Tyrone “Crazy Boy” Smith is finally getting the respect and the recognition he deserves, albeit in unorthodox means. He finally gets what he wants: a shot at the International Championship and Nathan Saniti. He was the one that pinned Derek Cosmos and should have won the spot to face Saniti all by himself, but the unexpected happened when High Tide and Alexa Black both dogpiled on top of the veteran superstar and there was a three way winner.
The match was turned into a four way, but by extreme circumstances Alexa Black left the match to tend to her own matters, leaving the match a triple threat between Tyrone, High Tide and the International Champion, Nathan Santini.
High Tide has really become a thorn in Crazy Boy’s side, but this is where it ends. If Tyrone is to rise up and become the International Champion, he is to finish up High Tide and overcome the unpredictable and weird entity that is Nathan Saniti.
It is not going to be an easy task, but the Crazy One has been turning heads as of late and after Mass Destruction, all eyes will be focused on the new International Champion.
“The time has come. The time has come for all of the respect that I have deserved for so long to come full circle. It is time for me to pluck what is rightfully mine and join the echelons of greatness at Mass Destruction. I don’t care what has to be done, I will walk out International Champion and then finally everyone will know the name Tyrone “Crazy Boy” Smith.
The scene opens with the Smith family walking down the boardwalk parallel to the beach in Biloxi, Mississippi. On the right side of Tyrone, there walks his lovely wife, Cassie, her long auburn hair fluttering in the wind. On the left side of him, hands locked, walks his daughter, Shayla. As they are walking, Tyrone’s hair is tussled around his face and a smile is seen under the matted hair. As they enjoy the scenery, Cassie is heard sighting under her breath.
“Do you always have to talk about work? Why don’t you enjoy family time for once.
Tyrone shrugs his shoulders, overhearing his wife, as he laughs slightly.
“Of course I enjoy my family time, but this is a big deal for me, Cass. You know this. This is finally my shot. My opportunity to take the spotlight and become a champion in Pure Class Wrestling again. I’m not going to dwindle this opportunity. And you know what the best part is? I can pin High Tide and finally put an end to this charade once and for all and still win the title.”
Shayla then speaks up, looking up at her daddy.
“You going to beat that pirate, daddy? I know you’re getting tired of him. I want you to beat him too.
Tyrone tussles his daughters blonde hair with his other hand and nods his head slowly, grinning from ear to ear.
“Yes, honey. I will beat that bad pirate man. I will beat everyone and daddy will become a champion. Then I will buy you whatever you want with the extra money I will be getting. There is nothing too big for my little girl.”
That gets his daughter smiling as Cassie gives him the cold stare. Tyrone looks at her and shrinks into the back of his mind, her stare piercing through his soul.
“And what if you don’t win? You can’t sit there and make promises to your daughter that you may not be able to keep. You don’t win and then we’re in the same boat we have always been in. Yes, we are financially stable, but you can’t just go out and buy something on a whim like that. You need to think sometimes, Ty.”
Tyrone just shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly and mumbles under his breath, almost too quiet for Cassie not to hear, but the wind carries his voice.
“Just gives me extra incentive to win then. I’m not going to disappoint my daughter. Or you for that matter, Cass. I just want you guys to be proud of me, that’s all. I make these promises to give me the extra motivation that I need to win. I know I can do it, but sometimes that self doubt creeps in and I just need that extra boost in my confidence is all.”
Cassie starts speeding up her walks to more of a brisk pace as Tyrone struggles to keep up with Shayla in tow.
“Hey, Cass, slow down! Why are you going so fast?
She doesn’t slow down. Cassie walks in front of the Crazy One and smiles, walking backwards.
“You know that me and Shayla are proud of you no matter what happens, Ty. You could never win a single match for the rest of your career and we would still be proud of you. Just being out there, entertaining the fans, providing for us is all we ask for. And you do just that, baby. There is nothing you can do that will ever disappoint us. There is no reason for the self doubt and extra boost of confidence. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.”
Crazy Boy starts to walk into a brisk pace himself, but his face deep in thought. He almost bumps into Cassie as she stops in her tracks.
“What’s your obsession with High Tide anyway? It’s not like Andy D who you have been feuding with for over a decade or Alexa Black, who has been more than become a thorn in your side. I know you have a mild history together, but there is no reason for you to have this much obsession over someone. I know when you get like this, it starts to become unhealthy.”
Tyrone stares at his wife for a minute as Shayla looks up at her parents, a worried look appearing on her face.
“You are not going to fight again, are you?”
Both Cassie and the Crazy One look down at their daughter and shake their heads simultaneously.
“No, honey. We’re not. We’re just having a discussion is all.
That seems to calm Shayla down as Tyrone starts to walk again, walking right past his wife. She catches up to him to hear what he has to say.
“You don’t understand, Cass. For the past 2 years, anytime something big happens to me in PCW, there is High Tide. The first time I won the North American Championship, I beat High Tide for the title. When me and El Musculo had a chance to win the tag team titles, his tag team, Sea Men, always seemed to be in our way. He disappears for the longest time and comes back and beats me at Trauma 137.
Then when it seems like I finally get rid of the guy at Trauma 138 and I actually pin Derek Cosmos, what happens? Right before the three count, I get dogpiled by both Alexa Black and High Tide and all THREE of us get the pinfall. It’s a never ending cycle with the guy. Alexa Black may have gotten away from the match because of her own personal demons, but I can’t shake the guy. The pirate just will not go away. I’m sick and tired of this and it’s time for me to end this once and for all.”
Cassie sighs and stops in her tracks, looking at the beach, an inflatable bounce house sitting on a wooden platform above the sand. She looks at Shayla and grabs some money out of her billfold and gives it to her. Shayla bounces off toward the bounce house as they stand on the boardwalk, watching their daughter laugh and jump around.
“Just don’t push it too hard, Ty. You know what happens when you let obsessions get the best of you. Look at Andy D. You obsessed over the guy so hard for over 10 YEARS and you couldn’t beat the guy in singles matches ever. Stacy Jones almost ruined you a few months ago when you called her out to a match and almost messed up your neck. Your obsessions sometimes just go a little too far, Ty. I don’t want you doing the same thing in this match, you know? And don’t forget, High Tide isn’t the only one in the match. You have Nathan Saniti to deal with too, and he is the International Champion for a reason. He has beaten some of the best of the best PCW has to offer. Do you really have what it takes to topple him? You have to have eyes in the back of the head in this match, not just the tunnel vision and focus all your attention on High Tide.”
Tyrone stares out in the distance, taking in everything his wife tells him and he watches Shayla bounce around, almost knocking over a kid in the process. He starts to walk toward the bounce house, but Cassie stops him, telling him she didn’t mean it. Ty just sighs and shakes his head slowly.
“I know this, Cass. I know that Nathan Saniti is a force to be reckoned with. I know that I have to deal with him as well as High Tide, but I just can’t shake my attention away from the pirate. I can ill will afford a mistake and I know this match will be one of the most demanding matches I have had in a long time, but I just can’t shake it. All I have to do is just have a lucky break, pin High Tide and become the International Champion. Nathan Saniti doesn’t even have to be involved in the finish to lose the title. All I have to do is take him out, then finish my job with High Tide. There is no doubt in my mind I can get the job done. I just have to keep calm and collected and catch him with his pants down. I can do this. It’s not a can, it’s a MUST. I must do this. I’m not a spring chicken anymore, Cass. I don’t know how many more opportunities like this I’m going to get, so I have to take advantage of every opportunity I DO get.
I don’t care what I have to do, Cass. I don’t care if I have to barrel though High Tide or Nathan Santini, I will get the job done. At Mass Destruction, when the smoke clears and the bell rings, Pure Class Wrestling will have a new International Champion, then everyone, including Andy D, High Tide and Nathan Saniti will FINALL Y give me the respect I deserve. This is my one chance, Cass. I cannot lose this.”
Cassie can only stare out in the distance, watching Shayla get out of the bounce house and walk back up to the loving parents. She grins at the both of them, her two front teeth missing.
“That was fun, Mommy and Daddy. When you win that match, can I have a bounce house of my own?”
Crazy Boy tussles his daughters hair and nods his head slowly.
“We’ll see, honey. Let’s see what happens first.”
It seems like the talk he had with Cassie has calmed him down and he seems more confident and focused on the task at hand, but deep inside his psyche and the inner sanctums of his mind, he still cannot shake the ill wind that lies ahead of him. His obsession with High Tide and winning the International Championship.
Something has got to give, and in the end, Tyrone will have to figure out what exactly will give.
The loving family starts their walk back down the boardwalk, going the opposite direction of where they were going, the sun setting ahead of them. As they walk into the distance, the figures are seen as silhouettes in the setting sun as the show fades to black.
Static and fade.
End.
