Owens is awesome at selling, so hopefully that's all it is.

The Women's Money in the Bank was a joke at least the ending. My Lady screamed about that and the message it sent for the entire rest of the show. Women's wrestling is really getting 1000 percent better in the WWE and they have historic talents both on the main rosters and on the rise. And THIS is how you show that by having a man interfere and get the briefcase for one of the girls? As a dad with daughters, this was not a good call.
Fashion Police versus the Ascenscion? I like the Fashion Police but come on. The Ascenscion was once this awesome tag team that they have gimmicked into complete irrellevance. This is why I hate WWE Creative. A GOOD writer would have already put them together with Bo Dallas and made them the core of a new Wyatt Family based on their displacement. Then at least you have a good stable if nothing else.
The ending Uso's versus New Day was designed to piss off fans. Yup, they are heels and sometimes heel champs run but that was ridiculous. Especially on the same show with the Women's MITB with the shit ending.
Orton/Mahal. Randy Boreton...not my favorite guy. Give him some time off to celebrate with his new wife...and PUT THE BELT ON SOMEONE ELSE. Man, I get it. Mahal getting the belt...right call, guy has worked his ass off...but take it off him the following month. He sure has not fucking earned a longer more prestigious title run than Bray Wyatt or AJ Styles. And keeping it on him so that he can go to India is ridiculous. I will give you Mahal cuts a better promo than Lesnar or Rusev but not by fucking much. Bad guys with titles are worth more...the audience will pay to see faces win more than they will pay to see a face defend that title...but how about a GOOD heel? Heel Ziggler, anyone? Guy has it all! KO? Double champ KO, he can pull that off.
Naomi/Lana - First of all, I hate Lana's character...they have not said so...but she really seems to be a glorified stripper. Wrong way to go with your historical women's division. Man if you want a little sexy, go with a burlesque performer...less openly sexual, certainly more unique and a whole lot more room to show talent...but neither is really the right direction for the character Lana has been playing. Lana should be a no nonsense fucking business type...a Russian female JBL (but more talented) or Million Dollar Man. She was Rusev's business manager and a thinking, smart manager...so let her be a thinking, smart all business wrestler. Also...wear lipstick that doesn't smear, I know this is genderly insensitive but the smeared lipstick is some white stuff away from being the shot just after the money shot. Second, I am not Naomi's biggest fan. Love her athleticism...love her ring work...not so sure I love her go team rah rah face character bs promos. Certainly they are better than some...but after a while, I am tired of trying to feel the glow and just want to change the channel.
MITB - Easily the Match of the Night...and while I am not Corbin's biggest fan...just feel like if he doesn't win every match or almost every match then his character is not sustainable...I will take a Corbin win. It moves Smackdown forward. Also, after that finish if it gives us Styles/Nakamura I am a VERY happy wrestling fan. Fucking Gold happens when those two wrestle. It leaves Sami Zayn without anything to do...so they will probably put him with Dolph Ziggler and those two could be magic. My own hopes were KO or Nakamura...so Corbin was a bit of a let down...but if that had been the only thing wrong MITB would have still been an A. I don't judge these things on whether or not the guy I like goes over (unless it is like AJ Styles versus a taint like Ryback...who sucks and he and Rusev should live in the Undercard hell of the Indy circuit with all six of their moves...and if you add them together...you get like...nine.) I will add that this ladder match was a little slow...probably due to Corbin's inclusion because I know most of those guys can go.

Are R-Truth and Goldust ever going to do anything except cut promos on each other talking about movies, because it's been six weeks.

Oh lord.
Looks like we're getting Orton/Mahal III at Battleground. In a Punjabi Prison match.
Why, WWE, why? Orton lost his rematch. Move on.

Sadly. The match has always sucked. The fact it's Orton-Mahal for a third time makes it even worse. Sigh.
Joe and Roman have excellent chemistry. Fun match. Good on Joe for winning. Was great to see Braun again.
The joke of a spot with the women clusterfuck was pathetic. That's the nicest I'll get about it.
Called Cass turning heel (his explanation was right on). Loved Corey being the one to show the footage. And fuck...Enzo sold the shock and heartbreak like a gd champ. His tears added serious weight to the reality of his best friend being the culprit. Sure going to be weird not seeing them as a team. Maybe Big Show will fill the void going forward.

I'm going to end up hijacking this thread. Fun times.
So, there is a thought that IF Roman does indeed face Lesnar at Summerslam, he'll win and defend against Cena at Wrestlemania.

But will be calling NXT now.

Fuck Mauro. I didn't think he was all that great and don't miss him.
On another note. It's sad, TNA is doing anything it can to stay alive while WWE raids its talent...Lucha Underground has an amazing product but seems to have peaked in viewership...ROH has a great show but not enough viewing outlets...there is nothing to compete with the WWE. And WWE thrives on competition and sort of dies without it.
Also...looking at WWE and NXT...I am sort of glad for HHH...think about it. NXT brought in The Shield...Neville, Bo Dallas, Charlotte, Sasha, Becky, Bayley and Alexa and Shinsuke and Corey Graves (who is probably my favorite announcer right now)and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and Big E and so many others that have changed the company and redefined the product and that was and is HHH's baby. You ever wonder what WWE would look like without all that? What horrible decisions would Vince make? Vince Russo might still have a job.
Sorry, wandered off into what if territory for a second. Long story short, Mauro...don't like him. That probably makes him depressed.

Cody Rhodes finally won a World championship, 5 years after he was everyone's future main eventer list. He defeated Christopher Daniels tonight at Best in the World to win the ROH World title.

I've got to say Samoa Joe choking Lesnar out was eminently satisfying. And I'm amazed Joe is being treated like a legitimate physical threat, because every repetitive Lesnar feud revolves around the same boring trope of him being too OP for anyone to buy he's in danger of losing. I mean he'll beat Joe, and probably pretty badly, but while it lasts seeing his big dumb face go purple as he gets choked out, well.... It makes me smile.

Starting my RAW review now. I won't finish it since I woke up late and gotta leave for work in about an hour, but I'll finish it later tonight.
First off...damn! Strauman throwing Reigns into the ambulance was pretty cool. They NEED to have this guy get another win. He's a real monster, one WWE hasn't seen in a long time. Having Reigns put him over for a second time would skyrocket him even further, and let's be honest here. WWE will just move on to Reign's next feud and have him still be the 'big dog' or whatever.
While i'm still not 100% sold on Finn Balors ring ability (it seems kinda boring at times until the last minute of the match,) his entrance is pretty amazing. Definitely a showman...I'd say entrance and ring ability combined, I'd rate him higher than Nakamura. I know, that'll probably get me some shit, but Nakamura is almost soley a striker, at least in the WWE. It's fun to watch but not my favorite. And how dangerous is the Coup de Grace? That looks like one mistake could cave in his opponents ribcage. how does he not injure people with that double stomp?
I really, really like Enzo. He's so easy to like. I felt really bad for him when Cass turned on him. So far the only negative thing about his promo (I've only reached the part where he calls out Cass) is that I have a feeling Cass is going to dissapear. He had zero crowd reaction so far.
I REALLY didn't expect it to go that way though...they played it right until the end, didn't they?!?! Ha, I thought the segment was over and Cass decked him. Good, I thought the storyline was for naught. Whether Enzo wins or loses this feud, he can cut a great promo and I just don't see the crowd turning on him. Cass is...kinda boring.
More later after work.

Back at it. So, I wish Paul Heyman was in more movies, he could kill it. Remember he was the announcer in the Rollerball remake? On RAW he even made a decent promo that ended with "Great balls of fire!" It was a little jab at creative I think because it was a bit sarcastic, but tongue in cheek insults are pretty popular right now.
As for the women's match...at least Sasha Banks won. I actually like watching her wrestle.

On to Smackdown. Half now, half later.
First, the opening segment. I really miss Daniel Bryan as a wrestler. I always thought it was amazing, the whole 'yes' movement. He's not a big guy, definitely not what Vince looks for, but he has the crowd in the palm of his hand. When he was wrestling, I always suspected that there'd be another 'screwjob' or something. The fans would riot if he lost and cheer their hearts out when he won. Anyways, the segment with James Ellsworth was actually really funny. What did it for me was when Ellsworth escaped the security and went to jump over the guardrail...and did one of those 'funny cat fail' jumps where he leapt like superman but didn't go anywhere. Perfect.
And y'know what? I like Mojo Rawley. Not as in he could be a main guy, or even a champion really...but he's entertaining. The Uso's continue to impress me with their heel gimmick. They look like such assholes.
Fashion files...er, Fashion Vice was subpar this week. But Ascension sneaking the Eddi Money tickets made me chuckle.
The fuck would they have a rematch with Naomi and Lana for it to be an essential squash match? Fuck that move. Am I watching RAW or Smackdown right now?

I'm glad Corbin got the win. He's starting to grow on me more and more. Too bad it was against Sami Zayn. Zayn should be in the midcard title picture for sure. Let him build back up to the main event.
Now, that was a main event. Those ladies really put on a show. I was enjoying it thoroughly, even though I spoiled it by myself and I knew that Carmella won again. But when Ellsworth came out and started to climb the ladder, I was pretty pissed off. I thought that was how she won it. But all in all, the ending was good, the spots were good, EVERYTHING was good about this match. This should set a new standard for women's matches, and it shows that they can do the same as the men in WWE. I know women's wrestling is more prominent in other indy orginazations, but man...this was good. All in all a really enjoyable episode of Smackdown. I can't wait to see NXT tomorrow night...unfortunately, i have to wait until then for Hulu to broadcast it.
