by both men, on the rebound he catches the ropes and watches as both men miss their tandem dropkick. Diving to the side, he catches Andy D’s hands and the fans go nuts. Rushing into the ring, he levels both men with a dropkick of his own, planting a foot on both men’s chests. High Tide remains in the ring, being the legal man, and gets taken to task by Andy D. Throwing High Tide off the ropes, he catches him on the rebound with a back body drop.
Hitting the ropes, he comes off of them lightning fast and drops an elbow across High Tide’s chest for a quick one. High Tide stumbles to his feet, and Andy D hits the ropes again. Off the rebound, he catches High Tide with a bulldog, the impact flopping High Tide on to his back. Seeing his chance, Andy D rushes to the ropes and jumps off of the middle rope into a springboard moonsault for the two count. While the crowd cheers Andy D on, Darren seems rather disinterested in the match as a whole – playing the air guitar on the apron while ignoring the action in the ring as a whole. High Tide and Andy D exchange on their feet, and reversal from High Tide sends Andy D into the corner and the tag is made, but within full view of the referee High Tide and Jules tag once more; High Tide STILL being the legal man.
Going for a double suplex lift on Andy D, their plan comes to a halt as he drops both of his knees down into the pairs skulls. Rolling over, he lands on his feet and rushes on the ropes, and on the rebound he hits the Shining Wizard on Wasp! He goes for the pin, but the referee doesn’t count it. Pointing out that High Tide is the legal man! Standing behind Andy D, he waits and when he goes for the Half Mast! Running off the turnbuckle he goes for the Dropkick but Andy D rolls out of the ring. The fans sense it coming, it’s time for the Dragon’s bite again but Darren Hughes leans forward and tags himself in. Andy D and the crowd as a whole seem confused as Darren Hughes rushes in and misses a clothesline on High Tide!
High Tide stumbles forward, shoving Andy D off of the apron and turning around to stumble under another clothesline from Darren Hughes and catch him in a schoolboy! The ref counts to three, and Andy D looks on in disbelief as ‘2MEN’ regroup outside of the ring, and Darren Hughes sits on his knees in the center of the ring.
Winners: High Tide and Jule Martins via Pinfall
Is There An AWAsshole In You?
Details: Following the match, Andy stares down at his beaten partner and shakes his head, clearly displeased with the manner in which he tagged in before the end. Leaving Hughes in the middle of the ring, Andy hops off the apron and begins to walk up the ramp with the cheers of the crowd following him. As he nears the top of the ramp, however, the cheers turn to boos when a figure emerges from the back.
Completely unannounced, Whitey Ford strides out and makes a beeline for the ring, only to stall in his path when his eyes meet those of Andy. Both men stare at each other for a moment but Ford cracks a smile, telling the former North American Champion that his fight is not with him. Going their separate ways, Whitey heads to the ring again with the jeers of the PCW Faithful raining down on him. Finally he climbs onto the apron as Darren Hughes looks up from the mat and spots him.
Hughes spins around quickly, his reflexes still intact after the loss, and gets to a defensive stance before Whitey enters through the ropes. Neither man makes any sudden movements, though Ford can be seen giving some kind of speech to his target. Hughes isn’t convinced by anything as he looks around for a potential attack, but nothing comes. Instead, Ford slowly but surely extends a hand.
The crowd boo wildly, not accepting this new found token of respect and agreement from the notorious Ford. Seconds pass as Hughes simply stares at the hand with first confusion and then deep thought. After a long pause, Hughes backs off toward the ropes and receives a cheer from the fans, although his reaction is far more divided than they may have expected. As Hughes climbs out of the ring and moves toward the back, Ford silently nods his head in understanding. The cameras move from the ring to the backstage area.
Can I have a Word….
Details: (The camera fades backstage where Kassandra Black is standing by with El Musculo. She is standing next to him, and he is sitting down on a bench in the community lockeroom backstage. He is wrapping his wrists with medical tape. El Musculo puts the tape up to his mask to bite the tape, then realizes his mistake and shakes his head. He then uses his other hand to cut the tape off and push it down onto his wrist. He then sets the tape down on the bench and stands up next to Kassandra.)
Kassandra: "I'm back stage with PCW's newest Lucha Libre sensation El Musculo. El Musculo, we haven't met before now, so let me welcome you to PCW."
El Musculo: "Well thank you Kassandra, I must say you are much more beautiful in person."
Kassandra: "You are too kind El Musculo. I have a few questions for you that are on the minds of the PCW fans out there."
El Musculo: "Oh yeah? Sounds interesting. How's this gonna work?"
Kassandra: "Well earlier this week we asked PCW fans to submit their questions for you via twitter with the hashtag PCWMuscle."
El Musculo: "Ok, well let's get to is shall we?"
Kassandra: "First question is from NonComposMatthew, he asks 'How do you train for the wrong type of PPV match?'"
El Musculo: "Wow, starting off pretty rough with the questions eh Kassandra? Well I really can't explain it. I was told by a stagehand backstage at Trauma 117 that I had been added to the Battle Royale match at Return to Glory. The honest truth is that I never checked the card again after that to make sure that it…"
(Kassandra puts her finger to her ear piece and puts her finger up for El Musculo to hold on.)
Kassandra: "Looks like we have to cut this short El Musculo, it appears Kenjin is attacking Areas in the parking lot right now! We have to get there!"
(Kassandra and her cameraman pack things up real fast and start to head out of the locker room. Kassandra then puts her hand to her ear again.)
Kassandra: "Looks like it was a false alarm. Sorry about that El Musculo. So you didn't do your homework before the match, trusting a stagehand can be a very slippery road."
El Musculo: "I know that now, believe me. That embarrassment I can ill afford again."
Kassandra: "Our next question comes from PlayaPeggie, she asks 'Seems after two matches, you are off to a shaky start. Do you have any fear that you made a mistake coming to PCW?'"
El Musculo: "This is where I wanted to be Peggie. This is where my past roads have led to. I'm here to compete. A few bumps in the road will happen regardless if I was 18 or 40. I'm only 29, I have a bright future ahead of me, and tonight I'll set things on the right path. You can be sure…"
(Kassandra once again interrupts El Musculo putting her hand to her ear. She then lifts her index finger into the air and spins it around, the international signal for wrap it up.)
Kassandra: "It appears Monroe has renamed the North American Championship the Saudi Arabian Peninsula Championship and is putting on a press conference right now outside his lockeroom."
(Kassandra and the cameraman do the same thing they did earlier only to turn around once again and head back to El Musculo. If he wasn't wearing a mask, you would be able to see the look of disbelief on his face. Kassandra sets herself back up while the cameraman drops his camera back down.)
Kassandra: "Well this is embarrassing, we must be getting some interference in the headset. Let's continue."
El Musculo: "No problem Kassandra, I'll be here all night."
Kassandra: "The next question was submitted by AlLameMan, he asks 'There was quite an excitement when everyone thought you were haunting Loki, and plans for some big fueds going forward?'"
El Musculo: "Everyone was just as surprised as I was when Justin Kaard came out dressed as me. I was pleasantly surprised at the reaction of the fans when they saw me. It was nice to know that I've made a bit of an impact in my first few weeks here in PCW with the fans. I hope to continue fighting well, since it's all I know. Hopefully along the way I'm able to get some great matches in and entertain the fans the way…"
(Kassandra puts her hand to her ear one last time and puts her finger up for El Musculo to stop talking again. She shakes her head and looks over at the cameraman who automatically starts putting the camera up.)
Kassandra: "I'm sorry to do this to you again El Musculo, but it looks like Machine is singing Karaoke in the cafeteria. We HAVE to get this on camera."
(Kassandra turns to leave, but as she starts turning again El Musculo lightly grabs her arm and uses his other hand to pull the microphone out of her hand. He then puts it up to his mask.)
El Musculo: "I know you have more important people to attend to, so I'll make this fast Kassandra. I'm going to get a complete thought out if it kills me. Tonight me and Crazy Boy are fighting Pegasus and Murdoc, it will be a must see match. I guarantee it. I will be fighting my heart out. Yes, I know it's a tag team rules match, I won't make that mistake this week. Everybody keep your eyes out. This will be a match of the night candidate. I'll continue to impress and show the fans what great wrestling looks like. If PCW doesn't have any tv time for me besides filler, I'll take it and do everything I can with it. See you all again later tonight."
(El Musculo hands the microphone back to Kassandra. He nods politely at her. She turns quickly and heads out of the room with the camera man. Before they can get out the door frame she puts her hand to her ear and droops her shoulders in disappointment. They then continue through the doorframe and leave the locker room. The camera then fades back to the commentary table.)
MATCH THREE
Singles Match
"The Adrenaline King" Justin Kaard vs. "Puro Power!" Kaijin Shinryu
Referee: Marcos Cruz
Details: Making his first official entrance in several months, Justin Kaard walks out to a mixed reaction. Those that remember his days alongside Nacho as a Tag Team Champion cheer, but others that saw his ominous actions against LoKi two weeks ago are far less supportive. He makes his way to the ring and prepares for his opponent, the stocky Japanese wrestler known as Puro Power! Shinryu makes his way down the ramp with typical focus, attracting more cheer than his rival.
As both men finally find themselves in the ring, Marcos Cruz calls for the bell. The two men circle but Kaard uses his speed to quickly move into a Rear Waist Lock. It doesn’t last long though as Kaijin hits an elbow and hooks in a Side Headlock. Pushing out, Kaards sends Puro Power into the ropes but receives a shoulder block, knocking him into the mat. Shinryu drops quickly with an elbow that Kaard rolls away from instinctively.
Both men climb but Kaard is the faster, hitting the ropes and nailing a trio of flying forearms. Shinryu tries to recover, throwing a wild Lariat at his opponents’ head. Kaard manages to prevent decapitation by rolling forward, jumping back to his feet and throwing himself backwards with a spectacular Backflip Pele Kick to the head. Before he can recover, Shinryu receives a high Leg Lariat that sends him to the mat, with Kaard landing in a pinning position.
Shinryu kicks out at two and fights back to his feet where he receives a quick-fire combo of forearms from Kaard who turns and hits the ropes again. On the rebound he attempts a running Hurricanrana, but Kaijin grabs his legs in mid-air and drives him down with a vicious Powerbomb. Dragging the crumpled Kaard back to his feet, Puro throws a volley of chops at his chest and pushes him back to the ropes. Puro whips his opponent across the ring and on the rebound hits a Scoop Style Powerslam, pinning for a two.
Lifting The Adrenaline King back to his feet, Shinryu grips him around the throat, setting up for a Chokeslam. Desperately the smaller man kicks out, connecting with the midsection twice and releasing the grip. Set free he quickly turns and jumps onto the middle rope, springing backwards with an agile Roundhouse Kick… but not connecting as Shinryu drops to avoid the blow. Kaard turns but walks straight into a bludgeoning Lariato, dropping him to the mat.
Hauling the downed spot monkey off the mat, the Japanese man lifts him onto his shoulders in an inverted position and drives him down with a devastating Burning Hammer. The count is made, One… Two…. THR…NO! Kaard’s shoulder makes it off the mat at the last moment but Shinryu isn’t finished. He brings Kaard back to his feet once again and whips him across the ring, following him by rushing at the corner. Kaijin prepares an Avalanche but is cut short when Kaard uses his phenomenal agility and runs up the turnbuckles, flipping back over the head of the Puroresu Aficionado.
The crowd gasps, but Kaard wastes no time in landing a basement dropkick to the knee of the bemused attacker. With Shinryu down, Kaard climbs back to his feet and lands a lashing Projectile Hurricanrana. As Shinryu tries to recover, Kaard signals for the end and begins to scout his opponent for the Rollback Driver. As he does the crowd erupts with cheers, confusing Kaard until he sees the reason.
Diving down the ramp is Nacho Grande, his cape trailing behind him like a comets tail. Kaard has barely a second to react as Nacho hits the ring bundles over the recovering Shinryu who happens to be in his path. Past the obstacle he sets his sights on Kaard and begins throwing punches in a blind rage. The referee has no choice to call for the bell and announces it a double disqualification.
Winner: Draw via Double Disqualification
Diversion
Details: Nacho continues his assault on Kaard, furiously flailing his arms as if possessed by an angry spirit. The fans have no idea what to make of the attack as the referee tries to interject himself in the situation. Nacho pays him no mind and continues while Kaard tries to fight back with blows of his own.
Finally Nacho lands a Dropkick that sends Kaard to the mat but he is stopped from administering more punishment by Kaijin Shinryu who jumps up and pushes himself between the two. Still trying to get through, Nacho is shoved backwards by Puro and told to back off. It’s clear to everyone that Kaijin is acting to help his friend but Nacho is too fixed on his aim and once again grabs Shinryu, throwing him out of the way.
With nothing in the way, Nacho throws a boot into the gut of Kaard and tries to follow it up with another when he is gripped from the back and hauled into the middle of the ring. Turning with an angry, instinctive elbow to the temple, Nacho connects hard with Shunryu’s head and the Japanese star has no choice but to retaliate. He tackles Nacho to the mat and both men begin to throw punches wildly… and assault not unnoticed by the forgotten man in the corner.
Kaard quickly takes this opening to roll from the ring and make his way up the ramp. He is nearly half way to the back before anybody notices that he’s gone missing. Finally when a chorus of boos begins to emerge from the confused chaos, Justin begins to laugh at the insanity, made worse by the flood of security personnel darting past him toward the ring. As they hit the ring, the show fades out to another commercial break.
The Showtime Classic
Details: (When Trauma returns, “Gold on the Ceiling” by the Black Keys begins to blare over the P.A. system. The arena goes dark and a single spotlight illuminates the entrance way, revealing none other than “Mr. Showtime” Michael Wryght. In the finest of threads he slowly makes his way down the ramp way, making sure to stop for a few autograph signings on the way. He slowly walks up the ring steps, wipes his shoes and steps between the ropes.
From each corner he poses to the crowd, playing up to their cheers. Once all four posts have been visited he leans over towards the announcer’s table and asks for a microphone. He slowly raises the mic to mouth, gives the crowd his patented cocky half smile, and begins.)
Michael Wryght: Hellllloooooooo Pure Class Wrestling!!!
(The fans erupt and Showtime clearly loves every minute of it.)
Michael Wryght: Thank you. Thank you. You are too kind. As you all know, tonight is a very big night for me. This is the very night that I make my return to the squared circle. I finally get to come out here and wrestle in front of the best fans in the world, and for that I thank you.
(And cheap pop is received and Showtime pauses from them again.)
Michael Wryght: Tonight I get to find out if I have the medal to stand toe to toe with a legend in the business and one of our rising stars. But I digress, for that is not the reason I am out here tonight. I am out here, for all of you.
(Mr. Showtime reaches into his Armani suit breast pocket and retrieves a stack of white envelopes. With a pause he looks around at the audience and thoughtfully pats the letters on his open palm.)
Michael Wryght: Do you see these? These are from fans just like you. Letters have been pouring in and to be honest I am a huge sucker for you people. First you asked for House Shows and I gave you House Shows. Next you asked for Hardcore and I gave you Hardcore. Now...Now I give you the reinstated TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!
(The fans erupt at the news and Showtime takes a few steps back like the cheers almost took him off his feet. He throws the letters in the air and smiles at the crowd. A crew man from ring side hands Showtime a felt bag and from it Wryght pulls out the two title belts and drapes them over his shoulders.)
Michael Wryght: You see I understand how you feel. I’ve always been partial to tag team wrestling and I’m a former tag team champion. That is why it was my idea to put together Tag Team Appreciation Night. And from what I’ve seen, you all seem to be thoroughly enjoying it. Now don’t get too excited since Tag Team Appreciation Night is the beginning of something real special. Tonight is the inauguration of the “Mr. Showtime Tag Team Classic.” What is the “Mr. Showtime Tag Team Classic” you ask?
(Showtime puts his hand up to his ear as if really listening to them ask the question.)
Michael Wryght: Well I will tell you. Every tag team that is competing here tonight is now entered into my tournament for a chance to wrestle at the next pay-per-view for the Tag Team Titles. Every team that is, except the main event. In the coming weeks each of the six teams will have a chance to wrestle each other. Once each team has faced off against the other five, the two teams with the best record will square off again one another for the Pure Class Wrestling Tag Team Titles.
(The fans go crazy at the announcement and Showtime just lets them.)
Michael Wryght: Mr. Showtime is a man of the people and once again this is for you!
(Showtime drops the microphone then holds the two belts and displays them for the crowd. “Gold on the Ceiling” by the Black Keys once again beings to blare over the P.A. system. He hands the belts off to the man at ring side and makes his way up the ramp way and into the backstage area leaving the PCW faithful in a frenzy.)
MATCH FOUR
Mystery Opponents Tag Team Match
Usali Basilisk & Machine vs. "The Horn Dog" Nick Soapdish & "The Nomad" Donny J. McNasty
Referee: Steve Shaw
Details: Usali and the giant German Machine make their ways to the ring first, Machine looking back to his normal, automaton self while Usali is decidedly pumped up and ready for the contest. The same can be said of the opposing duo who make their way to the ring shortly after, although accompanying them is a tinge of madness and unpredictability. As both teams end up in the ring, Steve Shaw calls for the bell and the legal men sort themselves out; Machine taking the order to begin from his colleague and Soapdish assuming command himself. As McNasty climbs to the apron his companion makes a sudden and near fatal error, running straight at the massive European.
Machine stands firm as Soapdish bounces off him with a Clothesline attempts. Two more are simply swatted away and Machine blocks a fourth by lifting him into the air in a Gorilla Press and throwing him down with minimal effort. Having fallen over seven feet, Soapdish is winded but not nearly as winded as when Machine places a boot on his chest and walks over him to tag out to Usali Basilisk. Basilisk jumps into the ring and sets upon Soapdish with a variety of boots before he finally manages to get to his feet. Not wasting any time, Usali hits the ropes and rebounds with a flying headscissor attempt, pulling Soapdish to the ground and locking in a submission.
Donny paces the apron and Soapdish fades but eventually reaches the ropes with his foot. Pulling Nick to his feet, Basilisk whips him into the ropes and hits an armdrag closely followed by a jumping leg drop across the throat. He pins for a two and tags back out to Machine. The Bavarian Behemoth climbs over the top rope and yanks Soapdish up with one hand. With the other, free hand, Machine clobbers him over the head three times and throws him into the corner like a lawn dart before tagging out again.
Getting back into the ring, Usali lands a series of stomps and kicks to the cornered opponent, climaxing with a Tornado DDT and a pin for a near fall. Usali gets to his feet quickly and waits for Soapdish to recover before hitting the ropes and rebounding with a High Leg Clothesline. Somehow, in a complete daze, Soapdish ducks and dives for his corner just as Usali does the same.
And impetuous McNasty jumps into the ring and begins to rush into the opposing corner, only to find himself facing the massive German. With barely a hesitation he begins to hammer away with a salvo of punches and brutal strikes, only succeeding in knocking Machine backward into his own corner. With Usali on the apron the scene seems to get too crowded for Donny who responds with a vicious headbutt, knocking Usali from the apron but bloodying McNasty in the process.
Getting nowhere with his attacks, the reddened McNasty hits the ropes and Machine steps forward. Putting all his weight into his attack, The Nomad launches himself forward with a huge Clothesline From Hell… and Machine merely stumbles back a pace. Shocked at the unmoving Machine, McNasty hits another with barely any effect again! Even through the cheering crowd, an audible call can be heard from Donny…. “F**k this!”
As Jerry Andrews apologises to the fans, McNasty climbs to the outside and grabs a chair from ringside, the madness welling up inside him. Climbing into the ring again, McNasty takes aim and rushes toward an unmoving Machine. Slamming the chair over the head of his gigantic opponent, McNasty drops Machine briefly to a knee and the referee calls for the bell.
Machine almost immediately climbs to his feet and reaches out toward the neck of McNasty, but the hardcore Nomad has no intention of being Goozled and bails from the ring, allowing Usali and Machine to have their victory.
Winners: Usali Basilisk and Machine via Disqualification
’Murrica Championship
Details: The camera moves to the backstage area to find MONROE closeted off in his locker room watching the Rhodes vs Lantlas match from Return to Glory. The North American Championship title can be seen clumped up in a corner with little care given to it.
Areas:I don’t think you need to worry about them, boy…
The camera pans to find none other than Areas filling the doorway with his mass, and MONROE seems to give him very little mind as he continues to watch the tape. Areas walks into the locker room, approaching MONROE with very little regard as he once again speaks.
Areas: Are you even American? Do you even understand English? Ah hell, how’a about I show you what you need to worry about…
MONROE shows little emotion, standing up and reaching for his title belt while walking directly into Areas. Neither of the men seem poised to move, as MONROE tosses the belt between them and looks Areas directly in the eye. Before anything can happen the room is flooded by the PCW security force and several staffers as they pull apart the two men before anything can happen. Areas is sporting a rather wild grin, while MONROE looks at Areas with a lack of emotion.
Areas: Are you even ‘Murrican!!!
Areas shouts one more time as the staff pull him toward the door, but MONROE barely reacts and focuses more on simply keeping hold of his title in amongst the throng of security. Finally the cameras move back to the ring for the next match.
MATCH FIVE
Tag Team Match
Murdoc & Pegasus vs. El Musculo & Tyrone "Crazy Boy" Smith
Referee: Joseph Buckland
Details: "All I Need" fills the arena and Pegasus bursts out from the back. He quickly throws one arm up into the air with his index finger extended. He holds the pose for a second before slowly working his way down the ramp. He eagerly hops from side to side, giving "high-fives" to the fans extended hands as they cheer him on. He slides under the ropes upon reaching the ring and approaches one of the turnbuckles which he quickly hops onto. Another arm pointing straight up as he smiles out over the crowd, and afterwards he turns and perches himself upon the top rope awaiting his opponent.
The song 'Fiend' by Coal Chamber begins.
The long, guttural growl prompts a ring of fire to burst to life on the main stage.
It's the darkest place, underneath the stairs
The "IT" it comes and it takes me there
As if right on cue, from underneath the edge of said flames, Murdoc begins to ascend. Still. Unwavering. Resolute. At least until he has reached the top, at which point he begins his slow walk towards the ring. The edge of the hood hanging over his face, he walks steadily towards the ring.
Standing at ringside for a brief moment, he turns the ring steps and begins to ascend them. Wiping his feet on the apron, he steps through the ropes and enters. Turning to his immediate left, he goes to one of the far corners, disrobes and begins stretching out in anticipation for the next competitor.
Simple ... and to the point.
El Musculo and Tyrone “Crazy Boy” Smith come down to the ring together. They don’t have entrance music yet, so they walk down to the ring to the cheers of the fans. They slide into the ring and go into their corner.
Pegasus wants to talk strategy with Murdoc, but Murdoc isn’t having any of it. He goes to his corner, encouraging his partner to start the match. El Musculo starts the match for his team. Official Joseph Buckland calls for the bell.
Fans are clearly behind Pegasus…since they’re chanting his name. There is a smile on his face, glad to be back in PCW. They lock up in the middle of the ring, El Musculo pulls Pegasus in for a side headlock, but Pegasus pulls out. Being an inch shorter than his opponent, he is heavier and slightly larger. They lock up in the middle of the ring again, this time Pegasus gets El Musculo in a side headlock, and then takes him over. Meanwhile, Murdoc hops off the apron, sits at the commentary table. He doesn’t pick up the headset to call the match. Instead, he finds a pad of paper and a pen and starts to take notes. Jerry Andrews and Al Laiman don’t know what to make of this, so they ask Murdoc why he’s taking notes. His response: silence.
Pegasus finally gets the upper hand over El Musculo and goes to tag in his partner. He finds his partner at the table taking notes. He’s yelling at Murdoc, telling him to get back in their corner, but nothing doing. El Musculo sneaks up on Pegasus and goes for the rollup: Only a two count.
Pegasus kicks out. Both men are on their feet immediately, but it’s Pegasus who reacts first with a powerful Clothesline, displaying great power. Meanwhile, Pegasus runs to the ropes, jumps onto the top rope, springboards, and does a Moon Sault that misses El Musculo! The masked Luchador rolls out of the way and tags in Crazy Boy. Tyrone Smith, former North American Champion, stalks Pegasus. Smith kicks Pegasus in the gut, doubling him over, and goes for a Scissor’s Kick, but Pegasus gets out of the way. When Crazy Boy lands on his feet, Pegasus lifts him sky high, hitting Guiding Light! The fans explode with cheers as he goes for the cover, only getting a two count
El Musculo comes in the break up the count. At the commentary desk, Andrews and Laiman continue to do their jobs while Murdoc, who hasn’t done a damn thing in the ring, continues to take notes. Joseph Buckland gets El Musculo out of the ring, giving him a verbal warning about his interference.
Pegasus wants to end this match. He’s going to go for his Shooting Star Press—the Leap of Faith. As he climbs the corner perpendicular to his opponent, but Tyrone “Crazy Boy” Smith rolls away and tags in El Musculo! He rushes toward Pegasus, but Pegasus doesn’t have time to defend himself. El Musculo jumps onto the top turnbuckle, goes for a Hurracanrana, but Pegasus counters with a devastating Sit-out Power Bomb from the top turnbuckle! The fans chant “HOLY SHIT!”
Pegasus feebly rolls on top of El Musculo. ALMOST A NEAR FALL! El Musculo gets the shoulder up right before three. Pegasus doesn’t believe it. After such a devastating maneuver, El Musculo kicks out.
Pegasus pulls El Musculo to his feet, going for another move, but El Musculo kicks him the gut, doubles him over, but locks in a three-quarter nelson. Instead of using the corner for assistance—since he’s nowhere near a corner—he jumps backward and hits Pan Tostado! El Musculo gets the three count.
Winners: El Musculo and Tyrone Smith via Pinfall
The Odd Couple
Details: (The scene opens up in the backstage area in front of “Mr. Showtime” Michael Wryght’s office/dressing room door, marked with his name in a giant star. The door slowly opens and emerging from the plush quarters steps none other than Mr. Showtime himself. He is dressed in his ring gear and is ready to seriously step back into the ring for the first time in many moons. He adjusts his robe to make it lay straight on his shoulders and turns to make his way to the entrance ramp.
As Mr. Showtime turns the corner he almost barrels into an unseen man. Showtime fixes his designer sunglasses to see his mortal enemy Phinehas Grimm. Grimm has a look on his face that could curdle milk, but Showtime shoots him his trademark cocky half smile.)
Michael Wryght: Phinehas, what a surprise.
Phinehas Grimm: What was that all about at the Pay-Per-View?
Michael Wryght: What? Did you have a problem with young Donald blowing up my limo? I didn’t really mind, but the insurance company was pissed.
Phinehas Grimm: You know that isn’t what I am talking about.
Michael Wryght: Well if it’s not that, then you have me at a loss, whatever could you be talking about.
(You can see Grimm begin to grind his teeth in frustration, knowing perfectly well Showtime is just toying with him.)
Phinehas Grimm: You know I don’t owe you anything, right?
Michael Wryght: Owe me for what Phinehas?
Phinehas Grimm: Were you just protecting your investment?
Michael Wryght: Protecting my investment? That’s awful. Listen, Phinehas, you needed help and I came to the rescue.
Phinehas Grimm: Why?
Michael Wryght: To be honest, beating down the mighty Phinehas Grimm is my job, not a bunch of rejects from a defunct federation. Now if you’ll excuse me, my adoring fans are awaiting me.
(Showtime steps past Grimm neither man turning around to take a second glance at the other. Without even turning his head Grimm continues.)
Phinehas Grimm: Hey Pest, those AWA guys like to stick their nose in each other’s business.
Michael Wryght: So?
Phinehas Grimm: If they do that tonight I won’t be far behind.
Michael Wryght: Thanks but I’m a big boy and can take care of myself.
(Expecting a wise comment Grimm begins to storm off leaving his rival behind.)
Michael Wryght: Hey Arkham!
(Grimm stops dead in his tracks and slowly turns back. With a very serious look on his face Showtime continues.)
Michael Wryght: Thanks.
(With a nod both men make their way from the hall and vanish around different corners.)
MATCH SIX
Non-Title Triple Threat Match
MONROE (North American ©) vs. "Mr. Showtime" Michael Wryght vs. Lantlas
Referee: Richard Stevens
Details: The first man to come out to a less than positive reaction is the new North American Champion, MONROE. As he makes his way down, dragging his newly acquired belt in toe, to the ring the boos are deafening but he pays them no mind whatsoever. Climbing into the ring he pays more attention to the timekeeper, telling him to mind his belt… or else! Second out is the former World Champion, the Warrior Elf, Lantlas. As he makes his entrance the crowd cheer him on wildly though it is clear he is still recovering from the punishment taken to his shoulder. He climbs into the ring only to be interrupted by the new Minority Shareholder of PCW, ‘Showtime’ Michael Wryght.
Wryght makes it more than obvious that he wants the spotlight only on him as he takes his time getting to the ring. But once he gets inside, all hell breaks loose. Wanting to prove himself after his loss at the pay per view, Lantlas unloads a volley of blows on Showtime, forcing him into the corner while Referee Stevens calls for the opening bell. Monroe hangs back as Lantlas continues with his myriad strikes, plastering Wryght into the turnbuckles before backing off and setting up for another attack. As he does, Monroe takes his opportunity, slamming a blow into the back and shoulder of the Elven competitor. With Lantlas stunned, Monroe lifts him up and drops him with a basic mat slam.
Without hesitation, Monroe goes straight for the arm, locking in a Fujiwara Armbar. Lantlas reaches for the ropes and manages to get there in good time, but Monroe attacks with a collection of stomps to the injured arm. As Showtime recovers in the corner, he considers attacking Monroe but instead the two of them join forces and drag Lantlas to his feet. The reluctant partners cooperate with Monroe locking in a Hammerlock and Showtime landing several punches and kicks. As Monroe releases the Elven Warrior, he hauls him into the air and drives him down with a Backdrop.
The duo lands another series of stomps before Showtime turns to play to the crowd, lifting his arm up in faux victory. Monroe looks on and shakes his head, then takes the chance to pin… only reaching two before Wryght realises his mistake and kicks Monroe in the head. Pulling Monroe to his feet, Showtime lands a couple of European Uppercuts and whips him into the ropes. Ducking his head, Showtime moves too soon and receives a boot to the face. As Showtime is stunned, Monroe locks him up and hits the Pumphandle Gutbuster!
Monroe pins for a two count before Lantlas dives in to make the save. Both Lantlas and Monroe get to their feet and attack with a back and forth of punches and vicious kicks. Finally Lantlas gets the upper hand with a Solebutt to the gut and hits the ropes. On the rebound Monroe rushes forward with a clothesline that Lantlas ducks, running straight into a clothesline of his own on a recovering Wryght. He turns again and hits a high Roundhouse Kick to the head of Monroe before driving him down with a Written Word.
One… Two… TH… NO! Monroe gets his shoulder up just in time and rolls evasively to the apron while Lantlas and Showtime recover in the middle of the ring. As both get to their feet they exchange blows but Lantlas is too powerful and forces his opponent to the ropes. Whipping him across the ring, Lantlas drives him down with a Tilt A Whirl Backbreaker. A lateral press gets a two count and Lantlas goes straight back on the offensive, lifting him up in a Bodyslam position. As he attempts to set up for the ‘This Moment Is Eternity’ Showtime reverses and transitions into a Fisherman’s Suplex attempt.
Showtime tries to lift Lantlas into the air but fails. He lifts for a second time and this time succeeds in hauling him all the way up. Dangling in mid-air, Lantlas drives a knee down into the head of his opponent and uses the weakness to roll through, landing on his feet. Just as he tries to recover, Lantlas looks up to find Monroe waiting for him with bulging cheeks.
Monroe spews forth a noxious cloud of Asian mist but Lantlas spots it early and ducks, sending the cloud straight into the face of the turning Wryght. Wryght recoils in agony as Monroe realises his error. As he attempts to refocus on Lantlas he takes a sudden kick to the head and falls to the outside of the ring. Turning to the blinded Showtime, Lantlas nails a boot to the gut, hauls him up and drops him with a devastating Elvish Tale. The crowd goes wild as the Warrior Elf begins to scout Showtime to the Flame Of The West, watching as Wryght climbs from the mat bit by bit.
Finally he gets to a knee and Lantlas closes in…. but Monroe dives into the ring and blindsides the former World Champion, throwing him over the top rope to the outside. With Lantlas out of the ring, Monroe immediately sets upon Showtime and locks in his Nemesis Gate III submission. Showtime holds out for moment but decides it’s better to live to fight another day than get injured here, and taps out.
Winner: Monroe via Submission
The Seven Year Itch… Scratched
Details: Following the match, a video sequence plays. The PCW production team have pulled out all the stops, first displaying the much forgotten image of a ‘fresh’ competitor in a PCW ring some seven years ago. That figure is Non Compos Mentis, straight from humble origins and fighting like a lunatic. The package passes through the key moments of his PCW career, first his inaugural reign as North American Champion and two more to follow, holding the Tag Team Titles alongside Ace Anderson and defeating Al Laiman in PCW’s first Hardcore Hell match.
After these events, the video package picks up with three of his least favourable moments inside a PCW ring. Losing his first trio of World Championship matches to the likes of LoKi, Ace Anderson and Grimm. After the sadness lifts, the scene is set for a brutal blow-by-blow account of the main event of Return To Glory. Both Lantlas and Rhodes give their all but in the end only one man is victorious.
Sean Rhodes lifts the PCW World Title for the first time in seven long years, his name etched in the history books forever. The package finishes with the lingering, confetti-filled image of the new champion on the edge of tears, holding the belt aloft for all the PCW Faithful to see.
