PCW's Golden Boy
A true superstar with legendary history, billing from Brick, New Jersey at a strapping 6'3" tall and 253lbs of finely honed talent, Michael "Mr. Showtime" Wryght is Pure Class Wrestling's current North American Champion and YOUR PCW Superstar Spotlight!
As the fed and the fans heat up for the Icey's (the fan voting ballot can be found here - don't forget to vote!), we take a step back from the World Title picture of recent focus and turn instead to the North American division. Michael "Mr. Showtime" Wryght, PCW's newest North American Champion, is this edition's Superstar Spotlight, and it's not hard to see why. With pure talent and raw charisma he's built an incredible career, involvement with the more mysterious or dangerous in PCW's roster adding a heavy dash of intrigue.
PCW's Golden Boy
It's all too easy these days to look at Michael "Mr. Showtime" Wryght as being one and the same with the Black Hand, along with his compatriots Sadistic and Grimm. While touching on this is inevitable, in the course of this piece I aim to focus more on the man himself rather than who he's involved with. I think PCW has had its fill of the Black Hand, amirite? PCW's resident movie star came from humble beginnings, growing up in a beach town in New Jersey in a low income household. Showtime has often credited his mother for driving home the importance of education and dedication; the woman done good, because he eventually earned himself both academic and athletic scholarships to Rowan University. With a tip of his hat to Lady Luck, Wryght took a trip to Atlantic City on the night of his graduation - with a little over a thousand dollars. Lady Luck was smiling on the Golden Boy that night, with Showtime turning his meager life savings into a small fortune! With some savvy investing, Wryght quickly turned his unexpected windfall into massive financial gain! Himself and his family now secure, Showtime turned his focus on his true passion: professional wrestling. He threw himself into the business, trying out the indie circuits in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania under the moniker "Pest" - hardly the paragon of Pure (or even impure) Class we've come to know and love.
Most information on Wryght's pro wrestling career can be found on his company bio, but I'd be remiss (read: lazy) to not include at least some of it. We gotta explain how he got to PCW,wryght right? A longtime friend of Wryght's named "Iceberg" brought him into a federation called bWo. Whether lettuce or the thing that sunk the Titanic is unknown as he was unavailable for comment at the time of this writing. When BWo closed its doors, Showtime began his true career. Moving through several federations such as KWF, EWEF, EKW, SWF, AWA, Showtime found himself in our very own PCW. Throughout his previous feds he had amassed titles, acclaim, and even Hall of Fame inclusions! Showtime took a break for a while, and upon his return he enlisted with Garden State Wrestling Alliance to become the longest reigning Tri-City Champion and then the GSWA World Champion. Our Golden Boy certainly kept himself busy didn't he? Through it all his considerable skills did nothing but improve - and then he left the industry after a massive shoulder injury. While many might have been surprised, those closest to him knew it was inevitable that his drive for excellence would spur him onward to greater things than just rehabilitating and continuing to dredge on in professional wrestling. His Hollywood career saw him working with such celebrities as Harrison Ford, Scarlett Johansson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and the acclaimed director James Cameron. Over the span of his career his roles have included the breakout part of Phil Lombard for "And Then There Were None, Jake Taylor of "The Enemy Within", and Will Sweeney for "A World Beyond".
An Impressive, Multi-Industry Career

Back in the Game
Taking the wrestling world by surprise, Wryght left the Hollywood glitz and glamour to return to what fans thought would be grappling with sweaty men in the squared circle on a bi-weekly basis. Without so much as a press release, Mr. Showtime bought himself a minority share of Pure Class Wrestling and came rolling in with all his movie star panache, his actual wrestling taking a lower priority than taking over as president of PCW itself! While active in this role he made several chances to the organization, but when our very own A Ghost in the Wind Luis Malave (hi, Boss!) told him that he'd never make PCW World Champion while holding a stake in the company, Showtime promptly sold out his shares (but didn't SELL OUT sell out) to return to all out pure wrestling. With a record of a World Championship, North American Championship, Tag Team Championship, and two International Championship reigns, Mr. Showtime went on to become PCW's first ever "GRAND SLAM CHAMPION"
! A feat coveted by many, the most likely of which being Non Compos Mentis though Black Hand groupie and current International Champion Dollface has gone on record to say she wants to hold every belt PCW offers. With his most recent win directly under (or rather, AS) his belt, PCW's current North American Champion is looking more formidable than ever as he moves on in his career as a true mainstay of Pure Class Wrestling.

No one but Mr. Showtime seems to know what his plans going forward will be. After a long, disturbing period where Showtime seemed to take on nearly every facet of fellow stable mate Grimm's personality, he's regained himself - but how far? The Black Hand's behavior seems too dark and violent for the gilded Wryght, but he's proven time and time again he has no problems getting his hands dirty. With no media releases or press conferences to keep us in the loop, we'll just have to wait and see whether Mikey stays with the Black Hand or once again breaks from Dillinger to make his own way. No matter which way he decides to go, the Golden Boy of PCW is the newest North American Champion and YOUR Pure Class Wrestling Superstar Spotlight!
