As the Pure Class Arena continued to empty, moments following the final bell for Trauma One Fifty-four; deep in the bowels of the structure stood one man, as proud as any who stood before him. A few lucky individuals walked away from, having gotten their five minutes backstage with the Force of Nature, and not only him, but the rest of his family too.
Justin had dispatched his Icemann Invitational Tournament first round opponent for the third time in his career with Pure Class Wrestling earlier that evening. Tyler Scott had nothing to be ashamed of, he put up a valiant effort, but Stormm would not be bowing down from any fight in this year's tournament. Any betting man would find it hard to bet against him, given the way he's performed in the ring since returning earlier this year.
He seemed to stand a little taller that evening, amongst his wife, Lindsay, his siblings, Morgan and Aaron, he was even happy to have seen Aaron's girlfriend, Katie, along for the ride as well. However, not all of them seemed to share in the celebration as he would have liked. Lindsay was in her own world, despite the nature of the evening, and the praise from the rest of the family.
"What's wrong with Lindsay?" The young blonde attached to Aaron's arm whispered to him.
The youngest Michaels shrugged, but a tiny whack on the shoulder from Justin let him know that they weren't talking quiet enough. Lindsay had been doing her best the past couple of weeks to hide whatever was ailing her, but with no luck. The rest of the family had been told by Justin to leave it be, and when she wanted to talk about it, she would. There was no need to pressure her and potentially scare her back off.
"What did you do that for?" Lindsay snapped.
The Force of Nature proceeded to nudge everyone standing in the circle just outside of his dressing room, to play it off as a playful act of happiness after the events of the evening. "Nothing, I'm just in a good mood." He followed it up by stealing a kiss from his lady love, and a smile returned to her face. "I'm also really glad you all could make it tonight. Well, everyone except the mystery man that Morgan has been seeing." He joked. "When are we..."
"Not tonight!" Morgan raised her voice, but not out of anger. "Speaking of him, he should be getting off work any time now, so I'll be going."
Justin's twin sister wasted no time in leaving the festivities behind, but Aaron still had yet to outgrow the life backstage with his hero, his older brother. "Have I said how awesome that..."
"Yes." Everyone else said in unison to Aaron.
"What about the..."
"Yes."
"How about that Force of Nature that put him away?!" His excitement had reached new levels, and then there was a silence.
Justin grabbed his brother in a headlock he was unable to escape. "You know, I have been trying to get more impact on some of those moves lately, nothing gets past this kid." The silver screen family moment came to an end after a quick noogie and release from the hold. "I figure with all the reckless competitors running around here, why not give my arsenal a little more high impact?" He questioned rhetorically.
"So exciting..." Lindsay commented with a roll of her eyes and a glance towards the exit. She had been relentless with her sarcasm and attitude for several days now, and it seemed to have been the straw the broke the camel’s back for Justin.
"How about that pizza?!" He exclaimed. Aaron and Katie seemed to be all for it. "I think Brian should be out with the limo if you guys want to head that way and find him. I need to talk to Lindsay real quick." Justin was referring to his longtime friend, business partner, and current interim CEO of Havoc Entertainment, Brian McCallister.
The two (soon to be) high school seniors backed away slowly with smiles on their faces. "Ooooooo!" They both giggled at their childish behavior before leaving Justin to speak with his wife.
Lindsay tried to follow her brother in law, but Justin stepped in front of her, and he quickly turned from happy go lucky to serious business in an instant. "What the Hell is your problem tonight Lindsay?!" He exclaimed in hush tones. "I thought we had worked past all this bullshit weeks ago, and here you are, trying to pretend like nothing is wrong, but getting all bent out of shape over things that never used to bother you."
"It's nothing, really. Now can we go?" She hastily answered, just trying to avoid the conversation all together.
"No!" He snapped, and tried to quickly gain his composure. "These are the kinds of things we need to talk about and not avoid, otherwise we are right back to where we were eight months ago. Do you want that? Do you?!"
Lindsay had no answer, or at least, not one made of up words. Justin saw it coming too. He wrapped his arms around her just before she started to bawl uncontrollably. He quickly moved towards his dressing room, opened up the door, and shuffled Lindsay inside with him. She stopped crying almost immediately, and Justin was caught off guard by the unexpected guest.
Lounged out in her street clothes was Stacy Jones, one of Pure Class Wrestling's newest additions. "Lindsay Michaels? I guess you're his wife then?" She chuckled. "I thought you'd be... prettier." The bitchy young blonde pressed on. " I guess some hot guys need ugly wives to make themselves feel like they're doing something nice for, well... charity?"
Granted, it hadn't been one of Lindsay's finer moments, and the running makeup from her trail of tears was not helping at all. Justin tried to keep his calm, to do his best from Lindsay breaking out into hysterics. "Can I help you?" He queried.
Stacy quickly turned her attention back to the Force of Nature. "Justin Michaels." She confirmed. "I see you had a great showing in the ring tonight; but looks like you have to perform twice as well at Trauma One Fifty-five."
"Is that so?" He questioned back.
"That is so!" She exclaimed. "The next time you step into that ring, it's in a tag team match with me in your corner."
The idea of Justin teaming with, well, THAT didn't seem to set well with Lindsay, if not for the comments she made towards her already, at the fact that he was teaming with an attractive young blonde. She didn't say anything; however, she just wrapped her arms around Justin and started glaring daggers through her.
"Well isn't that just fantastic." Justin commented. It had been their first official meeting, and from the get go, it hadn't been a pleasant one. This was especially true, when the first words out of her mouth were insults towards one of the ONLY blondes in his life that, at the moment, meant anything to him. "But what does that have to do with you creeping in my locker room?"
She stood up from her seat, and moved towards the married couple. To make matter worse, she got up in Justin's face, almost as if she were about to kiss the Force of Nature. More than likely as a ploy to get even further under Lindsay's skin than she already was. "I don't lose and I certainly don't team with losers so I just wanted to make sure you're on form in two weeks!"
Misses Michaels released her hold on her husband and stepped in between the two. Comfortable in her own shoes, and well trained herself, she could have held her own against Stacy, but Justin was not about to allow that. Not then. "Listen here kid!" Justin grumbled. "I've been up and down these halls for years now. I was wrestling in that squared circle out there while you were still being..." Justin could feel himself slipping down to her level, and quickly stopped himself. "Look, I've been around a while, and I know my way around the ring better than most; you don't have to worry about me."
"I hope so!" She barked. "We fight. We win. I’ve beat Saniti before, and I'll do it again. I'm sure you can handle Kelli Starr." Shooting a quick glare back at Lindsay, she dug her nails in even further. "You're already well-practiced in manhandling tramps."
Justin quickly grabbed Lindsay and trapped both of her arms at the right time, before she had her chance to lash out at Stacy. He carried her to the door of the dressing room, opened it up, and led her outside. "Go find Brian, Aaron, and Katie; I'll meet up with you in a couple minutes, once I finish up with this delusional bitch."
She didn't go willingly, but after Justin shut and locked the door behind him, she stormed off.
"There's one thing you need to know about this match. Saniti is next up on my list of firsts in PCW here recently. Our first tag team match together notwithstanding, he's my opponent in the next round of the Icemann Invitational, and you'll do good to know that." He affirmed. "You beat him before, good for you, but I've yet to face the man, and I plan on making an example out of him as I work my way to my SECOND tournament victory." The Force of Natured pressed on. "Your sights need to be set on his cotton candy covered consort, as you just may very well have to face her... IF you get past your elite eight opponent."
Stacy furled her brow, and rolled her eyes as she huffed and puffed towards the door. She tried to open her mouth to say something sarcastic, again, but Justin didn't let her.
"You know what, Stacy?" He questioned the young blonde superstar. "You'd do well to mind yourself around these parts; it's easy to find yourself in undesirable situations when you've got an attitude like you have." Justin warned. "Competitors like you are dime a dozen around here and many of us have seen plenty like you come and go without ever thinking twice about them later. If you want to make a name for yourself, try doing it with your mouth shut, and if you can do that in our match in a couple of weeks, we'll be JUST fine!"
Having been put in her place, she threw open the door, and did her best to get one last shot in. "So that was your family?" She asked, obviously hearing the goings on from earlier. "How cute; mine are dead. It helps me care less about stupid shit." She disclosed, and Stormm was unsure what to make of it. "Make sure you don't bring them next week, I'd hate for you to be distracted during our match!" She didn't let him retort, and she rushed out of the dressing room.
The Force of Nature, with his hands on his hips, could only shake his head. It would be an interesting match, to say the least. He was just happy that it had little bearing in the Icemann Invitational, and would give him a first look at Nathan Saniti, face to face, inside of the squared circle. THAT was what he really hoped to get out of the match, and if the cocky Ms. Jones became too much of a burden, he'd have no problem leaving her to the wolves. A loss in a match like that, with a partner like THAT, would be no skin off his back.
Justin's younger brother said it best, however, as he peeked his head back into the locker room, and bringing his older brother out of his mental prison. "She's a bitch!"
