Match One
Triple Threat Match
Kevin ‘The Scorpion’ Drake vs. Tyrone ‘Crazy Boy’ Smith vs. Cory ‘The Bear’ Steel
Referee: Joseph Buckland
The arena darkens, and first few notes of "Strike Back" by We As Human play over the sound system. The music hits, the arena is lit up by the lights and Kevin Drake stands on the stage, holding his right fist in the air as red fireworks from both sides of the stage shoot up into the air three times. Kevin begins his walk to the ring, slapping hands with fans as he goes down the ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, the Scorpion holds his hands in the air again and red fireworks shoot all the way down the ramp like machine gun fire. Kevin runs to the ring and slides in, running over to a turnbuckle and jumping onto the second rope. He waves his hand up, motioning for the crowd to cheer for him. Then, as his music dies down, Kevin hops off the turnbuckle and leans against the ropes.
The arena turns red and black with the crowd growing into cheers, the bells of the song ring, and "Heaven Knows" by The Pretty Reckless plays! Cory Steel emerges from the back a calm and focused look on his face. Cory pauses looking over his shoulder when Othello Craven walks out. The two men continue down the ramp when from through the crowd three masked men crawl over the barricades, they fall in line behind Cory. As Cory walks down the ramp he smirks as he looks left then right seeing the crowd clapping to the rythm of the song and the growing chants of his name. He rolls under the bottom rope quickly getting to his feet and goes straight to his corner. Taking a hair tie from his pocket he pulls his hair back and then remains still. The rest of his bodyguards take a watchful stand in Cory's corner.
The lights flicker and fade out as the pulsating beats of Dope Star Inc's "10000 Watts of Artificial Pleasure" pops on the PA system. Smoke fills the arena as a figure stands in the middle of it. All the sudden, Crazy Boy comes out of the smoke and pumps a fist in the air. He walks down the entryway and climbs the ropes of the ring. He bounces around the ropes a few times and pumps his fist in the air just as Joseph Buckland calls for the bell - and the match begins!
Smith moves to circle the ring but Steel is in no such mood and is eager to start out with a BANG! Steel rushes Smith and clotheslines him straight over the top rope ... sending both men sprawling out onto the floor. Steel is the first to his feet with Smith right behind him, Drake following down to catch Smith on the rise with several fists, to which Smith answers with knife-edged chops of his own.
The two are neck and neck ... and both men rolling into the ring at the count of nine does nothing to interrupt their fisticuffs. As the men return to their feet, the fists and chops are STILL flying ... not skipping a beat. The pace slows, Smith beating Drake at his own game! Forcing Drake back into the nearest corner, his offensive flurry is cut short by a belly to belly suplex that leaves Smith flat on his back in the center of the ring.
Drake finally moves in to capitalize, bullrushing Steel away from the prone Crazy Boy! Slipping to Smith, he begins lifting the man by his hair as ‘The Bear’ struggles to rise in the corner, Kevin suddenly distracted to see what the crowd is roaring about.
It’s Showtime!! The previously missing Michael Wryght is coming tearing down the ramp, looking absolutely nothing like himself. Hair wild and tousled, suit coat torn and shirt untucked, it looks like he’s coming barreling straight out of a nasty gutter brawl with NCM’s Hobo Horde - and straight towards the combatants in the ring!
He hits the ring like an explosion of destruction, grabbing Drake by the neck and executing a picture perfect Neckbreaker, shoving Drake violently away at the completion of the move! Back on his feet in a flash, he tears towards the rising Steel who meets him with a strike of his own! Showtime dodges the haphazard blow, winding up for a powerful uppercut straight into Steel’s jaw, knocking ‘The Bear’ out cold! Ignoring the ref’s protests, he rounds on the final talent in the ring, PCW’s self proclaimed ‘Crazy Boy’! A series of savage strikes to the midsection doubles Smith over, Wryght lifting him bodily overhead in an impressive show of strength and dropping him over one knee in a backbreaker! Smith writhing in pain on the mat, and Drake struggling to rise, Showtime slips out of the ring and comes back with - a steel chair! Kevin, with at least a modicum of survival instinct, attempts to assist Smith to his feet, hoping a numbers game will help the two get out of the ring intact! Buckland steps forward with reluctance written all over his face, jerking the chair out of Showtime’s hand, his face draining of color as Wryght rounds on him in fury - only to be distracted by a flying dropkick from Steel!
Wryght goes tumbling and Buckland makes his strategic retreat from the ring, directing the approaching EMT’s to the still senseless Steel in the far corner. Showtime gains his feet with preternatural speed, his eyes locking on Smith and Drake leaning against each other on the far side of the ring. With a feral roar, he flat out CHARGES at the two of them, hammering them down to the mat with a bestial version of the Pounce!
“Stars and Stripes Forever” by the U.S. Army Field Band begins to play over the PCW loudspeakers and the crowd cheers as none other than Mr. President himself appears! He storms down to the ring in a clear fury, Kevin Drake first to come to his senses and slide out of the ring to greet him. Meeting Brooks halfway up the ramp Drake opens his mouth to complain, only managing to get a few words in before Mr. President jabs a finger into his chest!
“Kevin Drake!? YOU’RE FIRED!!”
Continuing his way up to the ring, he stands there letting loose a harangue directed towards Showtime worthy of a seasoned drill sergeant, Wryght straightening up and glaring at him. The only words anyone can finally make out is Brooks’ apoplectic shout:
“- IN MY OFFICE!”
Once the fracas is cleared, we can get PROPERLY started with our first OFFICIAL contest of the evening ... !
Match Two
Genesis Championship Match
‘The Amazing One’ Maize (Champion) vs. Justin ‘Stormm’ Michaels
Referee: Eric Russo
The arena lights dim down to a gentle glow and the sound of pouring rain fills the arena to the brim as an orange fog begins to cover the entrance way. Hardly containing themselves already, the fans start to rise to their feet as a sudden bright flash of orange lights flood the crowd before a deafening crash of thunder rattles the foundation and leaves the arena in darkness. The pre-chorus rift to "Crash" by Decyfer Down instigates a small riot amongst those in attendance as orange flashes, like lightning, illuminate the way for the Force of Nature, and Justin Michaels appears through the curtain and onto the stage.
"CRASH! YOU'RE GOING DOWN! WITHOUT A SOUND!"
Justin plays to the cheers of the fans from atop the ramp, and marches back and forth while interacting with those in attendance. He nods his head and points towards the fans recognizing all the support they provide before turning his attention back to the ring, and starts to make his way towards the squared circle.
"THEN I'LL PASS YOU UP, BEFORE I EXPLODE! BREAKING IN TWO! I'LL SEE IT THROUGH!"
"YOU WON'T KEEP ME DOWN WHEN I CRASH THROUGH YOU!"
Justin immediately scales the nearest turnbuckle to raise his hands into the air for all to see. The flash bulbs surge throughout the arena as the orange lights brighten back to the venue's usual lighting. Justin repeats his actions and poses on the turnbuckle in the opposite corner before hopping down from the corner as his music fades out, but the overwhelming applause does not as he stands the ready for his match.
"Down With the Sickness" by Disturbed plays as Maize strolls out on the stage, with the PCW Genesis title draped across this right shoulder. Having won the championship at Trauma 148, this is Maize's first defense. Maize hops into the ring and give an arrogant sneer to the crowd. The referee, Eric Russo takes the title belt from him, but not without a fight. The title belt is held aloft for all to see before the bell is sounded. Off we go.
In a burst of built up energy accumulated throughout his break from wrestling, Stormm mounts an immediate attack. He takes down Maize with a leg grab and quickly follows up with arm bar on the mat. Taken by surprise, Maize tries to wriggle free but Stormm keep the hold tight. Maize struggles to find a way to his feet but at least manages to get up to his knees. With the arm bar still locked in, Justin Michaels hauls Maize up to a vertical base before lifting him off the mat. With added gravity, the arm bar is even more painful to the current champion.
All Maize can do his swing his legs wildly until, luckily, he catches Stormm in the knee cap with the heel of his boot. Stormm drops him and Maize quickly hits a back kick to the stomach. Hitting the ropes, Maize returns to the centre of the ring with speed only to be met by huge belly to belly suplex. Stormm quickly makes the cover, but Maize rolls a shoulder at a count of one.
Stormm, keeping momentum on his side, is quickly to his feet. He grapples Maize and hits a sideplex. Maize is back up, but staggering all over the place. He walks straight into another suplex, this time belly to back. After that, Maize is a little slower to make it back to his feet, giving Justin Michaels time to stalk his prey. Stormm attacks from behind, wraps his right leg around Maize's left, and hits a front russian leg sweep. Maizes face bounces off the canvas and for a moment, his eyes rolls back into his head. Stormm makes the cover. The referee slides to the mat. 1...2... No. Maize just kicks out of it.
Stormm, feeling the gratitude of the fans following a sequence of suplexes, take a moment to play up to them. In the meantime, Maize shakes off the effects of the previous onslaught. Stormm refocuses on his opponent. He lifts Maize to his feet and whips him into the ropes. Stormm follows him and drives a knee into the gut whilst on the ropes. He repeats for added effect. With Maize winded, Michaels whips him across the ring again before taking up a position in the centre. Maize returns and Stormm ducks his head. It's a moment too early. Maize puts the brakes on and kicks Stormm right in the face. Michaels reels backwards before composing himself. With Maize still groggy, he dives forward. But Maize cannily drops to the mat and hits a chop block on Stormm's delicate left knee. Justin crumples to the mat, clutching at his jarred knee.
The crowd are not best pleased with the sly tactics that Maize has resorted to. But Maize doesn't really give a shit. He takes a moment to compose himself. One more to smile at the referee. He then attacks.
Michaels, who is barely able to put any weight on his leg, is hauled to his feet by Maize. Maize grabs the injured leg and allows Michaels to hop around for a bit just to amuse himself. He then hits a twisting leg take down. Justin, showing his experience and knowhow, rolls to the corner of the ring, seeking some protection in gripping the bottom rope. Maize, however, is lurking behind him. He lifts the left leg of Stormm again and drives the knee into the mat, not once but twice. Just for good measure, he then stands on the back of the knee with his full weight. Unsure whether it actually constitute a wrestling hold, but with Michaels still clinging the ropes, Eric Russo calls for Maize to release it. The Amazing One waits until the referee gets to a count of 4 before stepping off his opponent's knee.
After Maize argues with the official for a second, he drags Stormm back to his feet. He does the old heel manoeuvre of raking Michaels' eyes across the top just to get the crowd animated once more. Maize follows up an Irish whip with a big back body slam. He immediately hooks the leg. The referee is slow to make it to the mat. 1...2... kick out by Stormm. Maize makes his views regarding the referees lethargy abundantly clear.
Maize lifts Justin Michaels to his feet and wraps an elbow into the side of his head. He then follows up with a back breaker, snapping Stormm over his knee.
With Stormm grounded, Maize mounts him and drives numerous punches into just opponent. The crowd don't react very well to the beat down tactics from the Amazing One. Maize gets to his feet and revels in the jeers. Stormm struggles back to his feet but Maize us on him straight away. He throws Michaels into the corner with force before following with a shoulder to the gut. Maize throws Stormm across the ring and hits another spear to the torso, forcing the air from Michaels' lungs.
Maize sends Justin across the diagonal for a third successive time but on this occasion, Stormm breaks out of the corner with an explosive clothesline. Maize is immediately back to his feet but only succeeds in staggering back into Michaels' grasp. Michaels spins to the rear of his opponent, put on a waist lock and hurls Maize over his head in a sick german suplex. The earlier beat down has taken its till on Stormm. He has to take a few moments to regain his senses and composure, meaning he is not able to capitalise on any momentum.
Both men rise slowly. Maize it the first to attack with a strong forearm to the face. Justin reacts with one of his own. The two men exchange blows in the centre of the ring. The referee jostles to stay out of the way of flailing arms whilst also maintaining a good visual of the scrap. Back and forth they go before Maize ducks under a swinging right hook from Justin Michaels. He immediately pushes Michaels in the back sending him careering into the referee. The official is caught with a glancing blow to the face but, unusually for a wrestling referee, he doesn't hit the mat. In fact he only goes to one knee, clutching his face and gripping the middle rope.
Whilst Stormms back is turned, the opportunistic Maize delivers a brutal kick between the legs. Stormm crumbles to the mat in agony as boos ring out. Maize just shrugs his shoulders and grins at the crowd. Maize slowly and arrogantly circles the fallen Justin Michaels. He wanders across to the referee and gives him a tug on the sleeve. Once the referee has shaken off a few stars and tweety birds from circling his head, Maize goes down to his knee and then flops onto his back, lying across Stormm to make a cocky casual cover. 1...2...
Justin Michaels suddenly springs into life. Whilst on the mat, Stormm grabs Maize by the arm, wretches it, twists it and locks in a modified half Nelson arm lock.Maize, realizing he is in trouble, starts kicking his legs frantically. To mitigate that, Michaels puts on a leg scissors hold and tightens his grip. Stranded in the middle of the ring, Maize looks out from under his own deformed arm, trying to find the sanctuary of the ropes. But once again Stormm increases the torque and Maize lets out a girly whimper. Finally Maize succumbs to the pain and taps hard and fast on the mat.
Michaels releases Maize, who's first title reign in Pure Class Wrestling lasts only a week. The former champion rolls from the ring, no where near as cocky as he was a few moments before.
In the ring, Stormm is handled the Genesis title by the official. Michaels takes it, lifts it up in front of face and peers at it for a moment. With a slight shrug and a slight smiler, Justin Michaels is happy with his night’s work. But one gets the feeling that he has bigger plans than just the Genesis Championship on his agenda ...
