Lex is token, though still a great villain. But Mephisto is so damn cool and evil.

I'm going to say this too- Lex Luthor is only really a threat if you're Superman. He, like Doom, is overrated.

Yeah being the arch-nemesis of one of the most iconic heroes of all-time makes you iconic by design. There are enough 'genius-level intellects' among villains that it's not really all that impressive, even though Lex sure is super smart. I like that he's not super-powered, though.
I just watched Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths and find it cool that Lex is the leader of the Justice League in a parallel universe. Oh, and The Joker is 'The Jester' and Harley is a monkey.

I'm going to say this too- Lex Luthor is only really a threat if you're Superman. He, like Doom, is overrated. *watches MONROE die* Are we talking about the same Lex Luthor who was President of the United States? Who has been a villain, at some point, in almost every major series DC has and the main villain in several of the companies biggest arcs? Lex Luthor is one of the biggest villains in DC comics, even outside of Superman. You speak nonsense.
