Singles Match
Dillon "The Legacy" Durst vs Anson
Referee: Austin Shaw
The first match of the night is due to begin and the PCW Faithful are already in fine voice and ready for the evening’s entertainment, the only thing missing is the two competitors. And here comes the first…
‘Good Man’ by Devour The Day hits the PA System and the Faithful are already up on their feet to welcome back the man known to many as ‘The Legacy’. The lights dim in eager anticipation of the long-awaited return of Dillon Durst but nothing comes. The lyrics play, the music rolls on, the tron flickers… but no ‘Legacy’ appears on stage to accompany them. After a few moments the music shuts off, as does the tron, and Mark Long is left looking bewildered in the ring.
The ring announcer takes a moment to mutter something to ringside before signaling to the back, as if to tell them to try again. This time, however, the music is that of ‘Bonehead’ by Naked City.
As ‘The Legacy’ is left behind, Anson’s music plays out and the typical light show and enigmatic tron join it as always. The brutal song continues but STILL the fans are left in the absence of an actual Anson, or even his manager Suede. The absence continues until, again, after a few moments they music and tron cut out and the lights return to normal.
A chorus of low, confused boos begins to spread through the arena as Mark Long lifts his microphone and prepares to dispense the bad news to the increasingly displeased Faithful.
Mark Long: Ladies and Gentlemen, as neither Dillon Durst or Anson are able to enter the ring…..
Would the man in the cheap suit please shut his damn mouth?!
An unknown voice suddenly booms out from the PA system and cuts Mark Long off in mid sentence, which he seems to annoy him more than the off-hand comment about his perfectly above-average expense attire. It’s only until he, and the rest of the arena, looks toward the stage that he sees just how cheaply he is dressed.
Out through the curtain and doused in a spotlight bright enough to make the Star of Bethlehem insecure walks a figure dressed in an ostentatious mix of designer goods and several dead animals. The imposing man strides out onto the stage dressed in the highest-end designed jeans, t-shirt, a jacket made from at least two kinds of exotic fur and a pair of crocodile skin boots.
The only reason everybody in this arena isn’t watching an extremely depressing display of wrestling by Dillon Durst and Anson right now is because ‘The Great’ Prince Mephisto bought this time for himself! And you can all thank me later.
The arrogant individual known as Prince Mephisto on the stage is met with a chorus of boos and jeers from the Faithful as they would rather be watched the ‘extremely depressing’ wrestling match they paid to see. Instead they are forced to listen to Mephisto as he goes on.
You people must surely understand that money is the only thing that matters in this world. You should know, because looking into the sea of all you poor souls I don’t see a single one of you that matters in the slightest.
The PCW Faithful voice their disgust and outrage, but having clearly acquired this time by virtue of his deep wallet, ‘The Great’ Prince Mephisto is not willing to part with his limelight yet. He stands on the stage, twizzling his microphone in his hand as if relishing the animosity of the crowd, his icy blue eyes looking out into the mass of angry faces.
You paid what little money you have to come here and watch what was put in front of you like mindless animals. I paid my money to walk out here and give all of you a once in a lifetime memory. Who has the power here? Me, ‘The Great’ Prince Mephisto. And with power comes respect… but none of that matters because with money you get EVERYTHING!”
Boos and jeers grow louder and louder until they are deafening and the Faithful threaten to burst through the constraints of the security barrier to attack the obnoxious young capitalist on the stage. To his credit, Mephisto merely stands and stares back at them with a sly grin on his lips, not reacting in the slightest to their insults.
I have paid for only the best training, I have bought the best facilities, I have hired all the expertise I need to reach the top of this industry and soon you will get to see what all that has been for. Soon, very soon, you will pay your money to sit there as ‘The Great’ Prince Mephisto starts his journey toward PCW Gold!
With that, ‘The Great’ Prince Mephisto throws his microphone into the crowd as if giving them a ‘gift’, a gift the PCW Faithful look upon with not even a hint of generosity. Instead the massive jeers continue as the arrogant newcomer walks backstage, followed until the very last moment by the blinding spotlight.
Match Two
Singles Match
Wasp (Tag Team Champion) vs High Tide (Tag Team Champion)
Referee: Charles Lim
The fans boo loudly as Welcome to the Jungle hits, and the lights flash furiously. Wasp comes out looking more invigorated than he has been the last few weeks. He unlike his Freebooter partner wastes no time with antics and is practically running for the ring as he slides under the bottom rope. He walks to far ropes, one foot on the mat and one on the ropes. The crowd although booing can tell that he is ready for this match to begin, and are indeed left confused.
With very little lighting and effects that simulate lightning, High Tide (in a viking outfit) walks down the ramp slightly crouched over, as if he was sitting. He holds a large pirate flag in one hand, and in the other he is imitating steering a ship. He does this until he gets to the ring where he motions dropping and anchor and proceeds to hop on to the turnbuckle and dive headfirst over the ropes, rolling into a standing position. Then he climbs the nearest turnbuckle and pulls out a spyglass, looking around at the audience. He mimics loading a cannon and as he motions firing it and jumps off the turnbuckle into the ring (to imitate recoil) as fireworks shoot from all four turnbuckles.
Notorious for bending rules to their liking, Charles Lim pats both men down with more vigor than normal, and deems that both men are not concealing anything and motions for the bell to signal the beginning of the match. Tide and Wasp meet in the center of the ring with a few exchanged words and a quick handshake, before each adopting their fighting stances.
Tide is quick to strike, diving for the legs of Wasp, and neatly taking him down with a double leg takedown. He tries for a quick pin, but before the referee can even make a full one count Wasp has his shoulders off the mat, and is pushing Tide off of him. Tide rebounds off the nearest ropes and goes for a clothesline on the rising Wasp who ducks. Tide rebounds off the ropes and right into a big boot! Wasp is quick to climb the turnbuckle and as Tide rises he goes for a flying dropkick!
The older man is in surprise as Tide catches him by the legs and using his own momentum against him, slams him down on the mat on his back. Tide cycles right into a two legs hooked pin. 1…2.kickout. Tide is up now and doesn’t wait for Wasp to rise, bouncing off the ropes and delivering a baseball slide kick right to Wasp’s face. He drops to cover Wasp again. 1…2…kickout! The frustration is visible in Tide’s eyes as he gives the referee an exasperated look.
Tide has the same idea as Wasp and looks to end the match quickly and climbs the ropes. Suddenly the crowd can be heard cheering and Tide turns to see none other than Cory Steel and Tyler Hendrix wading through a part in the crowd, who are all slapping them on the back or merely touching the superstars, so they can tell all their friends at home. Tide waits on the turnbuckle, ready to launch himself at whoever comes at him first. Suddenly the crowd pops even louder as Sebastian St. Paul of The New Breed and Citizen suddenly appear in a full sprint from the back.
Tide appears to be caught in between two sets of enemies, and is getting ready to launch himself at St. Paul but stops when he sees the duo run right PAST him and cut off Cory Steel and Tyler Hendrix who have just hopped over the barrier. A huge double clothesline sends both men back over the barrier. They regain their feet quickly, and as St. Paul tries to climb over the barrier, a well executed double kick from the two men impedes his progress. Steel and Hendrix look up at Tide, who is still transfixed on the situation, and then back to Citizen and St. Paul and they decide to take off the way they came, realizing that they were suddenly outnumbered. Instead of chase them, St. Paul stands guard over the slowly closing part in the crowd, as if daring the two would be assailants to return.
Confused but with no time to ask questions, Tide returns his attention to Wasp. However the only thing in his field of vision is The Great White North. The superkick rocks the Viking pirate and sends him right off the turnbuckle to the outside, crashing hard on the mat near the feet of St. Paul and Citizen. Both men shuffle a few feet to the side, but make no move to attack the fallen pirate, which earns them a great cheer from the crowd.
Charles Lim has no choice but to begin a count, but Wasp has other ideas. By the time the referee gets to three, Wasp is out of the ring and dragging High Tide to his feet. Not wanting to get a win by count out, it takes him another three seconds to roll the body of his tag team partner into the ring and slides in himself. Wasp waits for High Tide to rise, and rebounds off the rope, and catches the defenseless pirate with a Stinger! He quickly drops into the pin.

Winner: Wasp
As the bell rings to signal the end of the match, Wasp immediately is making sure Tide is okay. He helps the pirate to his feet, when suddenly Citizen and Sebastian St. Paul are in the ring and Wasp is on his guard as well as the still semi-stunned Tide. The pair makes no move to attack. St. Paul points at himself, then at the Freebooters and mimics putting a belt around his waist. Wasp appears to consider it for a moment and then in a surprise twist, looks to the fans with his arms open as if to say “Well, what do you think?” The crowd roars approvingly at the prospect of The New Breed and The Freebooters meeting for what could possibly be the final time for the belts and they only get louder as Wasp offers his hand, which St. Paul promptly shakes. Both pairs of men head to the back, The Freebooters followed by the uninjured of The New Breed ... separately of course.
