The streak is over.
After all was said and done, at Trauma 154, Tyrone “Crazy Boy” Smith finally picked up a victory, his first victory since September 2013.
It felt good to finally get back into in the winner’s column, but Crazy Boy cannot rest on his laurels yet. He may have tasted victory once again, but at Trauma 155, he is going to be in a battle of his life when he has to compete in a “Last Chance” Battle Royale, where the winner gets a spot in the 2014 Icemann Invitational Tournament. But in order to get the job done and get a chance for the illustrious tournament, he has to compete in a battle royale against some newcomers and some veterans that he’s never beaten before.
But he has to show that he is not just a flash in the pan, no matter what. That will mean beating his eternal arch rival, Andy D and the bearded man who broke his ankle, Grimm.
The scene opens up with Tyrone walking down the boardwalk that is parallel to the beach that runs in his hometown. He has a small duffel bag in his hand and seems to have an extra spring in his step. A huge smile is on the face on the veteran superstar, as the slow and steady walk starts into a jog. As he continues to jog, he passes by a couple of casinos that were built on the beach, a small building appearing in the distance on the other side of the second casino.
He stops in front of the small building and looks up at the sign that hangs over it: “Smith’s Gym”. He smiles and jogs up to the front door and opens up the heavy door. Inside, it seems relatively quiet, except for a couple of people in the corner punching on bags and a couple, mostly like husband and wife, talking amongst themselves at the lockers.
In the middle of the wrestling ring, there sits a middle aged man, hair slightly silvered, but built for his size. He seems a little taller than Tyrone, but about the same size frame wise. He is wearing a black sweat shirt and some gray sweat pants, not to be one with a sense of fashion. He is staring down at a clipboard as Tyrone walks to the ring, stopping right outside the ropes.
“Hey! Carlos!
The man turns around and notices the Crazy One standing next to the ring and waves his hand, motioning him into the ring. Crazy Boy slides under the ring and stands next to the man, who gives Tyrone a quick hug.
“Hey, brother! How you doing? Cassie said you would be dropping by. Apparently you have a big match coming up and you want to do some training in your big brother’s gym?
So that would explain the closeness between the two. Indeed, Carlos is Tyrone’s older brother, who was once a wrestler himself and even had a feud with his younger brother before retiring due to multiple injuries. Now he runs a small gym in Tyrone’s home town, and every now and then, if the Crazy One needs a little extra training, he will come to the gym.
“Cass thinks of everything, doesn’t she? Yeah, I have a big battle royale coming up and I need some extra work outs and training to make sure I get through this, especially with some of the participants.
Tyrone looks down at his ankle and shakes it around. Carlos gets a gist and puts a hand on his brother’s shoulder.
“Oh, HE’S going to be in the match, eh? The one that broke your ankle and almost ended your career?”
Crazy Boy nods his head and continues to shake his ankle, showing that it’s okay now. A stern looks on his face as he looks up at Carlos.
“Yeah, he’s going to be in it. Andy D too. Some newcomers, like Sapphire and Eden, and some veterans like Cory Steel and others. It’s a melee of a match, but I need to make sure I walk out of this match the winner at any costs. This would be my Last Chance to get into the Icemann Invitation tournament for this year. Plus it would show everyone that I’m not just a flash in the pan and my win last week was not a damn fluke.”
Carlos nods and turns around and puts his fingers on the side of his mouth, letting out a shrill whistle. After a few moments, you can see several individuals, both male and female, coming out of the back rooms and climb into the ring, surrounding Crazy Boy. Tyrone takes a look around before looking at his brother curiously.
“Cassie mentioned that you were in a battle royale when she called me a couple of days ago, so I got a lot of amateur wrestlers from around the area to help you train and simulate a battle royale. I know there are males and females in the match, so I got both genders. I know you follow that code –“
“No I don’t follow that code anymore. I have no right to follow that code. There are reasons why, but I just can’t follow that code anymore.”
“Whatever. Anyway, I am going to go over there and ring a bell and we are going to simulate a battle royale. See how well you do with this one. If you can’t win this one against amateur wrestlers, you might as well hang it up, because there is no way in hell you will win against the likes of Andy D and Grimm.”
Carlos points to one of the individuals, who’s face is covered by a mask.
“And maybe, just maybe, you’ll get to be able to see a surprise and see who’s behind that mask. But there’s two conditions to that: either you make it to the final two and it’s him and you… or you win. That’s the only way. And if you do find out, the question will be if you can finish the job. That is another thing you have to remember: no matter who’s in the ring, you have to do your job.”
The Crazy One nods his head slowly and focuses on the crowd that surrounds the ring. Carlos steps out of the ring and walks over to a chair with a bell on it. He grins and grabs the hammer, ringing the bell.
The crowd jumps into action as fists and bodies fly around the ring. Crazy Boy is caught in the middle as he gets caught by a burly looking man. The man grins and grabs Tyrone and prepares to throw him out of the ring, but Tyrone hangs on the ropes and uses his legs to throw the burly man out of the ring with a thud. He turns around only to meet with a dropkick by a pretty girl with red hair.
Crazy Boy gets tangled in the ropes as the girl prepares to dropkick Tyrone out of the ring, but he hangs on to the ropes with all his might and watches as the girl hits Tyrone, but he doesn’t fall out of the ring. Crazy Boy untangles himself and watches as a couple more people have been eliminated from the “match” since that ordeal. He quickly looks as the young girl prepares to charge at Crazy Boy again, but this time he’s ready and grabs the girl and throws her over the rope.
He turns around and sees what looks like twins working together and charging at the veteran superstar. He takes the double clothesline that the twins give him as he stumbles back to his feet. He gets thrown into the turnbuckle and like a blur of lightning, one of the twins throw themselves over the other one and hits Crazy Boy with a massive forearm to the chest.
Crazy Boy falls down to the mat as he gets back up. The twins grab Tyrone and prepare to throw him out, but the man in the mask comes and grabs both the twins and throw them out of the ring. The man in the mask shoots The Crazy One a look before turning back around to the waning crowd.
Tyrone looks at the situation and realizes there are only 4 more people back in the ring. Two of the remaining wrestlers, a muscled man and a woman, are attacking the man in the mask. Tyrone regains his senses and rushes over to the masked man’s aid, pulling the woman off of him and hitting a Russian Leg sweep on her. He picks her up and tries to throw her out of the ring, but she holds on to the ropes and lands on the apron. Like lightning, he gives her an elbow to the face and she loses her grip and falls off the apron. As he turns around, the masked man throws the muscled man out of the ring, leaving just Crazy Boy and the masked man.
The Masked man shows a small smile under his mask and reaches back to take the mask off. As he does, you see flashes of green hair and piercing green eyes. The mask continues to fall off the face and shows a double pierced eyebrow. As the mask comes completely off, Tyrone stares at amazement, not sure what to think as he stares at the individual who is in front of him.
It’s his youngest brother who he hasn’t seen in years, Tommy.
Crazy Boy flashes a quick look at Carlos, who just motions to keep going. Tyrone sighs and glances at Tommy, who bounces in place, ready to get this underway. Crazy Boy shrugs and charges at his youngest brother, who side steps out of the way and puts Tyrone in a sleeper hold. Crazy Boy struggles for breath as Tommy cinches the hold in deeper. Crazy Boy’s face turns bright red as he struggles to get to the ropes. Tommy doesn’t let go as Tyrone reaches to the ropes and gets a fingertip on them.
Crazy Boy eventually grabs hold of the ropes, falling on one knee. Tommy doesn’t let go, but Crazy Boy uses the ropes as leverage and with the last bit of his strength to free his neck and knock Tommy back. He sits there for a minute, gasping for air, as Tommy charges at Crazy Boy. Crazy Boy notices it though and lowers the rope and before Tommy can stop, goes tumbling over the rope and falls to the floor.
“Okay that’s good enough guys. Good job, Ty!”
Tyrone gasps for air and flashes a grin at his brother, Carlos. Tommy struggles to get up from the floor and shakes his head softly. He climbs back into the ring and stares at Crazy Boy before giving him a quick hug.
“Good job, brother. I think you will be fine. Just keep your wits about you and you will be fine in that battle royale.”
Tyrone nods quickly as he looks at Carlos as he motions for him to come on.
“Take a small breather, then it’s time to hit the weights and get you ready for that match. We’re not done with you yet. Take this moment to play a little catch up with Tommy. I’m sure you have much to catch up on.”
Tyrone nods and sits down on the bench. Carlos and Tommy were right. If he can do what he did here, he just might be able to survive and win this battle royale, getting that chance to be in the Icemann Invitational. He just needs to survive, and with the brothers reunited and giving him advice and their own techniques…
He may just be able to do it.
Static and fade.
End.
