Match One
Singles Match
Gem vs. Tyrone Smith
Referee: Melina Cruz
The otherworldly tones heralding Amira Yamaoka’s “Witchcraft” float eerily over the assembled fans, somber piano notes soon taking up an ethereal, yet disquieting melody as Gem makes her appearance at the top of the ramp. A light percussive beat moves through the music as the lithe competitor makes her way to the ring, the uneasy cheers of the fans making eliciting no response. Rather than a sense of noticing and ignoring the activity around her, Gem carries herself in such a way to make it clear - anything other than her objective is quite simply beneath her notice.
The lights flicker and fade out as the pulsating beats of Dope Star Inc's "10000 Watts of Artificial Pleasure" pops on the PA system. Smoke fills the arena, a lone figure standing in the middle of it all on the stage. All the sudden Crazy Boy comes out of the smoke and pumps a fist in the air, pointing straight at his opponent in the ring and shouting something unintelligible. He walks down the entryway and climbs the ropes of the ring, bouncing around the ropes a few times, Gem watching him professional interest all the while. Crazy Boy pumps his fist in the air one last time and turns to face Gem who sinks into a ready position that looks suspiciously like a martial arts stance. Melina Cruz gives her brief instructions then signals - the bell sounds, and the match begins!
Crazy Boy immediately lunges forward on the offensive, throwing a few experimental blows that They struggle for a moment then break, Gem taking the opportunity to dart forward again, the canny veteran in Crazy Boy sidestepping the attack and jamming a mean elbow into the back of Gem’s head! While Melina Cruz admonishes Crazy Boy, Gem picks herself up and jumps onto the ropes only to launch herself at Crazy Boy’s back, sending both competitors crashing to the mat! Crazy Boy puts a sloppy ankle lock on Gem who twists around like a serpent and drives a savage boot directly into Crazy Boy’s head! Crazy Boy releases her immediately, Gem skittering away to put some distance between herself and her opponent.
Crazy Boy pursues her across the ring, hammering away with raw brute force and following it up with a rough shove that slams Gem back-first against the turnbuckle! Pressing the advantage, Crazy Boy muscles his way towards the corner and lets loose a flurry of blows, Gem dodging the quick punches with the precision agility of a cobra. Ducking up under a wide swing, Gem wraps both arms around the extended limb and throws a sharp knee strike into Crazy Boy’s ribs - and another, and another! Crazy Boy doubles over with gasping coughs, backing away while using his free arm to desperately try and pry Gem off his arm, but the relentless attack continues! No anger at all in the young woman’s face, but it’s clear she’s all business and no bullshit - and Crazy Boy happens to be the order of business for this evening.
Another vicious knee to the ribs and Crazy Boy roars in pain, tearing his arm away and slipping out under the ropes, holding his left side and panting for breath. Cruz looks on in concern as she does the 10-count, the nearby med-tech hovering … Crazy Boy coughing once more and wiping spittle away from his mouth while staring at the blood on his hand for all of two seconds before rolling back into the ring! He sprints across the ring towards his opponent, but Gem is on him in an instant, leveling his charge with a solidly anchored clothesline and wrapping him up in a pin!

.. - kickout!
Crazy Boy gets a shoulder up, a rabid look on his face he surges up from the mat, knocking Gem stumbling back with sheer aggression, backing her into a corner with a series of heavy blows, doing his best to literally beat her into submission. Gem struggles forward, trying to gain ground, Crazy Boy giving her just enough maneuvering room to drop her with a vicious spear, slamming her back into the turnbuckle and laying in with knife edged chops! Cruz intervenes, pulling Crazy Boy back and bending forward to check on Gem who narrows her eyes and slithers out of the corner, leaping forward towards Crazy Boy! Locking her legs around Crazy Boy’s midsection she braces both hands against the mat and uses her momentum to slingshot him towards the ropes as she flips forward!
As Crazy Boy tangles awkwardly in the ropes, Gem recovers smoothly from the impressive maneuver and darting towards her opponent, Crazy Boy wrenching himself from the ropes just in time to shoulder into Gem, the two athletes tumbling down to scuffle on the mat! Gem’s superior agility pays off and she manages to extricate himself first, the industry fresh newcomer jumping the gun to attempt a haphazard pin - Crazy Boy responding by aiming a vicious punch straight into Gem’s sternum! Gem is knocked back, and Crazy Boy follows her over, putting all his greater weight and mass into a hold on Gem and going for a pin!
