His gaze had been fixated on the faded black ink scribbles labeling the file folder for almost an hour. Her name meant nothing to him, her file told him nothing, yet, she was probably the most important piece of the puzzle to date. Damian had kidnapped Justin's best friend, Brian, and turned him against him, and then used him to escape prison. What should have been two remaining Southwind Gardens patients that needed to be located and returned to brand new facility, was now two patients, a friend, and the maddest man of them all.
What doors would Rose Ann Maria Bowd open for the Force of Nature?
What keys would he need to find to open them?
Would he ever find her? Steven? Brian? Damian? Kaden?
Was it all for nothing?
This was the way Justin's life had felt for the past month or two, like everything he'd worked towards, was all for naught.
Lindsay and he had twins almost four months prior, and he had been able to really be much of a father to them at all. The little smiles on their faces when he peeked into their cribs, or picked him up was reassuring, but he was unable to be around as much as he really wanted to be for them. His wife was being as supportive as she could for everything he was trying to accomplish, but she was too proud to admit that she wished he was around more.
Catie had been without her husband for most of the year, and Justin was struggling with whether or not to tell her what he'd seen. She had split some time back at their home in St. Louis as well as their condo in Atlanta, but was unable to manage all by herself, not knowing what had become of her true love. There'd be no reasoning with her if she found out what had become of her husband, Justin's best friend, and so the Force of Nature just kept it simple by telling her he was "doing his best" to find him. Her presence around Michaels Manor may have been the only thing keeping Lindsay sane with as much as Justin had been away, despite their differences.
Morgan hadn't been seen in a while, and aside from a text message here and there, or her typical voicemail she would leave Justin after one of his matches, nobody had any clue if she was actually fine or not. She had met some guy several months previously, and apparently has gotten pretty serious with him, regardless of the fact that she had not introduced him to the family yet. I guess it's just the Michaels way, to get involved in something, dive in head first, and completely immerse themselves into it, everything else be damned.
Aaron was pretty much all packed up and ready to move out. Of course, this wasn't necessarily something that Justin had failed his younger brother with, quite the opposite, actually. The youngest Micheals, who was getting ready to celebrate his eighteenth birthday alongside the birthday of the nation, had graduated from high school a little over a month ago, and had signed his letter of intent to play football at Kansas State, one of many schools that had tried to recruit the young man who had a hell of a senior year. He won three state titles, first as the starting quarterback for his football team, second at one hundred and eighty-two pounds in wrestling, and third playing third base and pitching in relief for baseball. The kid could have gone anywhere, and played any of the three sports of his choosing, but he chose to go to his big brother's alma mater under a scholarship to play football for Coach Snyder, and with any luck, could try and walk on to the baseball team if he wanted to try his hand at two collegiate sports. The only problem with all of that was, Justin had missed out on most of it.
It had become increasingly difficult for him to not feel selfish for how choices as of late, no matter if what he was actually doing was for the benefit and safety of others. Those feelings were spilling into his professional life as well.
The Black Hand had completely shattered everything the Force of Nature had built over the last three years with a man of similar size and a black hoodie, and denying it didn't seem to help his case any. The fans had turned their backs on him, and now with a big six man tag team match upcoming in a few days, there would be little he could say or do before then to get Non Compos Mentis and LoKi to believe him, either.
How were the three of them supposed to coexist in a ring against the ebon grip of Starr, Grimm, and Wryght? Perhaps they wouldn't. Even if the hand hadn't shattered whatever "illusion" the faithful would assume Justin had been hiding behind all these years, there's never been any love lost between Stormm and LoKi, or Stormm and Non Compos Mentis. This was going to be a three on two on one match, regardless of Justin's actions before, or during the match.
How was he ever going to turn this back around?
At that point, did he even want to?
If you can't beat them... No, that was NOT the answer!
But even still, what of Rose?
Roseann...
Annmaria...
Rose Ann Maria Bowd...
Damian had kept this woman's file blank for a reason, and was done playing games with Justin, as well. There were no clues, only her name, handwritten onto the tab of the file folder, where others had actual labels on them. A single piece of paper was inside of the folder, a blank form with what looked like scribblings from someone trying to get an ink pen to write.
There wasn't any information on top of what he had uncovered in the past to go off of, and nothing in that file to work off of other than a name of a woman, nearly seventy years old, who could very well just be a ghost that Damian had Justin chasing as a distraction.
"Justin, can you give me a hand?" Lindsay called out, and brought the Force of Nature out of his trance. He hadn't left for Greenville yet, and was sticking around Kansas until a little closer to Trauma than he normally does for the holiday. He wanted to spend as much time with his family as he could, or at least those that were still left around.
Given recent events, who knew how long it would be before they were all together after that weekend, or if they would be ALL together ever again.
